Alpha Step Daddy Dirty Little Secret
hannahadebosin · Ongoing · 33.3k Words
Introduction
First, her mother summons her to a wedding she never told her about.
Then Amelia arrives and discovers the groom is her mate.
Mateo Vane is everything an eighteen-year-old girl should stay away from.
Cold. Powerful. Dangerous.
And much older than her.
But Mateo has no interest in Amelia.
He calls her little girl and makes it clear that whatever the mate bond wants, he doesn't.
There is only one problem.
Mateo hasn't been able to tolerate skin-to-skin contact for ten years.
Except with Amelia.
Her touch is the only thing that doesn't make him sick. The only exception to a condition that has controlled his life for a decade.
And Mateo intends to use her to find a cure.
That's all.
Nothing more. Nothing less.
Because his marriage to Amelia's mother is nothing but a contract between two powerful Alphas, and Amelia was never supposed to be part of it.
He even tells her she's not his type.
But when Amelia starts falling for the cold, aloof man who keeps saving her from her mother's control, things begin to change.
What starts as an attempt to learn how to tolerate touch slowly becomes something neither of them expected.
Something dangerous, something neither of them should want.
And when the line between treatment and temptation starts to disappear, just how many boundaries will they be willing to break?
Chapter 1
AMELIA
“Wait… you got married? Seriously?”
My mouth stays slightly parted as I pull the phone away from my ear, checking the screen like maybe I dialed the wrong number.
Skylar.
My mother.
“Yes, I did,” she says, her voice calm. That familiar nonchalance slips through, the same one she uses when she’s already decided something and my feelings are an afterthought.
“You can’t tell me you didn’t see this coming.”
I let out a small laugh, sharp and disbelieving.
“Coming?” I repeat. “No. I didn’t see my own mother getting married without telling me, coming.”
There’s a pause on the line and it’s not the guilty kind but the irritated kind.
“Well, I didn’t think it was necessary to inform you of every decision I make,” she replies. “Especially when I knew you’d react like this. You always do—just like your father.”
There it is.
My jaw tightens.
She always finds a way to drag him into it. The man who’s been dead for years and still somehow manages to ruin her day simply by existing in memory.
“You mean the father who actually wanted me?” I ask quietly, staring at the ceiling.
“That’s not what I said, Amelia,” she snaps. “Don’t twist my words. Your father was reckless and selfish. He ruined my life before he ran off and left me to deal with the consequences.”
The consequences.
Me.
I swallow, my throat suddenly tight.
And for a brief, stupid second, I remember waking up this morning and wondering if she’d call. Wondering if—just once—she’d remember what today was.
“Mom,” I say, and the word tastes bitter on my tongue. “It’s my birthday.”
Another pause. Shorter this time.
“And because it’s your birthday, I shouldn’t be happy?” she asks. “I shouldn’t get to choose something good for myself? Or should I drop everything I’m doing and center my life around you again?”
I close my eyes.
“I didn’t say that.”
“You didn’t have to,” she says, something rustling from the other side. “Look, the wedding already happened. It was private and small. I didn’t want unnecessary drama.”
Unnecessary.
“So you waited until after,” I whisper. “Until it was done.”
“Yes,” she says simply. “The reception is starting now. You should come.”
I blink, brows lifting.
“Come… where?”
“I’ll send you the address,” she continues, already moving on. “Stop whatever it is you’re doing and come over. It’s time you met him.”
I sit up on my bed, heart thudding painfully in my chest.
“You couldn’t even tell me before?” I ask. “You couldn’t let me process this?”
“Amelia,” she sighs, like I’m exhausting her, “you’re eighteen now. You’re grown. You’ll understand one day that life doesn’t pause just because you’re emotional.”
The line goes dead.
My hand drops from my ear as I sit motionless on the bed, lips wobbling despite my effort to keep them still.
I hate that reaction. Hate that she still has this kind of access to me. Hate that I still expect anything else.
A second later, my phone buzzes with a message.
An address.
No explanation. No late happy birthday wishes or an apology. Only coordinates to a life she built without me.
I stare at the screen, my chest aching in a way that feels like something I learned to live with a long time ago.
Thanksgiving was always my father’s. Loud and warm in his small cottage at the outskirts. He’d let me lick the spoon and pretend I was helping while he cooked too much food for just the two of us.
Christmas, on the other hand, belonged to my mother. Cold mornings and forced smiles, a reminder that I was never what she planned for. That her biggest mistake as an Alpha heir was getting knocked up by their cook's son at 17 and having me, a splitting image of him.
And now my father is gone.
Which means Christmas didn’t just win.
It swallowed everything else.
I sink back onto the mattress, eyes burning as I stare at the ceiling. Eighteen. Apparently old enough to be informed about the fact. Old enough to at least be invited instead of summoned.
My phone buzzes again.
Are you on your way?
I exhale slowly, fingers curling around the device as I sit up, ready to go get ready.
I grab my bag, forcing myself to move.
Whoever she married…
I just hope he’s nothing like the men she used to bring around.

