Introduction
"You must think you have a chance at happiness with my son," Mrs. Wilson sneered, "If you came here to see James, then where is he?"
My heartbeat increased as I stood there utterly confused while trying to grasp, "He wasn't aware I would be here, I came here to pay him a surprise visit so it's understandable if he is not here," I replied quickly.
"How stupid of you to think in that shallow way of yours Ellie, my son will never take you as a wife and that is why I believe he is out to pursue someone worth his time," Mrs. Wilson replied in a quick sharp tone.
"What do you mean by that Mrs. Wilson, what is going on, and where is James?" I asked angrily.
"I'm sorry, Ellie," she uttered in a voice filled with no remorse. "But James is getting engaged... to someone else."
Ellie's dream wedding crumbles when she learns from James's mother that he's engaged- to another woman.
Heartbroken but determined, Ellie throws herself into her law career, vowing to rebuild her life. With her best friend's support, Ellie takes on a career-defining case: a lawsuit against her ex's company.
Can Ellie outwit her ex's family in court while healing her own wounds? And is there a chance for love to find her again in the midst of it all?
Chapter 1
Ellie's POV
"So, when is the big day with James?" one of my friends inquired, curiosity dancing in her gaze.
My face beamed with joy and happiness as I sat amongst my friends while we all had dinner at a trendy restaurant. The soft glow of flickering candles enhanced the joy in my eyes as our laughter filled the air in the room.
My smile widened, a flush of excitement rising in my cheeks as I stroked my hair with my hands.
"We want all the tea, Ellie. What's going on with you two? When is the wedding happening?" another friend said, throwing it all out on the table.
"Oh, James and I have been talking about it," I replied, a hint of anticipation lacing my words. "I think he might be proposing soon. I saw a bouquet in the trunk of his car this morning." I said smiling so hard.
My friends erupted in joyous squeals, and with excitement, they all pulled me in for a hug whilst expressing how happy they all were for me.
"I have always known James wasn't one to play around, girl you got yourself a gentleman and I am more than happy to see you this happy, Cheers to this new chapter," one friend said raising her wine glass while toasting to my happiness.
"Thank you my loves, I am so excited also," I replied, excitement evident on my face.
We chatted all through the dinner, most of the topic was centered around me and James and how far we have come. After a long night, I bid my friends goodbye with promises for a future girls' night.
I have one more stop for the night before heading home and that's James' house. We haven't spoken since I saw him this morning and I think the silent treatment is because of the surprise proposal, maybe so I wouldn't suspect.
My heart somersaulted with anticipation as I made my way to his house. The lights of the city painted streaks of gold against the darkening sky, mirroring the warmth that bloomed in my chest.
James and I have been together since our college days and there wouldn't be anything more fulfilling than getting married to my college sweetheart, that would be a dream come true, and I couldn't be any happier.
Peering up at the familiar porch, I could almost hear the echo of his laughter waiting on the other side of the door.
And then, in the halting moment of a plane skidding off course, James's mother appeared.
"And to what do we owe this unpleasant visit?" Mrs. Willson inquired as her steps came to a halt.
My lips trembling and my eyes flickering, I mustered the courage to stand with a faint smile on my face.
"Good evening, Mrs. Wilson, how delightful it is to see you again," I said taking a few steps closer to her. She stared at me with a grimace on her face.
I know she doesn't like me!!
"Spare me the pleasantries, Ellie," she said walking towards the couch at the other edge of the sitting room. She took her seat, relaxing in the comfort of the couch without acknowledging my presence.
With my fist clenched tightly on my dress, I let out a loud sigh before taking my seat on the couch opposite hers. Controlling my emotions was a priority at the moment although I could not stand the attitude of Mrs. Wilson.
"I would like to believe you are not here for James," Mrs. Wilson said with a smirk on her face. "I hear you are still sticking around my son like a lost puppy and if I am right, I believe I have made it clear that you are not meant for my son." She added.
"With all due respect Mrs. Wilson, James and I are in love, we care for each other so much that we wish to spend the rest of our lives together, and all I ask is for your support just this once," I replied.
My hands trembled with anxiety, unsure of what cards she may pull out, I sat there in the silence that consumed the room.
"Aw... I am touched by that wonderful speech you gave, I think you deserve a Nobel Prize for that speech, I must say, I haven't heard something that captivating in a while." Mrs. Wilson jested with a grin on her face.
"I didn't come here to listen to you laugh about the love I share with your son, you have always disapproved of my relationship,"
"And I am aware of the fact that you want him to be with someone who suits all your standards and I am sorry I do not fit into your standards," I said in a low soft tone.
"Finally we agree on something, I am glad you now understand that you are not a match for my son, Ellie, so the earlier you let him go, the better for you because my son is better off without a girl like you," Mrs. Wilson replied.
"Well I am sorry to disappoint you, Mrs. Wilson, James will be asking me to marry him soon and I plan on saying yes to his proposal and neither you nor anyone else can sabotage our happiness," I replied with a teary voice.
The sound of her laughter echoed through the room as the laughter continued for minutes before bringing herself to a stop. "You must think you stand a chance at happiness with my son."
"If you are here to see James then why isn't he here?"
My heartbeat increased as I stood there utterly confused while trying to grasp and understand everything Mrs. Wilson was driving at. "He wasn't aware I would be here, I came here to pay him a surprise visit so it's understandable if he is not here," I replied quickly.
"But James is getting engaged... to someone else. I'm afraid you mustn't pursue this any further."

Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human
A Lesson in Magic
Claimed by the Alpha's Love
Four years ago, Fiona's meticulously planned conspiracy turned me from an ordinary omega into a prisoner carrying the weight of a murder charge.
Four years later, I return to a world that has changed beyond recognition.
My best friend Fiona, who is also my stepsister, has become the perfect daughter in my mother's eyes. And my ex-boyfriend, Ethan, is about to hold a high-profile mating ceremony with her.
The love, family bonds, and reputation that I once cherished have all been taken by Fiona.
Just when I had reached my breaking point, questioning the very purpose of my existence, the legendary Alpha Lucas of Moonhaven suddenly appeared in my life.
He is powerful and enigmatic, a figure that all werewolves hold in awe.
Yet, he shows an extraordinary persistence and tenderness towards me.
Is Lucas's appearance a gift from fate, or the start of another conspiracy?
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
