The Cruel Prince's Bride
Diana Bitterly · Completed · 108.4k Words
Introduction
I awoke to a disorienting haze, my mind clouded with confusion and my body wracked with pain. Attempting to rise, I discovered that I was alone, my naked form exposed to the frigid air. My vision slowly came into focus, revealing the extent of my suffering.
I knew that I needed to speak with Jake, to seek solace in his embrace.
Katherine was the governors daughter. She is forced to marry the prince when he proposes. She is in love with the prince's personal guard.
Prince charming is not exactly charming. He is abusive and overbearing. He takes a mistress and both his wife and mistress end up pregnant.
Chapter 1
The tale of my life did not start with grandeur or fate’s cruel design, but even the smallest beginnings can lead to the most extraordinary endings. When a new family arrived in our village, I was three years old. Their son, Jake, was three years older than me and found endless amusement in teasing me, especially by tugging at my braids. When we grew older, our relationship shifted, the playful teasing giving way to something deeper.
The night before my eighteenth birthday, Jake confessed his love. I told him I felt the same, and my love for him grew as time passed. He promised to marry me and take me far from our village. He had already taken on new responsibilities. His parents had passed, and his sister was gravely ill. Jake had secured a post as a palace guard, even forging a close bond with the prince. Now, he served as the prince’s most trusted bodyguard.
What came after my birthday, however, was far from ordinary. Forgive me, I have not properly introduced myself. My name is Katherine though most call me Kat. I come from the village of Lodamir, which falls under the rule of a benevolent king and queen. Their son, Prince Jacob, is poised to inherit the throne and is seeking a bride. You might be wondering how I, a girl from a modest village, am tied to this world of royalty and politics.
The truth is my family holds more influence than most would expect. My father is the governor, and a trusted advisor to the crown. We were raised surrounded by the splendor of the palace. It was during one such evening, at a state banquet we were required to attend, that my world began to shift.
I had chosen to wear a gown deep blue, the color of twilight, designed to enhance my form in all the right ways. I felt beautiful, unaware that I would soon regret such a choice.
“You look breathtaking, my dear,” my father commented as I descended the grand staircase.
I blushed.
“Thank you, Father.”
He gave me a look of concern.
“Perhaps a bit too breathtaking.”
“Shall I change?”
“No.”
“It is fine.”
“We should not keep our hosts waiting.”
We made our way to the palace, a routine we knew well. Our carriage rolled up to the grand gates, and we were ushered inside with the usual formalities. The curtsies to the king and queen, my father’s respectful bow. Everything was familiar, yet somehow, that night felt different.
Then, the prince entered. Prince Jacob, with his silken voice and regal air, captivated the room. He apologized for his late arrival; his words as smooth as velvet. He met my eyes, and his gaze lingered far longer than I was comfortable with.
“You look radiant, my lady,” he said, his voice thick with charm.
I curtsied, my cheeks burning.
“Thank you, Your Highness.”
The evening went on. His attention remained fixed on me. His eyes followed my every movement. It was unsettling, though I tried to hide my discomfort. When he finally approached, his request caught me off guard.
“May I steal a moment of your time?”
His tone was seductive, leaving me little room to refuse. Caught between propriety and unease, I nodded. He took my arm, guiding me through the palace as though I were already his.
“Where are we going?”
“To the royal gardens.”
When we reached the gardens, I was met with a breathtaking sight. Flowers in every color imaginable, illuminated by the soft glow of moonlight. At the center stood a massive willow tree, ancient and majestic. The setting was stunning. Something in the air felt wrong.
“This garden is beautiful.”
“Not as beautiful as you.”
Before I could respond, he spoke again.
“I would like you to attend the royal ball tomorrow as my honored guest.”
“I have already had a gown prepared for you.”
His words were polite, but there was an unspoken expectation beneath them. This was not a request—it was a demand wrapped in the guise of a favor. The rest of the evening passed in a blur. When my family and I finally returned to my carriage, my father seemed pleased.
“Katherine, you have been given a great opportunity.”
“The prince is taken with you.”
“Yes,” I replied, though my heart was heavy with doubt.
My feelings for Jake, who had been absent from the banquet, gnawed at me. How could I explain to my family, to the king, or the prince, that my heart belonged to someone else? The next morning, the prince's promise of a fitting for the ball loomed over me. I dressed, still feeling the weight of my father’s words. We traveled back to the palace. I tried to shake the feeling of dread that clung to me. Upon arrival, Jake was there to help me get down from the carriage, our fingers brushing. For a moment, everything felt right again. Suddenly Jacob appeared.
“Thank you, Jake.”
“I will be accompanying Katherine from here.”
Jake’s eyes darkened, but he bowed respectfully. Jacob took my hand and led me inside, every gesture of his marked by an air of possession. We climbed the stairs. He spoke of showing me to my new chambers—a place I would occupy if I accepted his courtship.
I realized then how carefully my life had been maneuvered by forces beyond my control. This was more than a mere courtship. This was a move in a larger game, one in which I was just a pawn. When Jacob opened the doors to the grand suite prepared for me, I could only stare at the opulence, the vastness of the rooms that would soon become my gilded cage. All I could think of was Jake. The simple boy from the village who held my heart in ways that the prince never could.

After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
Triplet Alpha: My Fated Mates
"No." "I'm fine."
"Fuck," he breathes. "You're—"
"Don't." My voice cracks. "Please don't say it."
"Aroused." He says it anyway. "You're aroused."
"I'm not—"
"Your scent." His nostrils flare. "Kara, you smell like—"
"Stop." I cover my face with my hands. "Just—stop."
Then his hand on my wrist, pulling my hands away.
"There's nothing wrong with wanting us," he says softly. "It's natural. You're our mate. We're yours."
"I know." My voice is barely a whisper.
I spent ten years as a ghost in the Sterling mansion—a debt slave to the triplet Alphas who made my life hell. They called me "Carrot," shoved me into frozen rivers, and left me to die in the snow when I was eleven.
On my eighteenth birthday, everything changed. My first shift released a scent of white musk and first snow—and three former tormentors stood outside my door, claiming I was their fated mate. All three of them.
Overnight, the debt vanished. Asher's commands turned to vows, Blake's fists became trembling apologies, and Cole swore they'd been waiting for me all along. They declared me their Luna and promised to spend their lives atoning.
My wolf howls to accept them. But one question haunts me:
Would that eleven-year-old girl, freezing and certain she would die, forgive the choice I'm about to make?
