THE CEO'S CONTRACT WIFE: I didn't fall for him...Until I did
Leboh · Ongoing · 93.1k Words
Introduction
Michael Thorne, 32, is the ruthless CEO of Thorne Holdings. His board wants him out. His grandfather's will is clear: marry and stay married for one year, or lose his billion-rand empire.
A failed job interview becomes a proposal: "Marry me for one year. R5 million upfront. No love. No sex. No questions."
She says yes.
The contract is simple, until it isn't. Late-night whiskey, 2am meals from a man who claims he doesn't care, and the way he looks at her like she's the only real thing in his world.
Michael does control, not love — until his fake wife starts breaking every wall he built.
When her ex returns, his ex-fiancée reappears, and the board learns their fake marriage is turning real, everything unravels.
She was his fake wife. He was her paycheck. Now they're risking it all for each other.
Chapter 1
The receptionist at Thorne Holdings didn’t even look up when I walked in.
“Do you have an appointment?”
“I do. Palesa Mokhosi. 9AM. Architecture internship.”
She finally glanced at me. At my second-hand blazer. At my shoes that I’d polished three times last night.
“sit. Mr. Thorne is running late.”
Late. Right. I clutched my portfolio to my chest like it could protect me. Inside was every project I’d done at National University of Lesotho. Every late night. Every “you’re so talented, girl” from my lecturers. It also held the hospital bill folded in four. R347,892. Due in 7 days. Or they pull the plug on my mom’s dialysis. The glass doors opened and the whole floor went silent. He was taller than his pictures. And colder. Black suit, no tie, jaw sharp enough to cut glass. Michael Thorne. 32. CEO rumored to have fired 3 people before lunch last Tuesday.
“Ms. Mokhosi,” his voice was low. No smile.
“My office. Now.”
I followed him. The office was all glass and steel and no warmth. He didn’t sit. He stood by the window overlooking Maseru like he owned the whole mountain view.
“Your portfolio was impressive,” he said.
“Your GPA was perfect. So why are you here?”
“Because I need the job, sir.”
He turned. Dark eyes dragged over me.
“I don’t hire desperation.”
My throat closed.
“Then don’t. But I’m the best junior architect you’ll ever interview this month. And I work 70 hours a week and I don’t complain.”
A beat. Then the corner of his mouth twitched. Almost a smile.
“Interesting.”
He walked to his desk and pulled out a folder. Not a contract. A marriage certificate.
My brain short-circuited.
“What is this?”
“My grandfather’s will. I inherit Thorne Holdings in 30 days if I’m married. If not, the board takes it.”
He slid it across the desk.
“Marry me for one year. R5,000,000. Paid in two installments. You live in my house. You attend 4 events a month with me. You do not fall in love with me. You do not touch me. You do not ask questions.”
I stared at the number. R5,000,000. Mom’s surgery. Twice over.
“This is illegal.”
“This is business,” he said.
“Do we have a deal, Ms. Mokhosi?”
Outside, the Maseru wind hit the glass. Inside, my whole life balanced on one word.
I swallowed.
“Yes.”
He picked up a pen.
“Good. The wedding is on Saturday.”
The dress was white. The marriage was fake. But the ring on my finger weighed like a brick. Saturday came too fast. No guests. No priest with a kind smile. Just me, Michael, and a government magistrate in a grey office in Maseru who looked bored out of his mind.
“Do you, Palesa Mokhosi, take Michael Thorne to be your lawfully wedded husband?”
I glanced at Michael. He was in a black suit again. No emotion. Like we were signing a business merger. Which we were.
“I do.”
My voice didn’t shake much.
“Do you, Michael Thorne...”
“I do.”
Stamp. Signature. R5,000,000 was apparently now mine. The first R2.5M hit my account before we even left the building. I paid the hospital before lunch. Mom was going to live. That should’ve been the end of it. The Thorne Mansion. It was not a house. It was a fortress on the hill overlooking Maseru. Glass, black marble, and staff who bowed when we walked in. Michael stopped in the foyer.
“Rule 1: My bedroom is off limits. Rule 2: You don’t speak to me unless spoken to at events. Rule 3: You don’t leave Lesotho without telling me. Rule 4: You don’t touch me.”

Love's Deadly Equation
I was sent to her.
To watch her. To protect her. And, when the order comes… to kill her.
My name is Keegan Caffery. I’m the Carter Mafia’s best hitman. I don’t miss. I don’t fail.
At least, I didn’t use to.
I don’t know what it is about her that got to me first—her mouth, her mind, or the way she looks at me like I’m not what she should fear.
I’ve had a gun to her head since I walked into her life.
She knows it.
And she still doesn’t run.
She just watches me back like she’s studying a problem she refuses to call impossible.
She’s the one variable I can’t control.
And God help me… I don’t want to.
I have an order. I have loyalty. I have a trigger.
But every time I imagine it—
I can’t stand it.
Her or me. That’s the math.
It’s a deadly equation I don’t want to solve.
⬥ Maisie ⬥
I’m not ordinary. I stopped pretending long ago.
My name is Maisie Seo. IQ 145. Clinical genius.
Which sounds impressive until you realize what it actually means: I don’t fit anywhere people expect me to.
I see patterns everywhere. Outcomes before they happen. People like equations I’ve already solved.
It gets lonely in a world you’ve already figured out.
So I dull myself down. Smoke the edges off. Pretend, badly, to be the kind of normal that lets people stay.
Then he walked in.
I knew what he was immediately. Dangerous. Intentional. Wrong in all the right ways.
I should be afraid of him.
I keep waiting for that to kick in.
Instead, I’m fascinated.
Because for the first time in my life… I’ve found something I can’t solve.
He is my deadly equation.

