I Stopped Crying: When The Alpha Father Fell To His Knees
Daisy Swift · Completed · 7.2k Words
Introduction
I smiled as I drank the burning pepper-water my brothers tricked me with. I held out my bleeding hands to take my father's cruel beatings. Even when they locked me in a pitch-black basement to die of a blistering fever, I thought that if I was just 'obedient enough', they would finally love me.
But as I lay dying on that cold concrete floor, something inside me broke forever.
When I finally woke up, I couldn't speak. I couldn't smile. I couldn't even stomach the sight of them. I no longer wanted their affection, their toys, or their love.
And ironically, the exact moment I stopped caring if I existed to them at all... was the moment my cold-blooded father and ruthless brothers fell to their knees in tears, desperately ready to give me the world just to hear me call them family one more time.
Chapter 1
After my mother abandoned me, I did everything to be the perfect "good pup" so I wouldn't be thrown away again.

...
The sky darkened until not a trace of light remained.
Rain began to fall, one hard drop after another. It struck my face so fast that I couldn't keep my eyes open. Water ran into my hood, soaked through my clothes, and found every gap. The cold sank all the way into my bones.
Adults passing by stopped to look at me.
"Are you lost, sweetheart?" a woman asked, leaning in to shield me with her umbrella.
"You should get inside," a man said, his brow furrowed in worry. "The rain's only getting worse."
I wrapped my numb little arms around myself to stop the shaking, but I shook my head. "I promised my brother I'd wait for him here."
Good pups kept their promises. Good pups got treats.
I waited until morning, but my brother never came back.
At last, Mr. Carter, our butler, found me. He looked at my soaked clothes and sighed.
"Miss Nora, the Alpha has been looking for you."
"Where's Caleb?"
"Young Master Caleb headed home last night. You need to come back now, or the Alpha is going to lose his temper."
I was hurt that Caleb had left me, but I was more afraid of making Dad angry.
I followed Carter to the car.
Before I stepped through the front door, I heard my brothers laughing in the living room.
"That idiot is probably still standing outside the mall," Owen said as he rolled a toy truck across the floor. He was the youngest of my three brothers. "She believes anything we tell her. Then she comes back and clings to us anyway."
Caleb, my middle brother, sounded genuinely puzzled.
"Why does she have to be my sister? Sophie next door is much cuter. I wish she were our sister instead."
Mason, the oldest, spoke in a low, disgusted voice. "If it weren't for her, Mom never would've left the pack."
I stood in the doorway, dripping onto the floor. A draft swept through the hall, and I shivered.
When my brothers noticed me, they looked away.
Dad came down the stairs. His first words were sharp.
"What happened?"
I didn't dare tell him what my brothers had done—tricking me and leaving me in the rain.
"I went out yesterday and got lost."
Dad's face darkened. "Didn't I tell you not to wander off? You were supposed to stay close to your brothers."
I twisted the hem of my wet shirt between my fingers. "But I waited where Caleb told me to wait."
Caleb cut in. "I told her where the driver would pick us up, but she wasn't there."
Taking Caleb's word without hesitation, Dad glared down at me. "And you still won't admit you disobeyed?"
He picked up the silver paddle.
"Hold out your hand."
I remembered the last time I'd disobeyed him. Dad had locked me in my room for a whole day, then gotten so busy that he forgot I was there. By the time anyone brought me warm soup and crackers, I'd already fainted from hunger.
I didn't want that to happen again, so I held out my hand.
CRACK!
The paddle struck my palm.
"Don't run off again. Do you understand?"
My hand shook. Tears splashed onto my burning skin.
"I understand."
"Louder."
The paddle came down again, harder.
"I-I understand!" I choked out through my heavy sobs
Dad left before noon for pack business.
Mr. Carter helped me change into dry clothes. When I went downstairs, only one slice of bread remained on the table.
Caleb made a face at me. "Little crybaby."
"You thought you could tattle on us?" Owen asked. "You really think Dad would believe you?"
My stomach was too hollow to argue. I kept my eyes on my plate, eating the dry bread as fast as my jaw could move.
To my surprise, Owen brought me a glass of water to wash it down. He had never done that before.
I was so thirsty that I didn't question it. I drank the whole glass.
"How does it taste?" he asked.
I smiled at him. "Good."
Anything my brother gave me had to be good.
Then my mouth began to burn.

