Introduction

After three months of blindness, Celine finally sees again—only to catch her husband betraying her with her own sister, and discover that the marriage she believed in may have been a lie from the very beginning.

Just when she decides to walk away from the man who deceived her, a powerful and dangerous man enters her life, standing firmly behind her and making one thing clear to everyone: she is his woman.

From being trampled on by her husband and family to becoming the woman no one dares to cross, Celine is ready to turn her life around—and the man who was supposed to be nothing more than her husband on paper is starting to want much more.

Chapter 1

Celine's POV

Three months of blindness, and I had finally seen the light again.

But I never could have imagined that the very first thing I would see after regaining my sight would be my husband and my own younger sister, tangled together in an affair beside the garden pool.

By the pool, my husband William Hayes stood bare-chested, his tanned broad shoulders heaving violently with every breath.

"Ah… darling, you're incredible, I'm going to pass out…"

I had come to share the good news of my recovery with him first, but the scene before me hit like a sledgehammer, rooting me to the spot. Every drop of blood in my body turned to ice in an instant.

Men's and women's clothing was scattered all across the ground. A torn lace thong lay among it all, sickeningly conspicuous.

On the lawn, a beautiful woman in a maid's uniform had her head thrown back in a daze, her legs clamped tight around William's thick waist, her body rocking in fast rhythm with his thrusts. My always-controlled, always-composed newlywed husband had his shirt half-undone, his eight-pack abs glistening with sweat in the sunlight, his lower half completely bare as he slammed into her with savage force, pinning her hard against the grass.

And this woman — Evelyn Quinn, the true biological daughter of the Quinn family — was the very person responsible for taking my sight.

Three months ago, Evelyn had just been brought back to the family. She deliberately locked me inside a room that was on fire. By some cruel twist of fate, William had also been trapped inside. In the chaos, I threw myself in front of him to shield him.

William was pulled out safely. I, however, suffered severe burns and lost both my eyes entirely, plunging into an endless darkness.

Afterward, William was furious beyond measure. He swore in front of me that he would punish Evelyn severely — he said she would serve as a maid in the manor to atone for what she'd done.

And now?

Not only had Evelyn not been punished at all — she was strutting around my home with my husband, going at it with him in broad daylight.

The two of them by the pool had no idea I was standing just a short distance away, and their movements only grew more brazen.

Evelyn's gasps came faster and faster. She went limp against William's body, her voice going deliberately coy: "Daddy, harder, press into me…"

William's breathing was heavy. His hands roughly kneaded her full, heaving breasts, and his voice came out in a tone of laughably false restraint: "Keep your voice down, sweetheart… Celine's in the room. She'll hear you…"

Evelyn pulled William tighter against her. "Doesn't that make it more exciting? Besides, we've done this so many times right here and she never knew a thing. It's not like she can see anyway, darling. Harder…"

Those words hooked him immediately. His thrusts turned savage.

"You little slut — so much better than Celine. Daddy's going to give you everything you need today…"

I stared, my eyes wide and burning, my eye sockets feeling as though they might split apart.

So this was his idea of punishment?

Why had he lied to me?

Just as I was about to storm over and demand answers, I heard Evelyn speak again.

"Besides, it's not even a real marriage. And she actually believes she's your wife."

She rocked with his rhythm, gasping, her voice carrying a sulky pout: "You said I was the little treasure you wanted to marry. So what now? Because of her, I have to tiptoe around every single day. Why should I have to put up with that?"

A fake marriage.

My mind went completely blank.

Three months ago, just after I lost my sight, William had held my hand and promised me repeatedly that he would take responsibility for me, that he would care for me for the rest of his life.

He had personally taken me to register our marriage.

So — that certificate was forged?

William showed no sign of easing up. He pressed his chest against Evelyn's, running his hands over her body, his voice breaking apart between labored breaths: "Mm… it was unavoidable. Whatever else, we have to keep her happy. Otherwise how do we get her to willingly hand over the money that old woman left her? I've seen the will — a full three hundred million. The old woman's already down to her last breath. Once she goes, the transfer clears. "

He dragged his lips along her collarbone. "Bear with it a little longer for me, sweetheart… Hmm? After this I'll give you my life if you want it…"

Evelyn gave a petulant little hum and slid her palm down over his hard abs, pushing back against him. "I'm still not happy about it. She lived my life for twenty years — twenty years of good days that were supposed to be mine. I only wanted to teach her a small lesson. How was I supposed to know she'd be so useless she couldn't get out? We were both fine — she was the only one who got hurt. I still don't know if she did it on purpose. I've been cooped up in this place every single day and I'm going out of my mind. I want some fun…"

A smile full of malicious delight spread across her face. "Darling — I want to do it in front of her. Right next to her. Can you imagine how exciting that would be if she were sitting right there beside us?"

