Chapter 1
Cheyenne was chewing on her burger. She appeared to be bored and lonely. Her complexion was awful and her hair was a mess, as if she hadn't taken a bath in days.
She had those adorable red cheeks that made her stand out amid the seated folks like a white tomato.
"Oh my God!" She pounded her face forcefully on her hand, already fed up with the food she was eating. Her memory quickly returned to the incident that occurred to her a few hours ago.
**Flashback
While waiting in the lobby for the manager, Cheyenne lips was busy moving the chewing gum up and down in boredom. It had been close to an hour now. She stared at her wristwatch in impatience.
"Miss Gemflord?" She promptly stood up as a woman came to call on her.
"That is me."
"You are next!"
"Sure," she replied, walking away with a very direct and sophisticated appearance. Cheyenne peered around, wondering whether one day she may look like this woman and walk like her; like a rich and employed staff.
When she knocked on the door of the manager's office, she was welcomed by a man and a woman's groans rather.
The manager and a member of his staff were having an affair in the office? When she tapped the door, louder noises could be heard again.
She gasped, "Oh my gosh," while covering her mouth with her hand. She was astounded and simultaneously surprised. This is a business, how could the manager stoop so low? He must be extremely frugal.
Now, she can't help but wonder who this manager was.
The groans abruptly ceased, and she knocked on the door as soon as she heard someone say, "Come in."
When she opened the door to enter, a woman slowly exited. She didn't look like a staff when viewed from head to foot; perhaps she was a woman from the club.
The manager was tying his tie while working. When he lifted his face to look at her, Cheyenne was able to see his face.
"You!!!" Her eyes widened in disdain.
This man; this slut; This filth!
She was asked out, then harassed by this creepy man she met at the club. He was quickly recognized by Cheyenne, who laughed unbelievably.
He glanced seductively at her and said, "Long time no see, um mm. (He looked at the file on his desk.) "Cheyenne Gemflord, nice name."
"You can take a seat,"
She now actually detests him more than she did the night before.
How is it possible for a man who is nearing fifty to behave this filthy?
She aggressively snatched her files off of his desk and irritably smashed them on his head.
"Do you believe I should apply for this position? You must be fucking kidding" She turned to leave, then turned around to look at him again. "Wow, think big because I'm gone."
The man let out a loud moan.
"Cheyenne, you'd regret doing this!"
Cheyenne came to a stop, turned around, and grinned uncontrollably as she looked at him.
"Oh, I wouldn't, I assure you." Before leaving his office, she mockingly said, "And don't ever call me with my name again; it's too beautiful for your ugly lips."
Presently
"What a bother," she sneered.
She paid for the dinner and got up to leave the establishment.
When she got home at night, she promptly threw her shoes in a corner. She pounded her body on the bed instead of even bothering to take a bath.
She took up her phone when it immediately beeped.
A lovely smile quickly appeared on her face as she read the message from her boyfriend.
Hello, — Lance
Hey, Cheyenne replied.
How was it, then?— Lance
"Bad," she replied.
"Why?"— Lance
"You won't believe the manager was the jackal I met at the party yesterday,"— Cheyenne
"So you killed him, huh?" — Lance
"I'd love to. I gave up instead." Cheyenne
"That's good, then. Given how exhausted you are from the whole day, shouldn't I leave you to get a good nap?" — Lance.
Cheyenne replied, "Yeah, I think that will work. "
"Well then, goodnight, my love," — Lance
"Goodnight, sweetheart," said Cheyenne.
As soon as she activated the airplane mode, she entered the world of fairytale.
************
Cheyenne's alarm clock rang loudly, waking her up.
She groggily got out of bed to use the restroom.
While grabbing her toothpaste and toothbrush, she fixed her gaze on the mirror.
It's time for another job search, Cheyenne, she said to herself. Before brushing her teeth, and giving herself two hard slaps for her to wake up from the mini slumber.
She checked her refrigerator after taking a shower, but it was empty. she sighed softly. She was seriously broke.
*************
Cheyenne was eating her breakfast in a restaurant.
She wished she could even get hired in the restaurant but almost all restaurants are not hiring, the ones hiring, pays just a little.
She rubbed her forehead with her forefinger. Everything seems so lost, like right now, she doesn't know what to do.
"But sir, the job would be hard," she heard a man's conversation.
"Not all women can agree to do it,"
Women? Her thoughts rang out. .
She promptly stood up to greet the man, putting her pride aside, as soon as he said, "Yes sir, right away," and dropped his phone.
"I can do it!"
In order to gaze at her, the man raised his head. He looked bewildered as he scowled at her.
"Pardon me?"
"I heard everything you said. You need a lady, right?" I know it's wrong to eavesdrop, but she had to.
"So?" He asked, raising his brows.
"I've been looking for a job that's right for me right now, sir."
"Sit down,"
"Thank you, sir."
She quickly took her sit.
"This is a very challenging job."
He said with a smile on his cheek,.
"As long as it isn't prostitution, murder, or arson, I am alright with it."
He answered, "No, it's not of a sort." and she smiled more broadly.
"All right sir, I'm listening."

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
