Dear Ex Husband, You Loved Me Too Late
THE QUINGS QUILL · Ongoing · 175.4k Words
Introduction
My heart, my trust, my future. Four years of love, devotion, and blind loyalty. And what did I get in return? Betrayal. Humiliation. Loss.
Simon Smith chose my sister over me… and in that one selfish moment, he shattered my world. He left me broken, alone, and with a secret wound no one could see. My son… gone. My life… thrown into chaos.
But I refuse to let him have the final say. I refuse to be the woman who waits, who cries, who begs for scraps of a love that was never mine to begin with.
Now, it's my turn to reclaim everything. My strength. My freedom. My heart. And one man steady, loyal, and unwavering is about to remind me that love isn't just about giving it's about being valued, truly cherished, and never underestimated.
Some men think they can break a woman and keep her in pieces. Some men think they can betray her and expect her to return. Simon is about to find out the truth: some hearts heal… and some never belong to him again.
"I missed you, Anika."
"I have never seen you before in my life, sir."
"You think you can just leave me and replace me? You are mine!"
"Did your mother not teach you that grabbing random strangers is wrong?"
"Anika…"
"Stay away from me."
Chapter 1
ANIKA'S POV
"I am sorry Madam Smith but you lost the baby"
The doctor kept on saying more things but I was not listening from that point on. My hands instinctively wrapped around my stomach that now seemed empty and I felt the tears run down my eyes… still, I did not say a single word. I could not even blink.
Everything inside me just hurt.
Just yesterday, I still had my son in my belly, I was whispering sweet things about how I would give him the world when he was born.
Then there was the incident with Bree, and in the twinkle of an eye, I had lost it all… that yesterday now seemed like a faraway dream.
"I'm sorry Madam are you listening to me?"
I blinked once, then twice trying to come back to reality "I'm sorry that did you say?" I asked my voice cracking at the end.
The doctor shot me a look of pity. I hated that look because somehow it just seemed to solidify everything, how real it was… the fact that I had actually lost my baby.
"I said that you need a family member to come and sign your documents before we can proceed treatment"
I just turned away from the doctor and face the window 'I have no one here" I said.
He looked at me with a shocked expression on his face "I just saw your husband outside-"
I cut him off "you are free to try Doctor but I assure you, Simon won't come"
Just thinking about him made my heart to hurt even more.
When he found both Bree and I down the staircase, I was there on the floor bleeding from all areas, while Bree just had a small scratch… he took Bree to the hospital instead and left me for dead. While I lay there helplessly in a pool of my own blood until one of the house keeper's fond me and called 911.
If he had gotten me to the hospital earlier then maybe my son would still be alive.
But I did not want to think about what could have been. Not right now, it would break me.
My own husband whom I had been married to for 4 years, the man who was to love me and protect me just left me for dead while he was panicking over my sister.
Another round of tears fell down from my eyes without my permission.
Simon did not deserve my tears, or my love but it could not change how painful this was…. I had spent a million times racking my brain over and over again, but still I could not figure out when things got this bad.
When the lovely smile he once had when he looked in my direction turned to los of disdain, when he stopped caring about me; when he stopped loving me.
I did not notice the doctor step out but now he was back inside the room and the look on his face showed that I was right.
He cleared his throat "your husband, Mr. Smith said that he was busy and should not be disturbed with trivial matters"
I almost lost my mind.
Trivial matters?
I had stitches everywhere… We had just lost our son and to him this was a trivial matter.
I scoffed "I can sign the documents myself Doctor, I don't need anyone" I said.
"This is against hospital policy" he said.
"Then do whatever you want I don't care!" I snapped…. I was feeling guilty about pouring all of my emotions on the wrong person but at this point I was too exhausted to even care about my attitude, I would apologize later.
He heaved a sigh before passing the documents to me "please sign"
I took the pen, hissing slightly from it rubbing against my cuts. When I was done, I passed it back to him "if that is all I would really like to sleep now" I said.
He moved back "ok. You can rest now, so that you will recover"
I lay on the bed and turned away from everyone. With my hands on my stomach, I began crying again for all that I had lost until I finally dozed off.
Muffled whispers woke me up from my sleep.
''I feel so much pity from this woman… she had just lost her child and sustained multiple injuries from a drastic fall, but still, there are no family members to care for her, not a single visit"
"Right. Meanwhile the patient in the VIP room sustained such a small scratch and her fiancée won't stop fussing over her"
I sat up and cleared my throats.
The two nurses looked at me like two deers caught in head lights.
"I need to use the bathroom" I said.
"Yes, we-we are sorry" one of them said.
I did not even bother to reply. Suddenly everything just felt so numb.
The nurses assisted me to stand up.
Since I was in a regular ward, there was no toilet in the room, which meant I had to use the one on the outside corridor.
On the way to the toilet, I passed by the VIP room and that laughter I recognized it instantly. "You take such good care of me Simon" Bree said.
"Of course your safety is most important to me"
His voice was so tender… it was the tone of voice that I could not remember when last he used it with me. Whenever he was talking to me, it always seemed to be so cold and dismissive.
I wanted to walk away, I knew that listening would only hurt me more, but my feet stayed glued in place.
"Aren't you going to see Anika, she's hurt to, she must be so angry at me"
Simon scoffed "she doesn't matter… someone that made you get hurt deserves to suffer alone"
I gasped… my eyelids burning.
