Introduction

In my past life, I was a wild, pureblood witch who tamed my own nature for love, willingly playing the submissive, perfect Luna for my fated Alpha.
But to him, I was just a savage that "needed to be brought to heel." When enemy wolves ambushed us, he held my manipulative, magicless adopted sister tight, leaving me to be ripped apart.
When I opened my eyes, I had been thrust back in time to the day of our Mating Ceremony.
Staring at the white gown that symbolized nothing but my submission, I slapped a thirty-million-dollar price tag on my "fated mate" and sold him right to my sister.
Using a pureblood glamour, I sent her to the altar in my place. Then I hopped on my motorcycle and rode straight into forbidden territory—right into the arms of the ruthless, unhinged "Mad Wolf" Alpha. He didn't want an obedient pet; he wanted a lethal queen to rule the wild by his side.
That night, when my arrogant ex sealed the irreversible mate bond, lifted the bridal veil, and realized the woman eternally bound to his soul wasn't me...
The icy, untouchable Alpha who spent a lifetime trying to break me completely lost his damn mind.

Chapter 1

Fire. A soul-shredding agony.

I snapped my eyes open, chest heaving, cold sweat clinging to my slip dress. The familiar walls surrounded me, and the air was thick with the scent of pine and white sage.

No fangs tearing into my throat. No sight of Ivy's triumphant gleam hidden behind fake tears. No cold, retreating back of Cassian leaving me to die.

I looked down at my wrist. The subjugation brand of the Dark Moon Pack was gone.

I had been reborn.

Thrust back three years in time, exactly to the day of my Mating Ceremony with Cassian, the Alpha of the Dark Moon Pack.

In my past life, I thought the mate bond was a blessing. I restrained my wild witch nature, chopped off my fiery red hair, and squeezed into gowns to be his perfect Luna.

And what did I get in return?

His endless, suffocating rules. His bottomless favoritism toward Ivy. And finally, when the pack was ambushed, he didn't hesitate to shield Ivy, leaving me to be torn apart by the rival wolves.

True love is about respect and freedom, not control and modification.

That was the lesson I paid for with my life.

The door swung open. My so-called father, High Warlock Marcus, walked in with Ivy trailing behind him.

Fragile in a white lace dress, she bit her red-rimmed lip. "Selene, I'm so sorry... I know today is your big day, but Cassian said he'd prefer it if I was by his side. I really didn't mean to steal his attention..."

"Selene," Marcus interrupted, his brow furrowed as he spoke in his usual dictatorial tone. "Ivy is weak, and Cassian's pack can offer her better protection. As her older sister, and as someone with formidable magic, you need to be the bigger person here. Let Ivy stand beside Cassian today as his special guest."

I stared at them, struck by the bitter irony.

Last time, I threw a massive fit over this exact request. Cassian had publicly shamed me for it, calling me "spiteful and unworthy of being a Luna," marking the beginning of my humiliating existence within his pack.

Instead of yelling, I stood up. My red curls tumbled down my shoulders like an inferno.

I walked over to the wardrobe and pulled out a plunging, skin-tight black leather dress. It was Cassian's most hated outfit on me; he claimed it strictly "lacked a Luna's modesty."

"Selene?" Ivy watched me shift through my clothes, unease flickering in her eyes.

"You want him?" I turned to face her with a mockingly sweet smile. "Sure."

Marcus froze. "What did you just say?"

"I said, since Ivy is so desperate for protection, she can have the fated mate position. I'm giving him up." I strolled to my vanity and swiped on a vivid red lipstick.

"Selene! Stop this nonsense!" Marcus barked. "This is a political alliance between the Coven and the Dark Moon Pack! The mate bond isn't some child's game!"

"The bond? It's nothing but a tool for an Alpha to stabilize his own manic energy," I scoffed. "But don't get me wrong. I'm not handing him over for free."

