Iced Warmth: The Alpha’s Trial Mate
Yeesha Yusuf · Ongoing · 30.4k Words
Introduction
I froze on the stage, the blinding lights burning my skin. I was Item 344, a slave, a toy to be sold to the highest bidder. My father had sold me, and now, I was being fought over like a piece of meat.
“Sold!” The auctioneer screamed, trembling with excitement.
I looked at my buyer. He sat in a wheelchair, his legs covered by a blanket, his face handsome but cold as ice. A cripple? I scoffed inwardly. I was a hybrid—half vampire, half werewolf. Even without an inner wolf, I had powers. I could control minds. I would wipe his memory, steal his money, and escape before the night was over.
“I’m not going anywhere with you,” I hissed as his guards approached me. I pulled out a hidden knife, ready to slit throats. But a sudden, overpowering dizziness hit me. My body went weak, my vision blurred.
When I woke up, I was in a luxurious car, bound by cuffs. The cripple was sitting next to me, watching me with predator eyes.
“Who are you?” I asked, my voice trembling.
“Your new master,” he replied calmly.
“You wish.” I muttered.
In a flash, his hand wrapped around my throat. He moved faster than any human, faster than any cripple should be able to. His grip was steel.
“You seem to forget that I own you now,” he whispered dangerously, his face inches from mine. “Act as my mate for the Alpha selection, and I let you live. Refuse, and I’ll kill you myself.”
I tried to slip into his mind, to control him, to make him let me go. I pushed against his mental barriers, expecting them to crumble like everyone else’s.
But I hit a wall.
Shock paralyzed me. I couldn't read him.
He smirked, as if he knew exactly what I was trying to do. “We’re home, Jaslyn. Welcome to hell.”
Chapter 1
Chapter One
Jaslyn
I slid my leg deftly around the pole, landing elegantly on the ground to the loud hoots and cheers of the masked men down the stage. I smiled brightly at them, my eyes scanning for the customer my boss had told me about. It didn't take long. I strayed down with purpose towards him, my steps matching the beat of the loud music booming in the club.
“You look dashing, Mister,” I purred seductively when I finally got to him, bending slightly so my cleavage was exposed. Holding his gaze, I pulled away the glass of wine in his hand and poured it slowly over my chest. It trailed down to my belly.
“The private booth,” the man finally said, his gaze moving leeringly over my body.
“I’m expensive.” I replied promptly.
I watched as he reached into the wallet, pulled out a wad of dollar bills.
“There’s a lot more where that came from.” He said invitingly. I scoffed inwardly.
My hands closed around the dollar bills, and tilting my head slightly I gestured him toward the VIP booth. I didn't need to turn to know that he was behind me.
The VIP strip booth was specially built for special clients, just like the one I was entertaining tonight. They were men who wanted exclusive treatment, and of course lots of ego stroking. I was good at giving both.
“Gosh, that was so beautiful,” he breathed, as I leaned over his table and poured a bottle of wine into his glass. His hand moved over my bare back, and downwards towards my ass.
I moved away smoothly with a forced smile on my face. “No touching, my love.” I whispered in a sultry manner.
“What if I pay more for it?” He suggested, crossing his leg over the other.
I didn't respond, and merely went back to the strip pole. “Then I'll think about it.” I whispered, and began twisting slowly.
I was about to continue when a sound rang out loudly, and above the sensual music that was playing in the background.
“Shit,” I cursed, and pulled out my alarm from the specially made brooch that was hanging on my neck.
I hurried over to my client, bent over and slowly rubbed on his chest while whispering in his ear and sliding into his mind, “I have to go. I had such a good time, babe.”
He didn't object just like I knew he would.
The rush towards the changing room had me panting when I arrived. Luckily, there was no one occupying it. I took out my plain blue body-hugging maxi dress from my bag and hurriedly got dressed.
“Leaving early?” Samantha, the club owner, asked as I closed around the path to the exit.
“It’s 1:00 am, Sam. Past my work time.” I chuckled.
She shook her head. “My bad. Client R complimented your services tonight, alongside our customers. I'll add your tip to your payment slip tomorrow.” She smiled.
“Sure. See you tomorrow night.” I was already halfway outside the club by the time the last words were out.
I barely flagged down a cab when a black bag suddenly covered my face, and someone hit me from behind, silencing the scream that threatened to slip out my throat. A sharp strike knocked me unconscious.
When I opened my eyes again, I was in an unfamiliar place, tied alongside other women.
“Sexy,” an unpleasant looking man said, his hand moving up and down my bare legs, while I pushed down the feeling of revulsion which crept up my throat.
“You’ll fetch a lot of money. At least enough to recover the money I lost from your godforsaken father.” He spat, disgust dripping from his voice. My eyes widened as I realized what was going on.
It was a line I'd heard so many times, and one I loathed.
“If you behave well, with any luck you'll end up with a rich Alpha who's willing to make you his toy,” he continued, moving around only to stop behind me. “Bring the black cuffs.” He ordered his underling.
My body was weak to even protest as he changed my handcuffs and locked it. I hadn't eaten for days now, and though I didn't really need food, I needed blood. That was why I was rushing from the club. I wanted to feed, but these bastards abducted me.
“Did my father sell me to you?” I asked the obvious, already feeling weak. The man glared at me. The other men addressed him as Gavlin. He was probably the head trader.
“Get up, bitch.” Gavlin ordered, his whip landing on my bare thighs. I flinched. Making a mental note to bury my fangs and claws in his throat whenever I got the opportunity to, I staggered to my feet. My body itched, and I felt dirty.
“You’ll turn twenty-four in a few days, right?” He asked, and I kept mute. A swift slap on my face made me change my resolve however, and I found myself nodding.
“Good. You're the perfect candidate.” He nodded in satisfaction, looking my body over. Revulsion, and raw anger coursed through me, as I spotted the desire in his eyes.
I was more or less naked, if the iron-like lingerie I was putting on could be considered as clothing at all. My breasts were pushed up in an uncomfortable manner, and my ass cheeks were on display. My blonde hair lay down in sheets around my shoulder, as Gavlin had ordered.
Gavlin turned to the other slaves, perusing them carefully. As he did so, my mind went into motion.
There was no way I was going to allow myself to get sold out for the second time. There was a knife currently nestled down my breasts, hidden by the iron.
I'd taken it from one of Gavlin’s underlings when none of them was paying attention. It'd remain there until the time was ripe to attack. And then I'd escape from this slave nest into freedom. I doubted if I had enough strength to get far before I got caught again. But I had to try.
I could control the mind of a taxi driver and order him to give me all the cash he had, if I got lucky. Or maybe…
My thoughts were brought into a standstill, as Gavlin pushed me and the other slaves into the large auction ring. I squinted my eyes, as lights poured down on us from all angles.
Before Gavlin left, he leaned down close to my ears and growled, “Don’t even think of escaping or messing things up, bitch. If you do, I'll chase you down to the end of the Earth, drag you back here, fuck you so hard, and then kill you.” He said, his stinky breath making me wince.
Once he left, my eyes flashed around the masked men sitting in the audience. Some were domineering, even with their masks on, while others were just…mediocre. My skin tingled however, when I suddenly felt an intense stare on my body.
A sensation which I'd never felt before began spreading around my body, starting from my core. I looked around warily.