Was this what he seriously thought, that I caused this?
I just had a miscarriage and here he was saying that I did not matter… in this moment, every ounce of love that I thought that I had for Simon Smith just vanished into thin air, now all I felt was numbness.
I hugged my stomach again,
"Simon Smith, I will never forgive you."

Rumors swirled about this enigmatic man—whispers claimed he was hideously ugly and too ashamed to show his face, possibly harboring dark, twisted obsessions.
Without hesitation, the Baileys sacrificed me to protect their precious biological daughter, forcing me to take her place as a pawn in this cold, calculated arrangement.
Luckily, in those four years, the mysterious husband never asked to meet in person.
Now, in the final year of our arrangement, the husband I've never met is demanding we meet face to face.
But disaster struck the night before my return—drunk and disoriented, I stumbled into the wrong hotel room and ended up sleeping with the legendary financial mogul, Caspar Thornton.
What the hell am I supposed to do now?

Iron And Glamour Just Don't Mix
Well… Sometimes you just might turn out to be right.
It turns out, the fae stole my little brother. In his place? A pixie with boundary issues and a talent for home repairs.
I’ve spent my life taking care of everyone else. So when my baby brother is taken, I don’t hesitate. I walk straight into a faerie mansion and make a bargain with its infuriatingly charming master.
Kie is everything you’d expect from a dangerous fae, beautiful, political, and entirely too amused by me. Power wrapped in a smirk. Sensual, mischievous, and far too aware of the effect he has on people. He agrees to help me find my brother.
For a price.
Now I’m bound by a faerie bargain and navigating a world of glamour, manipulation, and ancient rules I definitely should have learned sooner, enchanted forests, political games, magical contracts, and a fae lord who treats seduction like a perfectly reasonable negotiation tactic.
Iron is how I keep people out.
Glamour is how he draws them in.
And apparently, they just don’t mix.
Bella and Her Beast
.
Locked in her frozen tower, Bella dreamed of warmth, of touch, of freedom and of love. Cursed with the power of ice and snow, she’s spent her life alone. A secret they tried to protect the world from. Her only escape comes in the form of the books she reads. Stories of heat, desire, and the kind of love that could melt even her frostbitten heart.
Damien is the Beast. A dragon King with a temper forged in flame and a soul hollowed by duty. The world fears him. The people call him a monster. But beneath the scales and the rage lies a man who has never been touched by love.
When frost meets fire, the world shatters. She was never meant to leave her tower. He was never meant to find her. But destiny doesn’t bow to kings or care for cages and now the question burns through them both: Can Bella have her Beast? Or will the girl of snow melt in the heat of his desire?
.
"I’m keeping her."
"What?"
Before I can react, he scoops her up. Her small body fits easily in the cradle of his talons. For a split second, she looks startled, but not afraid. Her hand rests against one scaled finger, and she stares up at him with that same curious wonder, as though she’s already forgotten she was ever meant to fear me.
"Put her down," I try to command, panic threading through my thoughts. "You’ll hurt her."
"She’s ours," the beast insists, possessive and fierce. "Our snowflake."
Tango with the Alpha's Heart
“He met her at the Alpha training camp,” he said. “She is a perfect suitor for him. It snowed last night, indicating that his wolf is happy with his choice.”
My heart sank, and tears made their way down my cheeks.
Alexander took my innocence last night, and now he is taking that thing in his office as his Luna.
Emily became the laughingstock of the pack on her 18th birthday and never expected the Alpha's son to be her mate.
After a night of passionate love, Emily finds out that her mate has taken a chosen mate. Heartbroken and humiliated, she disappears from the pack.
Now, five years later, Emily is a respected high-ranking warrior in King Alpha’s army.
When her best friend invites her to a night of music and laughter, she never expects to run into her mate.
Will her mate figure out it is her?
Will he chase after her, and most of all, will Emily be able to keep her secrets safe?
After One Night with the Alpha
I thought I was waiting for love. Instead, I got fucked by a beast.
My world was supposed to bloom at the Moonshade Bay Full Moon Festival—champagne buzzing in my veins, a hotel room booked for Jason and me to finally cross that line after two years. I’d slipped into lacy lingerie, left the door unlocked, and lay on the bed, heart pounding with nervous excitement.
But the man who climbed into my bed wasn’t Jason.
In the pitch-black room, drowned in a heady, spicy scent that made my head spin, I felt hands—urgent, scorching—searing my skin. His thick, pulsing cock pressed against my dripping cunt, and before I could gasp, he thrust hard, tearing through my innocence with ruthless force. Pain burned, my walls clenching as I clawed at his iron shoulders, stifling sobs. Wet, slick sounds echoed with every brutal stroke, his body unrelenting until he shuddered, spilling hot and deep inside me.
"That was amazing, Jason," I managed to say.
"Who the fuck is Jason?"
My blood turned to ice. Light slashed across his face—Brad Rayne, Alpha of Moonshade Pack, a werewolf, not my boyfriend. Horror choked me as I realized what I’d done.
I ran away for my life!
But weeks later, I woke up pregnant with his heir!
They say my heterochromatic eyes mark me as a rare true mate. But I’m no wolf. I’m just Elle, a nobody from the human district, now trapped in Brad's world.
Brad’s cold gaze pins me: “You carry my blood. You’re mine.”
There is no other choice for me but to chose this cage. My body also betrays me, craving the beast who ruined me.