Unwanted Mate Of The Lycan Kings
Ripped from her bed and thrown into a world of blood and treachery, Zirah’s fate is sealed, a forced marriage to one of the three Lycan Kings, each more monstrous than the last.
These kings, cursed by their sins, pride, greed, wrath, envy, lust, and gluttony are at war, fighting to claim their father’s throne. But the last thing any of them want is a queen.
To them, Zirah is nothing but a pawn, an object to be used, discarded, or destroyed.
But they underestimate her.
If they think she will cower, they are wrong.
If they believe she will bow, they will bleed.
And if they want to break her, they’ll have to survive her first.
Taste of Fate: The Vampire King's Human Mate
He reached for the back of my head and pulled me up just enough to reach my neck. When his fangs slid into me, the pain was instant, electric. I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t think. My hands found his shoulders, clawing for something to hold. My legs kicked. Tears streamed down my cheeks.
He moaned against my throat as he drank, and the sound was devastating.
Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.
Inked Adonis - Mafia Romance
Of me saying I want to climb him like a tree.
And he just. Texted. Back.
It's the dog's fault, really.
If this untrained Great Dane I'm walking had any manners at all, I never would've ended up here:
With my leash wrapped around the most gorgeous man I've ever seen.
Lucky for me, the guy is a good sport about it.
(Although his joke that “Dogs take after their owners” hits a little too close to home when Rufus starts humping his leg.)
He leaves me with his business card and a smile that makes my knees weak.
I'm still pinching myself as me and the bestie resume our walk.
“Methinks you had a little crush on him,” she accuses.
Not thinking and a little flustered by the whole experience, I reply, “I’d wrap my legs around his waist tighter than that leash.”
THAT'S when she reveals that she'd been recording my response.
THAT'S when she gives me the most devilish grin I've ever seen and says, “You're welcome.”
And THAT'S when she hands me my phone and reveals...
She sent the recording to him.
My heart is in my throat as those three little dots appear…
Then a text.
“PROVE IT.”

Thrown into Isteros Academy—a world of old money, blood money, and cruel social games—she's an outsider by birth and an afterthought by design. Her sister Solyn is the school's untouchable queen and Mara is her favorite target.
Everyone expects Atreus to treat his fiancée’s scholarship sister like everyone else does—as if she doesn’t matter.
Instead, his dorm room sits directly across from hers, close enough that she can see his light go out at night. Some nights, he climbs the old maintenance trellis just to check on her. He teaches her chess. He shows up exactly when something's gone wrong—and never once asks to be thanked for it.
"Don't fall in love with one piece," he warns her, over a board neither of them treats like a game anymore. "It punishes the person who only sees half of it."
Mara doesn't understand why the boy who's supposed to make her life harder keeps quietly making it easier—not until she realizes the anonymous stranger she's been writing to every week already has a name.
His.
He doesn't know he's writing to her, either.
By the time they find out, it's too late to stop what's already happening. Far too dangerous for anyone to find out.
In an empty studio, in the middle of a rainstorm, she asks him: 'Am I the kind of girl who kisses a boy engaged to my sister?'
He doesn't answer.
So she asks: 'What are we?’
He told her not to fall in love with one piece.
She fell anyway.
And he was never far behind.
Bonds at War: The Virgin is Mine
Perhaps then they would stop controlling my every move. Maybe my brothers would stop resenting me. Perhaps I wouldn’t feel so invisible anymore.
No one believed I could do it—not even my mate, Alpha Jaxon Trevane.
The night I planned to tell him... I found him tangled in bed with my best friend.
Heartbroken and humiliated, I left everything behind and went to Elite alone.
But the academy isn’t the fairytale I dreamed about.
Beneath the grand halls and traditions, a brutal game is being played.
The four ruling Alphas of the North, South, East, and West fight for power, dominance... and now, for me.
A virgin. Untouched. Unclaimed. The prize they all want.
There’s the mate who shattered my heart and swears he’ll win me back.
The brilliant strategist who wants me as his Luna.
The dangerous playboy who promises no one will ever touch me but him.
And the cold, possessive Alpha who watches from the shadows—and would destroy anyone who dares to take me from him.
But in a place where love is a battlefield and lust is a weapon... falling in love might be the most dangerous thing I ever do.
Welcome to Elite Order Academy—where every desire has a price, and my body is the ultimate trophy.
