Wumi Writes · Ongoing · 164.9k Words
Introduction
Now a college student, Emilia is no longer the timid girl from the past. She has grown, yet her feelings for Niklas remain unchanged. But he still sees her as his best friend’s little sister off-limits, untouchable. Or so she thinks. When fate forces them into close proximity, stolen glances turn into lingering touches, and unspoken words become impossible to ignore. Niklas, who has always kept his distance, begins to see her in a new light.
But love isn’t easy, especially when secrets, misunderstandings, and the fear of crossing a line threaten to tear them apart. As their undeniable chemistry ignites, Emilia is left wondering, will she finally become the woman he chooses, or is she destined to remain just a childhood memory?
Chapter 1
CHAPTER 001
Emilia's POV
I can't believe this is happening. Niklas, my older brother's best friend, is staying in my place. He's not just staying for a few hours, but potentially for weeks. It all started when his apartment flooded, and now he's here, taking up space in my kitchen, living room, and, worst of all, my heart.
For years, I’ve hidden my affections for him. After all, he’s always seen me as the little sister, the obnoxious kid who needed protection. But now? Now, he's living under my home, and it’s playing with my psyche. My stomach turns every time I see him. I feel as though I have a fresh perspective on him, but the issue is that he most likely only sees me as the child who used to follow him around.
Here he is, seated at the kitchen table, appearing too close, too at ease. I want to maintain my composure and act normally, but how can I do so when his presence makes it difficult for me to breathe? It still makes my heart race to see him wearing that old jacket that used to smell like him when we were younger.
"Are you still going to finish your homework tonight, Emilia?" Niklas asks, jolting me out of my reverie. Even though his voice is low and playful, there's something about it that chills me.
"Yeah. I suppose,” I murmur, feigning to concentrate on my book. However, I'm not thinking about the homework. He is to blame. I sense that he is watching me intently. My heart races with excitement. Was that my imagination?
His presence has always been there, so it's like reliving my childhood. However, things are different now. I feel like I don't know how to behave around him, which makes me feel uncomfortable.
"When do you think we'll fix the flood?" I try to sound informal as I ask.
He shrugs, but there's a flicker in his eyes. “I don’t know. It could be a while. Guess I’m stuck here for the long haul.”
I laugh uncomfortably. “Guess you’re stuck with me, huh?”
He chuckles, but it’s strained, almost like he’s holding something back. "Yeah, I guess so.” His eyes linger on me a little too long, and for a second, my breath catches. Did he feel that? Was it just my imagination?
I quickly look away, pretending to focus on my homework again, but my heart is pounding in my chest. He's sitting so close, and I can feel the heat of his body only a few feet away, making it difficult to focus. Every move he makes seems to echo in the quiet room. I can’t stop noticing him.
Later that night, when we find ourselves in the kitchen together, the atmosphere seems more dense. It’s just the two of us, and the silence is deafening. I’m standing at the counter, trying to ignore the fact that he’s so close that I can hear the faint sound of his breathing.
“So, you’re really going to live with me for a while?” I ask, hoping to break the tension.
He nods, gazing over at me. There's something in his gaze— something that feels different. His gaze is not the usual casual one. This time, it’s… heavier. Almost like he’s looking at me, not as the little sister, but as something else.
I swallow hard, my throat dry. "I don't mind. It's okay, really. I'm capable of managing it.
Even though we are still a good foot apart, I can feel the heat between us as he takes a step closer. His hand brushes against mine by accident, and it’s like an electric shock races through my veins.
I glance up at him, my heart pounding. His eyes are locked on mine, and for a second, I think he’s going to say something, maybe even lean in. But then, just as quickly, he looks away.
"Sorry, I didn’t mean to—" Uncomfortably, he runs a hand through his hair to stop himself.
My stomach sinks. Did I dream that? Did he experience that as well? What caused him to abruptly pull away?
“Um, no problem,” I say, trying to sound casual, even though I feel like I might collapse at any moment.
He doesn’t say anything else; he simply turns to the fridge and gets out a bottle of water. The stillness is smothering, and I can’t help but worry whether I’ll ever know what’s going on in his thoughts.
The whole night feels like a haze. Every time I look at him, I get the strange feeling that things have changed between us. But is it just me? Is he aware of me in that way? Or am I seeing things in my head?
Later, I lie in bed with my mind racing while I stare at the ceiling. I still remember the moment his eyes met mine. Could he view me as something more than his best friend’s little sister? Or was it all in my head?
What does this unexpected intimacy signify for us? What if I'm merely dreaming and hoping for something that will never materialize? My chest hurts at the thought.
The question keeps coming up in my head, and I'm not sure how long I lie there.
How does he feel?
And will he ever let me know?
The night seems to go on forever. My mind is racing with uncertainties and questions as each hour drags on. The fact that Niklas is here, sharing my space, is only making things more difficult.
As I attempt to ignore the possibility that there is more between us, I can feel my heart thumping in my chest. But I sense it whenever I'm with him. I sense the draw. Furthermore, I'm not sure how long I can ignore it.
However, how long can I continue to act as though such an attitude is the norm? What if I let these emotions emerge and push him away?
I can't get it off my mind. I'm not sure how to stop, either.
Does he also sense it? Or am I perhaps misunderstanding something here?

