Introduction
Chapter 1
Ocean City. Hotel.
Clara Ocean has a moment of amazement as she looks at the man lying beside her.
Aaron Willo? Why is she in bed with her future brother-in-law?
She remembers that she and her best friend were working part-time at a restaurant, and for some reason she had passed out. Next thing she knows, she’s lying here with Aaron Willo on her side.
Clara takes one look at her strappy miniskirt, gets a bad feeling and she cannot find her phone.
Afraid to stay longer, Clara put on her shoes and wants to leave. As soon as she opens the door, the reporter squatting at the door filed in and caught her by surprise.
"Miss Ocean, are you calling us to expose your secret affair with your brother-in-law?"
"I didn't call to tell you."
The reporter takes his cell phone out of his pocket and dials the latest call log. The number at the top is Clara’s.
Clara shakes her head. No, she didn't call the reporter, and her phone was nowhere to be found.
Then Aaron Willo wakes up in bed. "Why am I here?"
A reporter takes the opportunity to approach, "Mr Willo, this is the hotel, you and Miss Hai alone room, what are you doing?"
Aaron Willo sits up with disgust in his eyes. "I couldn't do anything to that shameless woman."
No shame? These words stings Clara hard. She remembers Aaron always calling her “Clara baby” and being so sweet to her. But since she had lost the title of daughter of Ocean family, she had become a shameless woman in his mouth.
Aaron Willo looks at his naked self under the covers and seems to remember
something. He becomes angry and points at Clara. "Clara Ocean, you texted me that Joy was drunk at the hotel and asked me to pick her up. Who knew I'd just come in here and get knocked out, tell me, what have you done to me?"
Clara, listening to his nonexistent accusation, retorts, "I didn't text you."
Aaron reaches for his phone, finds out the text message, and mercilessly smashes it against Clara's forehead.
"Have a good look on this."
"Ah --" A sharp tingle hits Clara's forehead, and a stream of heat snakes down.
The bright red liquid clouds Clara's sight. Clara looks at the heartless man and her heart aches much more than her head ache.
She should have known that the moment her life was revealed, the gentle Aaron in her heart died.
This reporter picks up the phone from the floor and compares the phone numbers in the address book. He confirms that both the text message and the call were from Clara, so he looks at her face even more interesting.
"Miss Ocean, what are you planning this scene for?"
"Are you trying to get back at your sister Joy because she's back in the Ocean family and you hate her for making you normal, so you want to get back at her with the man who stole her?" "I never thought you'd be such an ungrateful person."
Another reporter also says, "When you say that, I suddenly remember something. Four years ago, your false daughter's birth was exposed. In order to stay in the Ocean family, you even expelled your biological parents from the city.
Clara snaps, "No."
"If not, why did you stay with the Ocean family and not go back to your birth family?"
There was something going on, but she promised Joy she wouldn't tell anyone else.
As they speaks, Joy Ocean arrives.
Clara's eyes lit up. "Joy, you..."
A loud, crisp slap lands on Clara's pretty face, her delicate body slamming down on the bed, her white face swelling fast and the corners of her mouth spilling blood.
She looks at Joy Ocean in disbelief. "Joy, don't you believe me?"
Joy looks very sad and says, "Sister, I want to believe you, but the evidence is so obvious, how can I trust you?"
Clara goes on to explain: "I was framed."
Clara knows that someone is behind all this. It is designed so seamlessly that her explanation seems more like a quibble.
Joy asks. "You were set up? Well, let me ask you something, do you really not like Aaron?"
"I..." Clara is speechless.
Ocean and Willo's families made this marriage when they were both young, and she has always seen Aaron as her future husband. How could she not love him?
But four years ago, the Ocean family suddenly told her that she was not the daughter of Ocean and that she had been switched at birth. Naturally, the match fell to Joy Ocean, the real daughter of the Ocean family.
Not daring to compete with Joy, she offered to give up the marriage.
But she can not rob, but does not want to deny her feelings.
"Hehe..." When Joy saw that she didn't answer, she took it as a tacit agreement. Joy suddenly smiled with a sad smile, "Sister, more than 20 years ago, an accident, let us exchange identities. When I came back, I was afraid that you might have any difficulties, so I tolerated you and did not fight or take away from you."
