Introduction
After going to great lengths to seek vengeance, she discovers that the real reason she awakened in Viona’s body was never revenge at all. It was to heal the heart of a man she had broken over and over again.
Chapter 1
The ringing of my phone nearly made my ears burst as I hurried down the road. Because I was busy driving, it was difficult for me to reach the phone inside the bag I had placed on the seat beside me. In the middle of that struggle, for some reason, my attention was drawn to a car parked by the roadside.
A man and a woman had actually stopped their car just to engage in indecent behavior inside it.
When the woman climbed onto the driver’s seat and sat on the man’s lap, I suddenly realized that I knew her very well.
Irene, my best friend, was unmistakable with her red hair, her figure, and her style of dress. I was certain it was her.
I stopped my car just to see who the man inside with Irene was. For a few moments, their kiss concealed the man’s face.
The next minute, they realized the car lights were still on. The man paused their kiss to turn them off, and at that moment I had the chance to see his face.
My heart pounded as I repeatedly tried to convince myself that it was not someone I knew so well, someone who had proposed to me just last week.
It was Jade.
Even though I wished it was not my fiancé.
But the license plate confirmed that it was truly him.
The anger in my chest reached its peak. I was about to get out of the car and confront them when a violent impact struck me, not only throwing my body forward but also flipping the car I was driving onto the road.
I was certain I had died in that accident.
I could remember that Jade and Irene had taken me to the hospital, yet when I was declared dead, they were not sad at all.
They laughed and celebrated after my funeral.
I awoke in the body of another woman named Viona Leander, while my memories remained those of Nadine Myer, a famous journalist who had died after catching her fiancé cheating with her friend.
I did not know why those memories were there. Had my soul possessed this wealthy girl’s body, or had I truly been reborn?
What was certain was that this felt like the perfect time to take revenge.
That day, I came to my resting place carrying a bouquet of flowers. I intended to tell the body buried there a month ago that I had been granted a second life in someone else’s body to uncover the truth about my famous fiancé.
Jade Mason, the wealthy businessman who inspired many people, who helped countless small business owners find their markets, was often invited onto television and had become one of the ten most influential men in Europe.
News of our wedding had spread across the country and had become the most anticipated marriage of the year.
They said the handsome Jade Mason, the young businessman with the heart of an angel, was perfectly matched with journalist Nadine Myer, famous for her beauty, intelligence, and hard work, which had made her the only journalist known by so many people like a celebrity.
That highly anticipated wedding should have taken place a week ago, making me the deceived Mrs. Mason.
I was grateful it had never happened.
I returned to my purpose: Nadine Myer’s grave.
And when I arrived there, I saw the figure of a man walking away from my grave.
I did not recognize him, nor could I guess who he was from his broad build.
What was certain was that it was not Jade.
Since he had already gone quite far, I did not bother chasing after him and focused instead on my visit.
“Nadine, thank you for giving me a healthy and strong body. As people say, you were intelligent, beautiful, and hardworking. You deserved someone far greater than Jade Mason. Does it not feel unfair that Jade is still so loved by many people when in truth he is a great betrayer? Perhaps I have risen again to put an end to that.”
I had not yet finished speaking to my own body buried beneath the earth when suddenly, from a distance, I saw many people coming this way.
Jade had come to my grave, accompanied by bodyguards and many reporters behind him.
I hurried away before they noticed I was here and questioned my connection to Nadine Myer.
“I loved Nadine very much. She always appears in my dreams, which is why I come here at least three times a week,” Jade told the reporters.
“It must be difficult for you to accept everything. You were supposed to be married a week ago. I am sure there are many regrets,” said one reporter.
“Death is God’s will. I do not regret the grand wedding that never happened. I am sure Nadine would not have wanted this either,” Jade said with the sorrowful expression he had fabricated.
To hell with his words. Jade had come only for his image, so people would think he was romantic, so they would assume he was a faithful man suffering from heartbreak, so even more women would admire him.
Watching him from hiding disgusted me. I decided to return to my car and go home.
During the trip, I checked my phone to monitor the public news about Jade’s sudden visit to his fiancée’s grave. Meanwhile, the car continued moving, driven by a chauffeur, because ever since the accident that had killed me, I no longer dared to drive myself.
“Jade Mason visits his fiancée’s grave in sorrow.” I read the ridiculous headlines lined up before me.
“Not only rich and handsome, Jade Mason faithfully continues to visit his future wife’s grave.”
“Jade Mason: If I could trade everything I have now, I would want Nadine back alive.”
I clicked my tongue. When had Jade said this? Had I missed this particular lie earlier?
Among the many headlines written by journalists, one negative title had risen to the top, read by many people and flooded with harsh comments.
“Jade Mason came to his fiancée’s funeral only to gain sympathy.”
The corner of my lips curled upward. Now that was the correct headline. Which journalist had dared to write something negative about Jade Mason? I had to appreciate that person.
I scrolled upward, trying to find the name of the journalist bold enough to attack Jade Mason with such a negative article.
And when I read the name, my eyes widened.
Nadine Myer?
Who was using my name to write this news?

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.

The Contract Wife: Marriage Of Malice
He didn't finish. He didn't need to.
I didn't tell him to stop.
Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.

"Bella." Ethan's tone shifted, taking on that warning edge I knew too well. "Faye is vulnerable right now. She's terrified you'll resent her, that this will divide the pack. The last thing she wants is for this baby to come between us."
"Then you shouldn't have done it." I met his eyes squarely, letting him see the ice in mine. "Go back to your son."
"For fuck's sake." He dragged a hand through his hair. "How many times—it was artificial insemination. They used my sperm, yes, but Faye and I never—"
Bella let out a cold snort. Such brazen lies. Her mate had an affair with his brother's partner, and his entire family helped force her out with nothing, all to make way for the mistress to take her rightful position. When Ethan tried winning her back: "You don't want our child growing up fatherless."
Bella smiled mockingly. "The child's father isn't you."
