Introduction

"I tried to scream but I couldn't, everything happened so fast and they treated me like a toy." Leslie said hugging her legs.

"And can I ask what you were wearing that may have provoked them." the officer asked with a nasty look on his face.

"I-I uhh.. " I looked towards Mom.

"Did they touch you here." the officer said grabbing my mid thighs. "Did they grabbed you like this." the officer smirked while he caressed my back sending chills down my spine.

"Enough of this." My mom said as she held me in her arms seeing me getting panicked.

"Look, Mrs. Smith, I know things like this happens but we can't say it was their fault at all your daughter invited them by wearing those short clothes and was also drunk so these types of things happens when you are young." the officer said calmly like it was nothing.

"I was raped officer and you're saying it's nothing." Leslie screamed half sobbing.

Yes she was raped by the guy whom she trusted the most in the world. He tossed her to his friends like a toy and let them rape her until something happened, something that will change their life forever!

Chapter 1

LESLIE'S POV:

"You will be back home by midnight, you hear me?"

"Yes, ma, I heard you the first time."

"Your skirt's too short. You should change."

                "Mom, it's fine."

"Leslie, I don't like that boy."

"Okay, Mom, I get it. But Oliver's a really good guy."

"That's what they make you think. But I'm your mom, I know the truth." she said pointedly.

I love my mom. I really do, but she can be...overprotective. Her words would be emphasized more and she'd get all spirited on me.

Oliver really was a good guy though.

He was always a gentleman and he never once rushed me into anything. I like him. But my mom on the other hand...

"As long as the lover boy doesn't get touchy, I'm fine with him. When are you going to bring him home so I can give him a good ass whooping?" Jake joked.

My mom promptly smacked him aside the head with a dish rag when she heard him curse. Jake rubbed his head and smiled sheepishly at her. I could see the twitch of a smile on my moms lips.

I held my laughter at the two.

"I'll bring him over to meet Mom soon."

Jake rolled his eyes. "C'mon, Leslie, the guy's a piece of dry toast. Absolutely no flavor to him."

I smacked Jake on the arm. "Don't talk about him like that. He's very sweet."

"Right, whatever you say little sis."

      "Whatever, I'm heading out."

I gave my mom a kiss on the cheek and put on my black coat. "Be careful, yes?" she said as she patted my hair.

"Yes, mom. I'll be back before you know it."

...

I was only going to a house party.

Oliver said only a couple twenty or so people would be there. A small get together, he said. I drove slowly as I saw the street name of the address he had given me.

        It was completely dark out.

The streetlight barely gave any light.

But I didn't need any light to know that the neighborhood was almost completely abandoned. One thing I didn't mention to mom was the neighborhood the party was in. She would've never let me go if she knew. I heard the loud music before I saw the house.

Well, the only house that had light and any sign of civilization. People didn't move to this area because of the low security and high crime rate. I was no rich kid, but even my neighborhood wasn't this scary.

When I got a closer look I realized that this was no small get together. I parked my car a couple houses away because there wasn't any other place to park. Guess I'm walking. I took a deep breath and made my way over.

I could hear the clicking of my ankle boots on the pavement. I pulled my coat closer as a gust of wind hit me. My light brown hair was in loose curls.

I should've tied it up because the wind had my hair whipped all over the place. I got to the door and knocked but no one answered. I tried again. Nothing.

I twisted the knob to find the door open. The inside was so very different from the outside. There were strobe lights, making the house look like a club. Other teenagers were dancing and getting wasted. I looked around for Oliver. Once I found the kitchen, I recognized his light blonde hair.

             "Oliver!" I called out.

He turned around and spotted me.

He waved and motioned me over.

I made my way through the thick crowd of sweaty bodies. I stood right before him and he slung his arm over my shoulder.

"Find the place okay?" he whispered in my ear.

I nodded and smiled. "I thought you said it was a small get together though."

He drank from a red solo cup, "Umm yeah, guess word got out. Want one?" he handed me a cup even though I didn't really want it.

"Let me introduce you. This is Dawson, Corner, and Hardin."

        "Hi, I'm Leslie." I smiled.

"Oh, we know. Oliver here won't ever shut up about you." Corner said.

I looked up at Oliver and saw him blush. He cleared his throat and asked if I wanted to dance. I gladly accepted and noticed his friends smirked our way.

We were in the middle of the dance floor.

I didn't really do parties so it's safe to say I was awkward. I tried to dance to the beat like the other girls, but I'm sure I looked like a banshee. Oliver grabbed my hips and pulled me closer. I placed my hands on his chest to keep a little space between us.

We started to move to the rhythm.

His hands kept traveling lower and lower. I wasn't very comfortable with it. At one point, I felt his little friend through his pants. I excused myself and said I needed to use the restroom. He nodded and pulled us away from the other people. "I'll just go hang with the guys, kay?"

Before I could say anything, he turned and left. I found the bathroom on the second floor. I washed my face and touched up my hair. But what I really needed was to leave because his advances were getting out of hand. When I opened the door I saw two girls wobbling down the hall.

"Hey, is that the bathroom?" one of them slurred.

"Yea, it's all yours." I held the door open.

              "Thanks." she hiccuped.

               Yep, I'm so outta here.

I was walking down the stairs when I saw Oliver approaching. "Hey, there you are. Where you going?"

"I think I'm gonna call it a night. I'm kinda tired and I have a curfew so.."

"Wait, we didn't get to have any fun." he pouted.

"It was fun, really, but I have to go home now." Oliver walked closer and closer until there was only a few inches between us.

He leaned against the wall, trapping me. "Don't be like that, Leslie." I could smell the strong scent of alcohol from him.

        I pushed him away gently.

"I have to go." I walked past him but he grabbed my forearm.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."

When the doctor explained the surgical risks and potential complications, I smiled and nodded my understanding.

My parents said I'd finally learned what sisterly love meant.

Even Allen, who'd always been cold to me, held my hand gently and said, "The surgery's safe. You're so healthy, nothing will go wrong. When you recover, I'll take you to Hawaii."

But they don't know that no matter how the surgery goes, I won't be around to celebrate.

Because I just got my own test results—I have terminal brain cancer. I'm going to die anyway.
