Mr. Kensington's Glamorous Ex-Wife

"Gabriel, don't you think this is a bit much? Ms. Clark might be upset if she finds out."

"That's exactly why I married her. Don't worry, I'll make it up to her."

Natalie Clark stood frozen by the door, hearing the soft, gentle female voice and the deep, familiar male voice.

Half an hour ago, someone had sent her a photo. In it, a man and a woman were leaning against each other, eyes closed, looking all cozy and in love.

The woman was Alyssa Davis, and the man was Natalie's husband of three years, Gabriel Kensington.

Natalie had a rare Rh-negative blood type, and so did Alyssa. Three years ago, Alyssa got seriously ill and needed Rh-negative blood urgently. Natalie was a match and agreed to donate. When Gabriel asked what she wanted in return, she hadn't really thought about it. But seeing Gabriel's handsome face, she jokingly said she wanted to marry him.

It was just a joke, but Gabriel actually proposed.

After they got married, Natalie became a regular blood donor for Alyssa, never once complaining.

Gabriel was always cold and distant, and Natalie thought he was like that with everyone. A single photograph shattered that perception. He married her because of her Rh-negative blood type. She had always known that, but she held onto some fantasies. Now it appeared that this marriage had been lopsided from the beginning.

Natalie felt a pang of bitterness. She took out her phone and dialed a number.

The call took a long time to connect, and the person on the other end didn't speak. Natalie felt extremely upset.

"Hey, it's me, Natalie," she said, her voice choked up.

The man on the other end sighed deeply and said in a low voice, "Where are you?"

Natalie didn't answer. She hung up, took a deep breath, and wiped away her tears.

She had something to do before she went back.

Natalie turned and left. In the ward, Alyssa, lying in bed, saw the figure at the door leave and curled her lips into a smile.

Gabriel's deep eyes and chiseled features made him look even more stern and handsome. He stood by the bed, looking at Alyssa's pale face, and frowned.

"Don't be so reckless next time. Natalie's given blood a few times this month already. Any more and she'll be wiped out," Gabriel said.

Alyssa lowered her head, looking very fragile. "I'm sorry. If Ms. Clark doesn't want to donate blood, I'll be fine..."

"She won't refuse."

Gabriel's dark eyes flickered. He picked up his phone and sent a message to Natalie. He waited for a long time, but the person who usually responded almost instantly didn't reply this time.

Could she be busy?

Gabriel frowned and called her directly.

The call took a long time to connect. He was getting impatient when the voice on the other end spoke first, "Mr. Kensington, I have something to tell you."

Natalie's voice was cold. For some reason, Gabriel felt something unusual.

He lowered his voice, "Come to the hospital first."

"No," she directly refused.

Gabriel was stunned. She had never contradicted him before. What was going on?

His frown deepened, and he heard Natalie continue, "Come to the courthouse first. I'll give you thirty minutes."

With that, she hung up.

Gabriel's eyes darkened, feeling dissatisfied with Natalie's disobedience. But he didn't show it. He glanced at Alyssa and said softly, "I have something to do. I'll be back later."

He was itching to find out what Natalie was getting into!