I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.

**
I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.
How Not To Fall For A Dragon
Which is why it was more than a little confusing when a letter arrived with my name already printed on a schedule, a dorm waiting, and classes picked out as if someone knew me better than I knew myself. Everyone knows the Academy, it’s where witches sharpen their spells, shifters master their forms, and every kind of magical creature learns to control their gifts.
Everyone except me.
I don’t even know what I am. No shifting, no magic tricks, nothing. Just a girl surrounded by people who can fly, conjure fire, or heal with a touch. So I sit through classes pretending I belong, and I listen hard for any clue that might tell me what’s hidden in my blood.
The only person more curious than me is Blake Nyvas, tall, golden-eyed, and very much a Dragon. People whisper that he’s dangerous, warn me to keep my distance. But Blake seems determined to solve the mystery of me, and somehow I trust him more than anyone else.
Maybe it’s reckless. Maybe it’s dangerous.
But when everyone else looks at me like I don’t belong, Blake looks at me like I’m a riddle worth solving.
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

Once they are brought to him he finds himself once again facing his mate and discovers that she's hiding secrets that will make him want to kill more than one person.
Can he overcome his feelings towards having a mate and one that is so much younger than him? Will his mate want him after already feeling the sting of his unofficial rejection? Can they both work on letting go of the past and moving forward together or will fate have different plans and keep them apart?
Goddess Of The Underworld

Peace lasts exactly one lullaby. This is the story of an orphan pup who became a goddess by choosing her family; of four imperfect alphas learning how to be better. Steamy, fierce, and full of heart, Goddess of the Underworld is a reverse harem, found-family paranormal romance where love writes the rules and keeps three realms from falling apart.
Falling For The Biker: The Vice President's Girl
His eyes darken, flicking to my mouth.
"It's wrong. Your brother would slit my throat for just standing this close. But tell me, little bird" his breath ghosts my skin, "are you trembling because you hate me… or because you've wanted this just as much as I have?"
Wren thought she'd buried the chaos of New Orleans for good—the clubs, the blood-soaked loyalties, the men who lived and died by their kuttes. Seattle gave her everything she ever wanted: freedom, love, a future.
But one betrayal shatters it all.
Dragged home by tragedy, Wren finds herself under the watchful eye of Ezra Jax—the Raven Reapers MC's vice president and her brother's best friend. He's infuriating, dangerous, and far too tempting for a man she should never touch.
And the deeper Wren is pulled back into his world, the more she realizes nothing about her past—or about Ezra—is what she believed.
In the chaos of gang wars, mounting debts, and old betrayals, he becomes the one constant. The more she fights him, the harder she falls. And the more he pushes her away, the more lethal his pull becomes.
Because in this world, love isn't sweet.
It's brutal. Bloody.
And it's bound to break them both.
When loyalty is everything and love can cost your life, will Wren risk her heart on the one man she was never meant to love?
A pack of their own
The mafia princess return
The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.

But she doesn’t know about the child she’s carrying or that the moment she left, Domonic decided rules were made to be broken - and now will he ever find her again? Will she forgive him?
Let Them Kneel
Cast out by her pack. Forgotten by the Lycans.
She lived among humans—quiet, invisible, tucked away in a town no one looked at twice.
But when her first heat comes without warning, everything changes.
Her body ignites. Her instincts scream. And something primal stirs beneath her skin—
summoning a big, bad Alpha who knows exactly how to quench her fire.
When he claims her, it’s ecstasy and ruin.
For the first time, she believes she’s been accepted.
Seen.
Chosen.
Until he leaves her the next morning—
like a secret never to be spoken.
But Kaelani is not what they thought.
Not wolfless. Not weak.
There is something ancient inside her. Something powerful. And it’s waking.
And when it does—
they’ll all remember the girl they tried to erase.
Especially him.
She’ll be the dream he keeps chasing… the one thing that ever made him feel alive.
Because secrets never stay buried.
And neither do dreams.
The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.