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

The Contract Wife: Marriage Of Malice
He didn't finish. He didn't need to.
I didn't tell him to stop.
Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.

From Sacrificed Slave to the Dragon King's Obsession
His fangs glinted as he gripped my chin, forcing me to meet his gaze. Dragon scales shimmered along his neck, breath scorching my skin.
"Your Majesty... I beg—" He shoved me onto the bed. Silk tore with a sharp rip, cold air rushing over my exposed body.
"Scared?" He smirked, palm sliding down my waist, fingers tracing slow, burning circles. "Yet you shiver... not from cold."
I lunged for the candlestick, but he caught my wrist, pinning it overhead. His knee forced my legs apart.
"When your father gave you to me," his lips brushed my ear, voice a dark rumble, "you were already mine."
On the eve of freedom after ten years of servitude, Lina Valeria stood one night away from reuniting with her betrothed. But Dragon King Augustus condemned her to the Abyss Mines on false charges—a trap forged from obsessive desire.
Augustus Ashenwing, Supreme Sovereign of Skyhold Citadel, is ruthless and feared by all races. His obsession stems from ancient grudges and dragonkind's most dangerous instinct: possessive desire. He demands her submission, binding her to his throne as his consort.

Yet this cold-blooded tyrant reserves all tenderness for her alone. He indulges her temper, bends his pride, compromises without limit—anything to see her smile. Gradually, her heart wavers. But loving him means betraying Kain, who waited eleven years. Torn between duty and desire, she drowns in agonizing guilt.
Love and hatred intertwined—a forbidden dragon romance in a realm of oppression.
The Dragon's Last Fae Queen
“Prince? Dickhead? Asshole? Or stalker?” A slow, dangerous smile curved his lips. “Maybe I should show you the one title I want you to use.” Before I could react, his hand closed around my chin, tilting my face up. His lips crashed into mine, hard, claiming, breath-stealing. When he finally pulled back, his voice was a rough whisper against my lips. “You could call me yours… because you are mine.”
From Substitute To Queen
Heartbroken, Sable discovered Darrell having sex with his ex in their bed, while secretly transferring hundreds of thousands to support that woman.
Even worse was overhearing Darrell laugh to his friends: "She's useful—obedient, doesn't cause trouble, handles housework, and I can fuck her whenever I need relief. She's basically a live-in maid with benefits." He made crude thrusting gestures, sending his friends into laughter.
In despair, Sable left, reclaimed her true identity, and married her childhood neighbor—Lycan King Caelan, nine years her senior and her fated mate. Now Darrell desperately tries to win her back. How will her revenge unfold?
From substitute to queen—her revenge has just begun!
Vengeance of the Forsaken Luna
"Bella." Ethan's tone shifted, taking on that warning edge I knew too well. "Faye is vulnerable right now. She's terrified you'll resent her, that this will divide the pack. The last thing she wants is for this baby to come between us."
"Then you shouldn't have done it." I met his eyes squarely, letting him see the ice in mine. "Go back to your son."
"For fuck's sake." He dragged a hand through his hair. "How many times—it was artificial insemination. They used my sperm, yes, but Faye and I never—"
Bella let out a cold snort. Such brazen lies. Her mate had an affair with his brother's partner, and his entire family helped force her out with nothing, all to make way for the mistress to take her rightful position. Poor fool—he thought she was just an unwanted adopted daughter, easy to dismiss and control. He never knew the computer genius he'd been searching for was his own Luna.
Since he'd tainted himself, Bella was done. She rejected him and reclaimed what was hers, rising to the top with help from Victor, who'd been secretly in love with her for years.
When Ethan tried winning her back: "You don't want our child growing up fatherless."
Bella smiled mockingly. "The child's father isn't you."
