Introduction
"Tell me, are you working with those agents, perhaps, mingling in some thrilling covert operation?" he pressed further, his eyes welling up with tears, gripping Carly's arm.
"You're my girlfriend, Carly. You shouldn't be keeping secrets from me!" Landon shouted, his voice filled with frustration and hurt, his grip tightening.
"Pretended girlfriend, remember? But don't worry, love, our secret mission awaits!" Carly corrected gently, a mischievous smile playing on her lips.

When he hires Carly as his secretary, their paths unexpectedly intertwine, leading them on a thrilling journey.
However, their blossoming love is put to the test as Carly's past resurfaces, putting their lives in jeopardy. With unexpected twists lurking at every turn, Landon must confront his own secrets and make a heart-wrenching choice between love and his covert mission.
Will they find solace in each other amidst the chaotic circumstances, or will their concealed truths drive them apart?
Chapter 1
Two girls sat together in the club. One was obviously dressed as a waitress, the other dressed casually. Carly was sitting beside her friend who had just arrived from work.
"Carly, this place is always so bustling…and the music is too loud, how do you survive?" Jasmine, her friend, asked softly.
Carly stared at her, offering a sweet smile as she gathered the cups used by the former occupants of the table in a tray.
"You'd always just smile and not say anything. How do you cope?" She repeated.
Carly finally sighed, looking up at the ceiling. "Jas, I'm coping just fine. You know I will do anything legal to make ends meet, and I'll always keep my morals while at it."
"Yes. I know that… but, you cannot always stay here. You can also do something else." Jasmine suggested.
"Do you have another opinion?" Carly inquired, standing up after gathering the tray.
"No? See?" She chuckled, carrying the tray away. Jasmine sighed to herself. She would recommend Carly all the time, she was hardworking, and even though she didn't have the working experience, she was very good at a lot of things.
Carly took the used cups and empty bottles to the kitchen area, and went back to continue serving drinks. A group of guys that just walked in signaled for her to come. Carly sighed to herself. Perhaps leaving wasn't a bad option, but where else could she get such an amount of money, every month with little to no working experience?
"Nope, nowhere Carly." She said to herself. "You just have to keep up with this."
She walked over to the table they chose, and offered them a smile.
"Good evening, what would you like to drink?"
"Yo, check this out!" A guy chuckled. He seemed to be the noisiest leader of the group. "Such a hottie, serving us a hot drink!"
"Yo! Man! That was good!" Another hailed him. The group of friends began to laugh, giving each other high-fives and fist bumps. Carly stood, trying her best to maintain her smile.
"Yeah, sweetheart could you just get us six bottles of beer, and a bottle of rum?"
Carly smiled stiffly. Sweetheart? She knew this type of man. They always wanted to use every woman they met at a club. Well, they surely did run out of luck today. She chuckled within her.
Excusing herself, she went to the bartender to get their order.
Jasmine tried to get her attention, but she couldn't really answer her. She went and grabbed their order, and returned to serve them.
"Six bottles of beer, and a bottle of rum." She placed them on the table. "Anything else?"
"Yeah, well. How about you place your pretty ass over the table as well. So I can taste you, no?" He taunted. The other men laughed, and so did he. Carly smiled firmly at them. Then she chuckled wryly, and made to leave. The man grabbed her wrist, to prevent her from leaving.
"What you get off me!" She tried to free herself, but the man only tightened his grip. "You don't want to do this, you will regret it!" She threatened.
The men laughed in deep and unappreciated mockery. They didn't understand how she could have the boldness to threaten all six of them.
"C'mon, sweetheart. Don't be like that. See, your other friends do this, and if we like them, we give them a little tip too." He said, still laughing.
Carly closed her eyes, breathing deeply. She could feel anger surging within her, and she knew it wasn't going to be a pretty sight at all.
"Well, sir. I am not them, and I certainly will not bring myself that low to strip on a table for a bunch of lowlife drunkards." She said firmly. "Now, get off me!" She grunted as she pulled her hand away.
She made to leave, but the Man got up, and pulled her backwards, causing her to crash into his body. He let out a disgusting moan. Carly could feel the anger reach to the top of her head. Okay, being the good girl was enough already.
She punched the man, but another one pulled her back. As he touched her, she turned round with a punch to his face. The man blanked out on the floor.
A certain rich man who was already standing to go and rescue the damsel whom he assumed was in distress, simply sat back to watch the show. It appeared that the damsel wasn't the one who needed saving.
The next person who came to her came charging toward her with a punch. Carly squatted quickly at the last second, dodging the punch, and then stood back up almost immediately. She grabbed him by the hair, and pulled him back, into her elbow which she set as a sharpened sword. Once she elbowed him in the back, the man let out a yelp of pain. She tripped him by the leg, and whacked him by the back of his neck, causing a momentary cease in the flow of blood. The man landed, unconscious as well. She was down to four.
The two came charging at her at once, she allowed them to crash into each other, and then sent a powerful kick to the back of one of them. The two men fell to the floor, groaning in pain.
Before the fifth man could even make his way, she kicked him in the balls, and he fell straight to the floor, whimpering in extreme pain. She was left with the man who started the whole thing.
"I must admit, you know how to please a man. You looked damn sex-" She didn't allow him to finish, she kicked him straight in the mouth. His head turned the other way, and four teeth fell out of his mouth. She waited to see if he would fight back, but the man simply fell to his teammates.