William's movements stopped dead.

He was silent for a moment, then spoke in a low, restrained voice: "No."

Evelyn's mood curdled immediately. Her hands dropped from his waist and she shuffled half a step to the side, her lips forming a pout that carried three parts sulk and seven parts threat: "Do you even care about me at all? Whatever I ask for, you say no. Do you actually have any feelings for me, or not?"

William frowned and lowered his voice. "Don't cause a scene — this is different—"

"How is it different?" She cut him off, her voice spiking sharply before she dragged it back down — like a cat that had been provoked into unsheathing its claws and was now forcing them back in. "You say she means nothing to you, but you keep finding ways to protect her feelings. Tell me honestly — am I the woman you love most, or is she?"

William didn't answer immediately. Several seconds of silence hung over the lawn.

I stood where I was without moving, watching every detail clearly.

I knew what he was doing. He was calculating — the way he always did — weighing which option served him best.

Sure enough, it wasn't long before I heard him exhale slowly, say something quietly, and Evelyn laughed again.

I turned around immediately and slipped back to the room without a sound. I sat down on the sofa, laid the white cane across my knees, and arranged my face back into that blank, lost expression.

Not long after, I heard footsteps.

The sound of William opening the door was very soft — he had deliberately lightened his hand. I heard him walk toward me, felt him crouch down in front of me, and then came his hand, warm and covering the back of mine. His voice was as tender as if nothing had ever happened.

"Celine, it's beautiful outside. Let me take you out for some sun — would you like that?"

I laughed coldly on the inside.

And I had let this hypocrite deceive me for a full three months. Just you wait — I will make this pair of cheating scum regret every second of it.

Did they really think that because I was blind, they could do whatever they pleased?

Now — it was time to play this game properly.

I slowly lifted my face and gave him the smile he expected — careful, tentative, faintly overwhelmed with gratitude. "Yes."

I gripped the white cane and let him take my arm, walking me out of the room one step at a time.

Sunlight fell on my skin, warm and sharp. I narrowed my eyes the slightest amount, hiding the reflex behind my face turning to the side.

The garden air carried the clean scent of grass and greenery, and from the pool's edge, the faint damp smell of everything they had just done there.

William guided me to the lounge chair nearest the pool and helped straighten the hem of my clothes, his voice still gentle: "Sit here — you'll get the best of the sun."

"Thank you, darling." I deliberately put affection into my voice and looped my arms around his neck. From the corner of my eye I caught Evelyn's face turning a deep red — but William only held a finger to his lips in her direction.

"Come sit beside me, darling. I want to talk with you."

William never refused any request of mine when we were face to face. Predictably, he sat down beside me — and his right hand even reached over to take my left hand in his. He had once said he would be the eyes for the rest of my life.

Disgusting.

Sure enough, Evelyn couldn't contain herself for long.

She closed in with barely disguised impatience. She threw me a look loaded with pure provocation, then, as if William and I were the only two people on earth, she dropped to her knees in front of him.

Right in front of me, she reached for the zipper William had only just refastened and pulled it open with the ease of long practice. She stuck out her tongue and licked slowly upward along his length.

William's body seized. He nearly pushed her away — the instinct was obvious. But Evelyn was relentless. She opened her red lips wide and swallowed him down fully, taking him all the way.

"Mm—"

A smothered groan forced its way out of his throat. The hand gripping mine clenched down hard without warning.

Evelyn worked him in deep, steady strokes, her warm wet mouth wrapped tightly around him. She deliberately slowed her pace, and the sounds of her swallowing filled the quiet garden, amplified.

She even lifted her head to look at me, sucking and stroking greedily the whole time, her mouth producing slick, obscene noises on purpose.

"Slck… mmph…"

William had his head thrown back, breathing fractured and close to breaking. Pleasure and alarm crossed his face in alternating waves. He loved this kind of thrill — what she was doing to him had him swelling thick and red and straining against her mouth. Deciding I still couldn't see, he visibly let himself relax, and in the end he couldn't resist the temptation. He gave in completely and let Evelyn do exactly as she pleased with him.

I sat beside them and watched this pair writhing at my feet, my face expressionless.

Filthy.

The cold in my eyes was nearly overflowing. The hand at my side tightened around the white cane until the knuckles ached.

You want excitement? Then I'll give you something truly exciting.

I snapped my brow into a sudden frown, as if startled by a sound. My body jerked to the side, and I let the panic flood my voice — sharp, high, and out of control: "What was that?! What is that — is it a snake?!"

I raised the white cane and swung it in a blind, wild arc toward the sound.

The cane came down with a rush of air and struck William's fully erect cock dead on.