Mafia Don Begs Me Back
Damian coldly gripped her jaw. "Vivian's condition has worsened. The surgery is set for one month from now. Don't worry — I'll find you the best burial plot, and I'll make sure your family is well provided for. You need to understand: if it weren't for your heart, you never could have become my wife, never could have become Mrs. Montgomery. You've enjoyed years of a lavish life. Now it's time to give something back."
Even the son she had raised with her own hands screamed at her: "Why won't you just die? If you die, your heart can go to Vivian! I want Vivian to be my mom!"
Elara fell apart. But she was not completely broken.
She slipped the divorce agreement into a stack of contracts that needed Damian's signature. He didn't read closely. He signed. Now, she was free.
Elara accepted the offer — Top Jewelry Appraiser, a seven-figure annual salary. She gave herself one month to say goodbye to the five years she had lost. She withdrew from Damian's life and Caleb's life, little by little, until nothing of her remained.
Until that night, when Damian watched helplessly as a bullet tore through her shoulder and she plunged into the freezing waters of the Atlantic.
"No! Elara! You are not allowed to die!"
In that moment, Damian finally understood — somewhere across those five years, he had already fallen in love with Elara. And a certain truth he had always believed in reversed itself after Elara walked away.
He had been wrong. Catastrophically wrong. Wrong from the very beginning. This proud, noble, and ruthless mafia don was consumed by remorse, and vowed to spend the rest of his life in atonement — to win back Elara, who had lost every last shred of faith in him.
"Elara, I'm begging you. Come back. Come back to me and Caleb."
"Mommy, I'm sorry. Please don't abandon me."
When Elara — now an international figure, admired and adored by countless people — comes face to face once again with the man she once loved with all her heart, and the son who once wished her dead, what choice will she make?
Taste of Fate: The Vampire King's Human Mate
He reached for the back of my head and pulled me up just enough to reach my neck. When his fangs slid into me, the pain was instant, electric. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. My hands found his shoulders, clawing for something to hold. My legs kicked. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
He moaned against my throat as he drank, and the sound was devastating.

They consume you.

Pregnant by My Husband's Rival Alpha
Those words should have destroyed me, but the truth was worse: I'd been used as a broodmare by the man who swore to love me, set up in a hotel room with a stranger because My husband Alexander Cross couldn't father children himself, and now I carried the secret babies of Damon Lester—the most powerful and dangerous Alpha in San Loris—while my own family replaced me with the daughter they'd always wanted. But when that same stranger's doctor appeared at my door, when twenty million dollars exchanged hands over a fake perfume bearing my secret identity, and when Damon's gray eyes locked onto mine with recognition I couldn't afford, I realized my carefully hidden life as the legendary perfumer Vera was colliding with a pregnancy that could cost me everything.
Could I protect my babies from the husband plotting my death, hide my true identity from the Alpha who's been hunting me for years, and reclaim the freedom I'd buried along with my dreams—even if it means standing alone against the wolves who see me as nothing more than a womb to be used and discarded?
