Introduction
My plan was perfect. Use our alliance as my shield. Keep my secrets—the art, the healing, the power—hidden until the right moment. But my one miscalculation was him. The man I thought would be my pawn is turning into my addiction.
Now the world is discovering who I truly am, and the line between our game and reality is breaking. He agreed to play by my rules, but now he wants to change them. He doesn’t just want to be my kingmaker; he wants to be the king of my heart.
Chapter 1
River City, night.
A desolate, rundown alley. During the day, it's nearly deserted, and at night, it's even more silent and eerie, devoid of any human presence.
The cold white moonlight spills onto the moss-covered cobblestone path. A stray cat, sniffing around for food, heads deeper into the alley.
Within seconds, the cat's eyes widen in shock, its back arching in fright.
In front of it lies the still-warm body of a young girl.
Malnourished and frail, with disheveled long hair, a filthy T-shirt, and red, swollen marks around her neck.
But then, something even more astonishing happens—the corpse's fingers twitch, and her eyes open.
"Am I reborn?"
The girl slowly sits up from the ground, her pale lips parting slightly, her voice as cold and clear as a bell.
Golden hair flows in the moonlight, giving off an eerie yet enchanting aura.
The name of this body is Amelia Martinez, and from now on, that would be her name.
Amelia tries to stand, but the body is too weak, stumbling with every step. With her current soul's strength, it would take at least a week to heal this damaged body.
Too long.
Just as Amelia feels a pang of disappointment, her nose twitches, catching a scent in the air. Her eyes light up as she lifts her head.
By the roadside, a sleek, black luxury car.
Michael Johnson is sitting inside, waiting for his assistant, Eric Allen, to return with the jade he sent him to retrieve.
The Williams family is hosting a charity auction tomorrow night, inviting the city's elite. Though called an auction, the items are actually donations from the guests' private collections.
The Williams family isn't spending a dime, yet they gain a good reputation and all the credit—truly a clever move.
Michael usually avoids such events, especially since he's not well-liked. But due to the family ties between the Johnsons and the Williams, he has to make an appearance and donate something, out of respect for Vaughn Williams.
As Michael looks down at his phone, he suddenly hears a knock on the window.
He looks up to see Amelia standing outside the car window, her appearance making him pause.
Amelia looks frail, about 5'3", with a small face. Her long hair is messy, and her face and clothes are dirty, obscuring her original features.
A beggar?
Michael hesitates, then reaches into his suit pocket, pulls out his wallet, and extracts five hundred dollars, which he extends through the partially opened window.
However, Amelia doesn't take the money. Just as Michael frowns and looks up, she grabs his hand.
Michael's eyes narrow, and he speaks sharply, "Let go!"
It's not that he minds the dirt; it's just that he's an unfortunate person. If someone with a weak constitution touches him, they could suffer anything from palpitations to a heart attack.
"I won't."
Michael is taken aback by her response. And her grip is surprisingly strong—he can't shake her off.
"I don't want money."
Amelia's voice is firm as she holds onto his hand.
Michael now notices that despite the dirt, her features are quite beautiful. Especially her clear eyes, which shine like glass.
"Then what do you want?" Michael's voice is low and steady.
Amelia suddenly leans in closer, whispering, "I want... you."
What?
Michael's expression freezes, and before he can react, he finds himself unable to move.
In the next moment, Amelia's lips press against his.
As their lips touch, Michael's eyes widen. All he can see are Amelia's slightly trembling eyelashes and feel their breaths mingling.
Five whole minutes pass before Amelia pulls away from his lips.
"Didn't anyone tell you to close your eyes when kissing?"
"Then again, this wasn't really a kiss."
Amelia mutters to herself. She straightens up, looking serious, "Anyway, I kissed you, so I'll take responsibility."
With that, Amelia digs into her worn-out jeans pocket, finally pulling out a shabby coin, which she forces into Michael's hand.
"This is a down payment. I'll repay the rest next time we meet."
"By the way, my name is Amelia."