Letters to a Dark Prince
Thrown into Isteros Academy—a world of old money, blood money, and cruel social games—she's an outsider by birth and an afterthought by design. Her sister Solyn is the school's untouchable queen and Mara is her favorite target.
Everyone expects Atreus to treat his fiancée’s scholarship sister like everyone else does—as if she doesn’t matter.
Instead, his dorm room sits directly across from hers, close enough that she can see his light go out at night. Some nights, he climbs the old maintenance trellis just to check on her. He teaches her chess. He shows up exactly when something's gone wrong—and never once asks to be thanked for it.
"Don't fall in love with one piece," he warns her, over a board neither of them treats like a game anymore. "It punishes the person who only sees half of it."
Mara doesn't understand why the boy who's supposed to make her life harder keeps quietly making it easier—not until she realizes the anonymous stranger she's been writing to every week already has a name.
His.
He doesn't know he's writing to her, either.
By the time they find out, it's too late to stop what's already happening. Far too dangerous for anyone to find out.
In an empty studio, in the middle of a rainstorm, she asks him: 'Am I the kind of girl who kisses a boy engaged to my sister?'
He doesn't answer.
So she asks: 'What are we?’
He told her not to fall in love with one piece.
She fell anyway.
And he was never far behind.

MOONLIT CHASE
But no, I had to walk through the park at midnight like an idiot. Now I've seen something I can't unsee—a massive black wolf tearing apart three men, then shifting into the hottest guy I've ever laid eyes on.
Kieran Vaughn. Wealthy lawyer, werewolf, and apparently, he thinks I'm his mate.
Here's the problem: I don't do relationships. I definitely don't do supernatural things. I absolutely don't do rich guys who think they can control my life just because their inner wolf has decided I smell like home.
When hunters start targeting me to get to him, Kieran drags me into his pristine penthouse for "protection." Now I'm living with a man who looks at me like I'm his last meal, whose touch sets my skin on fire, and who's barely holding onto his control.
He says everyone he loves dies. I say that's not my problem except it is because I'm falling for this broken, dangerous man and his beast.
And in his world? Love will get you killed.
Ex-Wife, Current Wife
For three years, she lived in the shadow of a loveless marriage. She was the woman everyone loved to hate, the one who supposedly "stole" him from his first love. She endured his cold indifference, raised their son—who struggles with a speech impediment—in silence, and traded her own brilliant career for the thankless role of a trophy wife.
But when his long-lost love returns, she is unceremoniously pushed aside to make room for the "real" family.
Enough was enough.
After he publicly humiliates her and chooses the mistress’s daughter over his own son during a birthday party, something inside her finally snaps. She doesn't just want out of the marriage; she wants her life back. With a secret talent for design and a newfound resolve, she walks away from the gilded cage of his estate.
But as she rises from the ashes of her failed marriage to reclaim her status as a top-tier designer, he realizes the woman he treated as a disposable pawn was the only one who truly held his world together.
Now, the woman who once begged for his attention is no longer looking back. Will he be able to earn her forgiveness, or is he finally too late?
Exchanging Vows: The Swapped Wife Is a Top Shaman
Moonfire: Betrayed By The Alpha
Alpha Caden Blackwell believed those words would break me. That after three years of marriage marked by silence, humiliation, and quiet rejection, I would fear a life without him.
I did once.
As the Luna of the Shadowcrest Pack, I gave everything to a man my wolf recognized as her mate, enduring whispers, cold stares, and a pack that never truly accepted me. I stayed because I believed love required endurance. Because I believed patience would one day be rewarded.
That belief shattered the night Caden welcomed his former lover back into our home, along with a child he claimed as his heir. It ended the moment his choices nearly cost me my life and the life of one of my unborn pups. Leaving was no longer a matter of pride. It was survival.
Caden does not know the woman who walked away. He still sees the Luna who waited, who forgave, who loved without limits. He does not see Nova Ashton, a woman capable of rebuilding her identity and claiming a future on her own terms.
I will never crawl back.
Accardi
“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
Genevieve loses a bet she can’t afford to pay. In a compromise, she agrees to convince any man her opponent chooses to go home with her that night. What she doesn’t realize when her sister’s friend points out the brooding man sitting alone at the bar, is that man won’t be okay with just one night with her. No, Matteo Accardi, Don of one of the largest gangs in New York City doesn’t do one night stands. Not with her anyway.
