Introduction

Kamila did not expect that she would be forced into marriage by her aunt to replace her cousin, who ran away from home. The wedding was to take place in two days. At first, Kamila refused, but Miranda, her aunt, pressed that her future husband was a mafia member. It would threaten their family if it was canceled. Kamila had no other choice; her mother needed a big operation to free her brother from prison. Miranda is willing to help, on the condition that she marries Gerald.

Kamila had to marry a man who had been in a coma for two months. Not to mention she has to take care of Gerald's adopted son. The unexpected thing is when Alvero, the son, asks Kamila to kiss his papa so that he wakes up, like a fairy tale Alvero reads.

Kamila is forced to kiss the man. Can Gerald wake up? What is the story of Kamila's life that is entangled in Gerald's family, who is known as a ruthless mafia?

Chapter 1

"What? Vira ran away. How could she? Why aren't you guarding her properly?"

The questions rushed out of the mouth of a middle-aged woman. Her pupils dilated, staring intently at the two men in black who looked down. The woman's jaw hardened as anger instantly rose to the top of her head. Her face was bright red after hearing the news, which was not pleasing to the ear.

"I'm sorry, Mrs. Miranda. We have guarded the door of the room well. We didn't leave the place in the slightest. However, when one of the maids here wanted to give Miss Vira some food, she saw that she was gone. It is suspected that she escaped through the window."

One of the bald-headed guards explained the chronology of events. What he said was echoed by the other guards.

"That's right, ma'am. We've done our best and tried to find Miss Vira, but she hasn't been found yet."

Miranda, the biological mother of Vira, was eager to break things right now. Her hands were clenched into tight fists. In fact, if pressed even harder, the nails could tear the surface of the outer skin of her palms. The bun-haired woman felt resentful; she had just returned from shopping and was surprised with this information.

"Fool! That's just like you guys being negligent, so you can miss. Hurry up and get that maid over here!" Miranda's tone rose three octaves. One of the two moved to call the maid who had given Vira the food.

Coming up to the master in fear—that's how the maid felt. The three of them lowered their heads, preparing their ears and themselves mentally for being attacked by the temperamental Miranda.

"Is it true that Vira ran away? Did you see her escape through the window?" Miranda asked, this time trying to ease up a bit.

"That's right, ma'am. I didn't see it. As soon as I wanted to give her some food, she was no longer in the room, and the window was open. I was also helping to search, but it seems like we've lost the trail very far. However, Madam, I found this by the window." The maid explained as she handed Miranda a paper folded in four.

The mistress grabbed it roughly. She opened it and began to read the lines written on the paper.

Mama, I'm sorry Vira had to run away from home. Vira doesn't want to marry that man. Vira wanted to tell them something: that she was pregnant with another man's child. If the marriage went ahead, they would be angry if Vira had been in a relationship with someone else.

Mama knew how dangerous Vira's future husband was. Even if it was canceled, they would still be angry, but please think of another way out. Vira loves Mama.

Miranda reflexively tore up the paper after reading the contents. The woman's anger rose even higher. How could she not? The biological daughter said that she wanted to cancel her marriage because she was pregnant outside of it. What mother wouldn't be devastated to hear that? What made Miranda dizzy was that Vira and her future husband's wedding were two days away!

What bad luck! Miranda was told to think of how to compose a sentence of apology that the wedding was canceled without having to threaten her safety because Vira's future husband was so terrible. The table beside Miranda became the target of her emotions. Her mind was really frantic at the moment. What was the right solution to the problem she was facing now?

"Get out of here, you useless bastards! I'm sick of looking at your faces!" I don't know how much emotion Miranda had, but she took it out on those workers who were irresponsible at work.

The three quickly left Miranda's sight. The woman pulled out her cell phone from her pants pocket and searched for her daughter's contact information. I tried to call her, but she repeatedly did not pick up.

"Ahh, where the hell did she go?" Miranda was annoyed, pressing her lips together.

A brilliant idea crossed Miranda's mind. The woman's face turned bright in an instant. One corner of her lips was pulled upward. With sure steps, she went back to the guard, who had just been expelled ten minutes ago.

"I know what to do."

Miranda went to her servants and told them to bring Kamila to her right now. The two guards obeyed and immediately carried out their master's order. Their journey to Kamila's house took only twenty minutes. The door of the shabby-looking house was knocked, and a girl came out from inside.

"Yes, looking for who?" Kamila trembled slightly when she saw the two cruel-looking faces of her guests.

"Sorry, Miss Kamila. We came here to ask you to see Mrs. Miranda right now." The guard, who had clipped his hair, explained politely.

Kamila knew now that they had been sent by Miranda. The girl asked, "What is it, sir?"

"Miss can speak to Mrs. Miranda directly. We don't know; we're just following orders." The bald guard answered.

When it came to Miranda, Kamila was starting to get scared. "Sorry, I can't; I'll be working the shift tonight." Kamila declined the invitation.

"Sorry, Miss. You must come now; otherwise, we will take you by force."

Kamila was unsettled by the threat. There was no other choice but to follow them. Kamila knew that Miranda's order was absolute; the threat was no joke. The three of them went to Miranda's house. When they arrived at her residence, Kamila welcomed them warmly.

"Hi, my niece. Are you well today?" Miranda showed a sweet smile. She invited Kamila to sit down.

"Good, Auntie. I hope you're well too," Kamila replied. Miranda is her aunt, her mother's younger sister.

"Unfortunately, Auntie is not well today." Miranda spoke wearily as she gently massaged her forehead.

"What's wrong with you?" Kamila asked, feeling worried.

"Well, just a headache. Vira ran away from home. Meanwhile, it's her wedding day in two days. The man my daughter is marrying is the head of the biggest mafia family! If that man finds out, he'll definitely kill our entire family." Miranda explained what happened.

"Then what should we do?" Kamila was also feeling anxious. Her forehead was deeply furrowed, and she was on the verge of tears. She was actually so emotional. Kamila was really whiny. Her aunt looked like her mother. Seeing Miranda show such an expression in front of her, she could hardly hold back the tears.

Her aunt and mother were twins. Kamila continued to stare at Miranda as if facing her mother. However, her mother was not as lucky as her aunt. Her aunt was married to a rich man and lived a luxurious life. Her mother did not have a good life. Her father was a farmer who owned a few fruit trees and a greenhouse filled with vegetables.

Miranda shifted her body closer to Kamila and took the girl's hand.

"You must be willing to replace Vira, married to that man."

On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.

George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.

His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

"White wolf! Kill that monster!"
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé.
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