It isn't until Amelia's figure completely disappears that the force holding Michael in place vanishes.
When Eric returns with the jade, he finds Michael in the backseat, breathing heavily, his chest heaving.
"What's wrong, Mr. Johnson? Are you okay?" Eric quickly asks.
"...I'm fine." Michael takes a deep breath, his eyes swirling with an unknown emotion.
"Eric, help me find someone. Search all of River City if you have to, but find her."
——
Michael, who Amelia had just encountered, carried a heavy and pure aura of misfortune.
Such an aura is intrinsic, a part of one's fate. Those born with it either suppress it to become exceptional individuals or succumb to it, leading to an early demise.
Regardless of the outcome, people with heavy misfortune are dangerous to ordinary people with weaker fates, bringing bad luck if they get too close.
But for Amelia, this misfortune is the fastest way to replenish her soul's strength.
After just five minutes of absorbing it, she feels her body becoming incredibly light, her soul's power coursing through her limbs, even her breathing feels invigorated.
Amelia finds a place to sit, sifting through the original owner's memories. Just as she finishes, the phone in her pocket rings.
Someone is calling.
Amelia brought the phone, an old model displaying the caller's name, marked by the original owner as: [Kevin]
A member of the Martinez family.
Amelia touches her chin thoughtfully.
An hour ago, the person who sent someone to strangle her—was it her never-before-seen "mother," or the sister who's currently involved with her fiancé?

Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."

Alpha Twins' Mate's broken Human
A Lesson in Magic
Claimed by the Alpha's Love
Four years ago, Fiona's meticulously planned conspiracy turned me from an ordinary omega into a prisoner carrying the weight of a murder charge.
Four years later, I return to a world that has changed beyond recognition.
My best friend Fiona, who is also my stepsister, has become the perfect daughter in my mother's eyes. And my ex-boyfriend, Ethan, is about to hold a high-profile mating ceremony with her.
The love, family bonds, and reputation that I once cherished have all been taken by Fiona.
Just when I had reached my breaking point, questioning the very purpose of my existence, the legendary Alpha Lucas of Moonhaven suddenly appeared in my life.
He is powerful and enigmatic, a figure that all werewolves hold in awe.
Yet, he shows an extraordinary persistence and tenderness towards me.
Is Lucas's appearance a gift from fate, or the start of another conspiracy?
King of the Underworld
However, one fateful day, the King of the Underworld appeared before me and rescued me from the clutches of the most powerful Mafia boss's son. With his deep blue eyes fixed on mine, he spoke softly: "Sephie... short for Persephone... Queen of the Underworld. At last, I have found you." Confused by his words, I stammered out a question, “P..pardon? What does that mean?”
But he simply smiled at me and brushed my hair away from my face with gentle fingers: "You are safe now.”
Sephie, named for the Queen of the Underworld, Persephone, she's quickly finding out how she's destined to fulfill her namesake's role. Adrik is the King of the Underworld, the boss of all bosses in the city he runs.
She was a seemingly normal girl, with a normal job until it all changed one night when he walked through the front door and her life changed abruptly. Now, she finds herself on the wrong side of powerful men, but under the protection of the most powerful among them.
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
Accidentally Crossing the Tycoon
Four years ago, the Bailey family faced a devastating financial crisis.
Just when bankruptcy seemed inevitable, a mysterious benefactor emerged, offering salvation with one condition: a contract marriage.
Rumors swirled about this enigmatic man—whispers claimed he was hideously ugly and too ashamed to show his face, possibly harboring dark, twisted obsessions.
Without hesitation, the Baileys sacrificed me to protect their precious biological daughter, forcing me to take her place as a pawn in this cold, calculated arrangement.
Luckily, in those four years, the mysterious husband never asked to meet in person.
Now, in the final year of our arrangement, the husband I've never met is demanding we meet face to face.
But disaster struck the night before my return—drunk and disoriented, I stumbled into the wrong hotel room and ended up sleeping with the legendary financial mogul, Caspar Thornton.
What the hell am I supposed to do now?
