Finding My IVF Baby Belonged to My Husband and His Mistress
Lovella Novela · Ongoing · 113.8k Words
Introduction
"She deserves it," Adrian replied, followed by his friend's laughter. "She's the reason why Serena broke up with me back then."
What would you do if your husband used your womb to have children with his ex?
Wendy sacrificed everything for her marriage. She endured endless hormone shots, cruel whispers, and quiet humiliation, all to give her husband the children he wanted. When the IVF finally succeeded, she believed she had saved her marriage.
Until the day she overheard the truth. The twins she had fought so hard to carry were never meant to be hers. Her husband never wanted a child with her. She was nothing more than a surrogate in her own marriage.
Determined to find answers, Wendy stormed into the hospital. Fate delivered a twist no one could have seen coming: her husband was severely infertile. The IVF had failed. The babies growing inside her belonged to another man.
Wendy walked away with no tears and no second chances.
But Adrian, the man who once betrayed her, came begging for reconciliation.
"Wendy, we can fix this. We can start over."
Too late.
Because somewhere in the same city, Julian Harrington, the untouchable, relentless, and enigmatic CEO who rules the city's business empire, is searching for the mother of his twins.
Chapter 1
WENDY'S POV
"I can't believe that you could do something like that to your wife." I froze, and my hand was left hanging in the air, the one that was supposed to knock, even though I already noticed that the door was slightly open. That was Troy's voice, the friend of my husband, Adrian. I went to his office to bring the food I ordered on my way here after coming from the hospital and finding out that I was pregnant with twins through IVF.
"Damn, man. You're so heartless for using the embryo that you and Serena made and letting Wendy think that the children she's carrying are hers."
I covered my mouth when I heard that. The word "shock" wasn't enough to describe what I was feeling right now. I bowed my head to look at my stomach. I waited so long to get pregnant.
"She deserves it," Adrian replied, followed by Troy's laughter. "She's the reason why Serena broke up with me back then. She's also the reason why the woman I love the most left the country."
Even though I was hurting, even though it felt like my heart was being stabbed by millions and millions of needles, I stayed standing by the door. My body went stiff, but I could feel my knees weakening.
What were the past months that we spent together for, the months I thought he was worried about me? I thought he was there beside me to support me.
During my check-up a few months ago, I was diagnosed with blocked fallopian tubes. The pain I felt was overwhelming at the thought that I would never be able to have a child. I was extremely sad because I thought that I no longer had any chance to at least help Adrian in any way. As the only son, his family depended on him to produce an heir.
I never thought that I would have that kind of condition. But Adrian never lost hope. He comforted me, and he suggested IVF. The whole time, I thought he was being a good husband. Loving and supportive.
In the following months, I endured the egg retrievals, hormone treatments, and all the medication needed because I thought it would all be worth it. That after years of being together, Adrian and I would become a complete family.
"So what are you planning to do after Wendy gives birth? Can you hide all of that? Is Serena okay with your children calling another woman 'Mommy'?" My attention returned to the two people talking inside.
My tears finally fell as my hands clenched when I heard Adrian's answer. "I'll find a way to divorce Wendy without affecting the whole Montgomery. But while that hasn't happened yet, I'll slowly bring the children closer to Serena while distancing him from Wendy. For now, the situation is really difficult, especially for Serena. But I'll make sure to make it better for her."
I thought he was concerned about me. I thought he truly wanted to have a child with me.
But I was wrong. The children in my womb are not mine! Adrian just made me a surrogate for his children with his mistress!
I could no longer bear to listen to their conversation. Everything became clear to me: Adrian never loved me.
I felt out of my mind as I turned around and walked away, until I finally made it out of the company. All this time, I endured all the abuse from the Montgomery family. I endured Adrian's coldness and his disregard for me before, thinking that was just how he was. I never imagined he would blame me for Serena leaving. I had no idea that Serena had already returned and that they were now together again.
Once again, I held my stomach. I was waiting for this to happen. I was excited to become a mother, but why did it have to be like this?
My tears continued to fall. I decided to return to the hospital and find out the truth.
When I arrived at my doctor's room, the door was ajar, and there I heard the doctor and the nurse, both sounding scared and panicked.
"What should I do, doc? The wrong embryo was given to Mrs. Montgomery."
I suddenly froze. Just earlier, I found out that the babies I was carrying weren't mine, and now I'm hearing that they made another mistake?
"What do you mean?" the doctor asked in confusion.
"The embryo doesn't belong to Mr. Montgomery but to another man."
I felt the air being pulled out of my lungs when I heard that. But I quickly composed myself.
I thought about Adrian's plan, wasn't what happened now even better? The children he thought were his actually belonged to another man?
But what about me? Would Serena still be the babies' mother? That couldn't be, I needed to know the truth.
"Doctor," I said as I opened the door, and both of them looked at me. Shock was evident on their faces.
"Mrs. Montgomery, how long have you been there?" the doctor asked, trying to compose himself and relax, while I noticed the nurse trembling.
"I want to know the truth," I said.
They had no choice but to tell me everything that happened. The nurse closed the door, and we sat facing each other.
"Mr. Montgomery's sperm is not good. During our initial trial, even before the transfer, the embryo already failed. The success of the implanted embryo came from your egg cell and the sperm cell of someone else the nurse accidentally took from the freezer."
The doctor was extremely nervous as he explained. But I didn't pay attention to that anymore because I focused more on what he said first: Adrian's sperm isn't good enough to produce an heir. I wanted to laugh out loud because of what I found out.
But not yet, I still had a problem to face.
"What about mine?" I asked.
"Perfectly healthy, that's why you got pregnant," the doctor replied.
"So, you're telling me that the babies are mine?" I asked to be sure, even though I already knew the truth.
"Yes, we used your own egg cell. But if you want to be certain, we can conduct a maternity test."
"It's okay, I believe you." The last time, Adrian wasn't around and was out of the country, so he didn't know about my new egg retrieval.
"But I want to know the father of my children."
"Mrs. Montgomery, that's not allowed—"
"It was your negligence. Do you want everyone to know about this?" I never thought I could be this cruel. Not even once did I threaten or intimidate anyone.

I thought I was waiting for love. Instead, I got fucked by a beast.
My world was supposed to bloom at the Moonshade Bay Full Moon Festival—champagne buzzing in my veins, a hotel room booked for Jason and me to finally cross that line after two years. I’d slipped into lacy lingerie, left the door unlocked, and lay on the bed, heart pounding with nervous excitement.
But the man who climbed into my bed wasn’t Jason.
In the pitch-black room, drowned in a heady, spicy scent that made my head spin, I felt hands—urgent, scorching—searing my skin. His thick, pulsing cock pressed against my dripping cunt, and before I could gasp, he thrust hard, tearing through my innocence with ruthless force. Pain burned, my walls clenching as I clawed at his iron shoulders, stifling sobs. Wet, slick sounds echoed with every brutal stroke, his body unrelenting until he shuddered, spilling hot and deep inside me.
"That was amazing, Jason," I managed to say.
"Who the fuck is Jason?"
My blood turned to ice. Light slashed across his face—Brad Rayne, Alpha of Moonshade Pack, a werewolf, not my boyfriend. Horror choked me as I realized what I’d done.
I ran away for my life!
But weeks later, I woke up pregnant with his heir!
They say my heterochromatic eyes mark me as a rare true mate. But I’m no wolf. I’m just Elle, a nobody from the human district, now trapped in Brad's world.
Brad’s cold gaze pins me: “You carry my blood. You’re mine.”
There is no other choice for me but to chose this cage. My body also betrays me, craving the beast who ruined me.