"You can tell me you like Aaron, and I'll let you have it. But why do you say you don't like him, and then embarrass me by doing something like this just when we're engaged?"
Clara stared at Joy. It was Clara herself who was holding back. Why did Joy say that?
Aaron felt more and more distressed about Joy. He held Joy compassionately, "Joy baby, I love you. I'll only be with you the rest of my life, and I won't even touch that bitch."
"I'll take you to the formalities right now, and we'll get married."
Aaron went to the door and asked the reporters, "Please report the news as it is today."
He gave Clara a wicked look. "I want that bitch ruined!"
Clara is cold throughout.
Late at night. Clara was wandering along an empty and lonely street.
Ocean family has announced to the press that they are cutting ties with her. The reporters exposed her evil deeds. On the huge screen on the street, the figure of Mrs Ocean, her adoptive mother, was very clear. Her usual gentleness was gone, and she complained of Clara's "evil deeds" with disgust.
"One of the things I regret most in my life is not returning Clara to her birth parents when the truth came out four years ago."
"Clara was such a sweet, sweet girl and I thought the sisters would get along. But when Joy came home, Clara was different. It was a strange place."
Mrs Ocean dropped her eyes sadly. "She pushes Joy out of the family and steals her fame, fame and fortune outside. In order to stay in the Ocean family forever, she also drives out her biological parents by all means."
"Now that she has tried to destroy my daughter's whole life of happiness, I don't think I can tolerate it any longer."
The next second --
"I am officially saying that the Ocean family and Clara are no longer connected."
A basin of dirty water thrown down by her dearest mother was like the last straw to Clara, who was laughing like a madman in the street.
Ha, ha, ha --
Clara's smile was sad and hopeless, and she laughed and the tears came down.
It never occurred to her that the people who had ruined her reputation were the people she had always respected and loved. What a bunch of hypocritical and vicious people!
Clara heartache to the extreme became numb, the pain of the eyes became tough, glowed cold light. She wants to find evidence to prove her innocence!
Clara sensed the approaching danger as the car thundered behind her.
Her blood ran cold as she turned to look at the woman in the driver's seat.
Joy Ocean shed her always amiable appearance and looked at Clara bitterly.
"Clara, go to hell!" Joy put her foot down on the gas. The red car was about to devour the Clara like a beast with a gaping chasm.

He Thought I'd Never Leave
When he said he was being bullied, I believed him. When he kissed me on that rooftop, I thought he felt the same. When he asked me to transfer schools with him, I said yes without hesitation.
Then I heard him bragging to his friends: "She'd save her first time for me. Hell, she'd still be thinking of me on her wedding night."
The bullying was staged. The kiss meant nothing. He just wanted me gone—so his new girl could feel more comfortable.
He thought I'd beg. He thought I'd cry. He thought I'd never actually leave.
I left the country.
And ran straight into his stepbrother.
I Died While They Threw Her a Party
Their real daughter came home. She'd only been back two years. That's all it took to erase twenty-four.
When kidnappers grabbed us, I used my body as a shield. They beat me until something inside me ruptured. I was dying from internal bleeding, but no one could tell.
My parents wouldn't even look at me. "This is your fault! None of this would've happened if it weren't for you!"
"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."
They threw her a party at a downtown hotel while I died alone in my room.
I thought they'd be relieved. Maybe even glad. I thought they'd just move on like I never existed.
But when they finally learned the truth, they fell apart.
Bury Me in His Regret
The kidnapper pressed the gun to my temple and asked, "Choose your wife or your sister-in-law?"
Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.
He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.
Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.
When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.
"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."
The Kidney That Killed Me
A few months ago, my sister was hospitalized with kidney failure. The doctor said she needed a transplant. My family's first thought was me—the backup daughter they'd kept around all these years.
When my husband Allen took my hand with tears in his eyes and said, "Only you can save her," I agreed without hesitation.
When the doctor explained the surgical risks and potential complications, I smiled and nodded my understanding.
My parents said I'd finally learned what sisterly love meant.
Even Allen, who'd always been cold to me, held my hand gently and said, "The surgery's safe. You're so healthy, nothing will go wrong. When you recover, I'll take you to Hawaii."
But they don't know that no matter how the surgery goes, I won't be around to celebrate.
Because I just got my own test results—I have terminal brain cancer. I'm going to die anyway.

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.