I locked eyes with Ivy, relishing her dropped facade. "Growing up, our father dumped millions in magical scrolls and rare herbs on you—an adopted orphan with zero Coven blood—while his biological daughter got scraps. You want Cassian now? Fine."

I held out my hand. "Thirty million dollars. Plus the deed to the ancient ley line nexus in the West District. Give me that, and I will publicly reject the mate bond today."

"You're insane!" Marcus trembled with rage.

"I've never been more lucid." A lick of crimson fire danced at my fingertips, manifesting a floating parchment. "Sign a blood pact. It becomes irreversible. Either sign it now, or I tell the Council the Dark Moon Alpha is breaking a sacred treaty. What do you think those old fossils will do?"

Ivy turned ashen, looking to Marcus in panic.

Gritting his teeth, he pressed a bloody fingertip to the parchment. "Fine! But swear to never entangle yourself with Cassian again!"

The blood pact flared with a blinding crimson light before sinking into my palm. "Deal."

I didn't spare them another glance as I strode out the door.

"Where are you going?!" Marcus roared after me.

"To celebrate my rebirth."

I straddled the heavy motorcycle I had kept hidden in the garage during my past life. The engine's monstrous roar ripped through the quiet night.

I drove straight to The Crimson Moon—a chaotic, neutral-territory underground nightclub teeming with supernatural scum.

Deafening heavy metal drumbeats slammed against my eardrums as I walked in. The air was a thick cocktail of sweat and raw scents.

I slid up to the bar, ordered a glass of the strongest absinthe, and threw it back in one gulp.

The liquid fire ignited my blood. I shrugged off my bulky leather riding jacket, tossing it carelessly onto the bartop.

Left only in that skin-tight leather dress with the plunging neckline, every curve was highlighted.

Stepping into the center of the dance floor in my stilettos, I closed my eyes and let my body move wildly to the relentless bass.

My red hair whipped around me. Sweat beaded against my collarbones, trailing down into the deep v-neck of my dress.

There was no modesty here. No control. Just the primal instinct of a witch, repressed for three agonizing years, finally breaking free and tearing the night apart.

The temperature on the floor seemed to spike around me, the breathing of nearby patrons turning noticeably ragged. Greedy, wolfish stares locked onto my waist.

A towering nomad vampire, his eyes dark with undisguised lust and his throat bobbing, reached out to pull me against him by the small of my back.

I flashed him a wicked, crimson smile, just about to wrap my arms around his broad shoulders and go with the flow—

BOOM!

The speakers let out an ear-piercing screech as the music was brutally, abruptly killed.

A split second later, a terrifying Alpha aura crashed over the dance floor. The temperature plummeted. The air practically froze, crushing the lungs of every supernatural creature in the room.

The towering nomad vampire in front of me turned ashen. He yanked his hand back as if he had been burned, stumbling backward in absolute terror.

I froze in place.

A low, taut voice, dripping with suppressed, lethal fury, sliced through the dead silence.

"If you don't care to keep that hand, I'll happily rip it off for you."

My heart violently skipped a beat.

Slowly... I turned my head.

One day I'm dealing with cranky toddlers and parents who work too much to actually parent, the next my life is turned upside down and I'm working in a bar for supernaturals. I might not know how to mix drinks, but strangely enough the skills needed to deal with misbehaving children seem to work well enough on vampires, werewolves and even witches. The good news is this job is interesting and hey, my boss might be a demon but I'm pretty sure that under all the grumpy expressions he is a total softie. The bad news is that humans aren't supposed to know about all this magic stuff and so now I'm magically bound to this bar until I can convince them that I won't go telling everyone. Or I die, whichever comes first. Sadly dying is seeming more and more likely because someone is after me. I don't know who or why but they are dangerous and they have magic. So I'll domy best to survive, and if that means spending some extra time with my scary but gorgeous boss then so be it. I'll convince him to trust me if it's the last thing I do.

"White wolf! Kill that monster!"
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

503.1k Views · Completed · Jessica C. Dolan
Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé.
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.

They say your life can change in a heartbeat.
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
