Introduction

On their third anniversary, instead of a gift, Bryce threw divorce papers directly at Rose’s face so his first love could move into their marital bed.

"Sign it immediately. Lily is back, and she’s the only woman I’ve ever loved," Bryce sneered, looking at Rose's faded dress with utter disgust. "I’ll give you a million dollars. Don't let my grandmother know you're struggling on the streets like a beggar."

For three years, Rose had swallowed every humiliation, scrubbing floors and secretly using her own connections to build Bryce’s empire from nothing. She loved him so deeply she willingly played the role of a poor orphan. But looking at his cold, arrogant eyes, her love turned to ash.

"Keep your dirty money," Rose whispered. She picked up the pen, signed the papers without a single tear, and slammed them onto the table. "Give me half an hour to pack. Johansen is nothing without me!"

An hour later, Bryce stood by the window, expecting to see his pathetic ex-wife crying in the rain. Instead, he watched in absolute shock as a limited-edition white Rolls-Royce smoothly pulled up to her. A man in a custom Armani suit stepped out, respectfully opened the door, and gently kissed her hand before she slipped inside.

Bryce’s blood boiled instantly. "She left with a billionaire? Who the hell is that man?!"

What Bryce didn't know was that the man wasn't just any billionaire. He was Dominic Cavendish, the most ruthless CEO in the country—and Rose’s fiercely protective older brother, coming to take the true heiress of the Cavendish empire back to her throne.

Chapter 1

"Bryce, you're finally home. I thought you didn't remember that today is our third anniversary. I made your favourite dishes. Come here, let me get your bag!" Rose Winter tried to take her husband's bag as usual.

But Bryce raised his hand to stop her. Rose watched her husband take something out of his bag and throw it on the table.

"This is for you! Sign it immediately!" Bryce ordered.

Rose looked at the document Bryce had just thrown on the table and gasped in surprise. She lifted her face and stared at her husband, breathing heavily.

"Bryce... what does this mean?"

"Can't you read? It's divorce papers!" Bryce yelled at Rose.

"Divorce papers? But why?" Rose asked with a trembling voice.

"You ask why?" Bryce laughed mockingly and said again, "Of course, because Lily is back. You know, she is the only one I love."

"You... you still love her? After she left you a week before the wedding?" Rose asked, her voice still trembling.

Bryce narrowed his eyes at Rose and smiled, "Yes. She explained everything, and I forgave her. So you'd better sign this letter!"

"Do you intend to go back to her?" Rose asked.

Bryce laughed at Rose again, "What do you think?"

"You don't need to worry. I won't let you leave empty-handed. Even though I know you only brought a few outdated pieces of clothing with you, I still have a conscience. Besides, I don't want Grandma to scold me because you're struggling out there!"

Rose began to feel annoyed at her husband's arrogant attitude.

"Does Grandma know about this?"

"Why does it matter if she knows? Do you think that will change my decision? Absolutely not!"

Rose felt her body begin to weaken, and she could barely stand after hearing her husband's words.

"Bryce, please! We don't have to get a divorce!"

Bryce looked at her with a cynical gaze. His lips were thin, his brown eyes stared intently at Rose, and his expression was fierce. Rose still felt her heart beating faster when she looked at her handsome husband's face.

"Why?"

"Because I love you, Bryce."

Bryce pushed Rose's head away with his index finger, "I've endured this torture long enough. I don't want to live in a loveless marriage with you anymore!"

"Huh! Do you think I don't know your plan? You deliberately approached Grandma and accompanied her so you could marry me. You deliberately made Lily feel depressed and leave me so that in Grandma's eyes, you would be the perfect woman to be my wife!"

"You're really cunning, Rose!" Bryce shouted, stunning Rose.

"Bryce, I didn't..."

Before Rose could finish speaking, Bryce suddenly raised his hand and said, "Enough, Rose! I don't need your explanation! I don't love you!"

"What are you saying, Bryce?"

Bryce turned to Rose, who was still frozen, and looked her up and down. Her appearance was so modest, with a dress that had been worn many times. Her long hair was tied back with a simple hair tie.

"Yes, your appearance does not reflect that of a CEO's wife!"

"Bryce, give me a chance. I... I will change until you think I'm worthy!"

Bryce didn't care about her words, and suddenly his cell phone rang. When he looked at the screen, he smiled.

"Lily, what's wrong?" Bryce asked cheerfully.

"Bryce, help me! I feel nauseous and dizzy, I think I ate something that triggered my allergies. Can you take me to the doctor?" Lily asked weakly.

Bryce's expression immediately stiffened when he heard this. He was really worried. "Lily, you don't need to worry. I'll come and take you to the doctor. After that, you can just stay at my house. I'll take care of you!"

Bryce hung up the phone and turned to Rose. "I'm going to see Lily and pick her up. I hope you'll have signed it by the time I get back! "

Rose is trying to hold back her tears, then she stood up and roared." Bryce, after everything I've done for you, all you care about is your first love? "

Bryce turned to Rose and said," I didn't ask you to do it."

"Enough! You'd better sign the papers so we can get divorced. There was a card worth a million dollars. Consider it compensation from me!" Bryce said sharply.

Bryce turned and left Rose standing there alone in shock.

After Bryce left, Rose looked down. She felt so stupid. She left behind a stable life and a family who loved her to become a simple, ordinary girl so that Bryce would not feel inferior.

She did all the housework, served the Johansen family, and accepted their humiliation. She even secretly supported Bryce to get him where he is today, but she never had his heart.

Rossie clenched her fists, her heart burning with rage. She took the pen and immediately signed the divorce papers, slamming them on the table.

"I've signed it. Give me half an hour to pack, and I'll be gone!"

'I sacrificed my precious life just for a jerk like you. Fine, if this is what you want, then don't blame me if I take everything back!'

'Johansen is nothing without me!'

That night, Bryce took Lily Jones to his luxurious home. He walked while embracing the woman without hesitation.

"Bryce, you and Rose aren't divorced yet. I don't think bringing me here is the right thing to do. What if she gets upset and misunderstands me?" said Lily coquettishly, acting as if she were the one who had been hurt.

"Huh! Don't worry, she won't mind. After all, this is my house, and the Johansen family has the right to make the rules here!"

Bryce then helped Lily sit down and shouted for Rose, asking his wife to prepare a room for Lily. However, after shouting several times, the woman still did not come.

"Huh! Where is she!" Bryce complained, then turned to Lily and said, "Wait a minute. I'll check the room first!"

Lily nodded.

When he was in Rose's room, Bryce found the divorce papers that Rose had signed, as well as the bank card he had given her earlier. Rose hadn't taken them with her at all.

Bryce checked the entire room and found that the bag Rose had brought into the house was gone, while the jewellery and wedding gifts were still in the closet.

"Huh! She's gone and signed these divorce papers, good!" muttered Bryce, then accidentally glanced at the window and saw Rose standing across the street carrying her bag.

A minute later, a Rolls-Royce stopped in front of her.

A man wearing an Armani suit got out of the back door and took Rose's hand, leading her into the car. Bryce rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn't dreaming. What he saw was real; that woman was indeed Rose.

"Rose left with a man who owns a luxury car? Who is he?"

"Didn't she say she didn't want to divorce me, but now she's with another man?"

Bryce clenched his fists in anger and took his cell phone to call his assistant. "Steven, find out who owns the Rolls-Royce with license plate A111."

Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
