Introduction
"Nothing," I stammered, my breath getting caught in my throat. My fingers could not seem to stop trembling and he noticed it.
"Your first time?" He asked.
I looked away, embarrassment tinging my cheeks a pinkish colour.
"It's nothing to be ashamed of love," he smiled, lying down next to me. "Just relax, everything will be fine," he said to me.
"You were not educated properly on what to expect on the night of marriage?" He questioned.
"No," I murmured.
"You don't know your marital duty?"
"It is to birth an heir, is it not?" I asked him.
"Somewhat. It is more than the outcome though. It's not just about birthing an heir, it's supposed to make you feel good. And it doesn't have to be done just to fulfil your duty. It's to express love, you know."
"But you don't love me," I stated and he said nothing in response.
I closed my eyes and took in a deep breath but my body was still tense because I could feel the warmth of his body next to mine.
After being rejected by her childhood crush and framed for poisoning his father, Regina is sentenced to death by her father. In an attempt to escape his wrath, she finds herself in the territory of the ruthless Alpha Dagen who happens to be her mate.
Dagen, on the other hand, sees her only as a means to an heir and a curse-breaker, planning to kill her afterwards. After discovering this, Regina flees from him and Dagen realizes that she might be the one truly meant for him.
Deep and dark secrets about her past begin to come to light, making her realize that she and Dagen's paths are more intertwined than she had realized when she was already involved in a romantic relationship with Lucian.
However, the two cannot kill the chemistry between them as fated mates. Will Regina fight the attraction and forgive Dagen for the past, or will she remain with Lucian?
Chapter 1
There is something about today that doesn't feel right.
It must have been the cloudy sky and the chill in the air that made me feel reluctant to leave my hard wooden bed even at the expense of my back.
My frayed blanket wrapped around my thin body like a blockade between myself and the cruel world. Although useless, it provided a much-needed comfort when everything seemed to be against me.
With my gloomy green eyes open and staring at the wooden ceiling. I stayed on the bed waiting for the alarm to go off, announcing the start of a new day.
I crawled out of the blanket and gingerly folded it.
The blanket went on the edge of the single bed. The mattress on the bed barely qualified as a mattress and every movement on top of it made a creaking sound.
As the person who slept on it for most of her life, I had to say despite it being so creepy, the furniture in the room held on to its shape for a surprisingly long time.
The old, sewed-on clothes swayed on my body like a bag of potatoes. I looked at myself in the mirror trying to take note of the damage done last night.
The visible bruise all over my arms and back was a result of a salty soup I made last night without Camille's guidance. The stick marks were red and blue and scattered from the palm of my hand to my shoulders where my sleeves were rolled up.
Without a change in expression, I picked up the first aid kit from the cabinet. It has become an everyday routine now as I try emptying the medicine tubes again and again.
I applied the medicine cream all over my body. Even though the bruises looked bad, it did not hurt as much as it did last night. It must be the moon goddess having pity on me for giving me such an awful life that I have a wolf who has a fast and incredible healing ability.
Raven, my wolf, is one of the reasons I've managed to keep my sanity for the past few years as the physical abuse from my family kept getting worse.
I smiled to myself, remembering the night she finally came forward.
★★Flashback★★*****
I was in the last room of the main floor, just finishing up mopping. Suddenly a voice had me screaming and dropping the mop, splashing water everywhere.
“Hello Regina”
“Who…. who's there?” I asked nervously. I spun in a slow circle, looking for a sign of another person.
Laughter. “No need to be so anxious. I won't hurt you, Regina.”
I realized that the voice was in my head. “You're my wolf!”
“Bingo!”
“Is that your name? Bingo?” I asked curiously.
“What? No silly. My name is Raven, and it's so nice to finally be here with you.”
“It's a pleasure to finally meet you, Raven.”
“I am sorry.”
“For what?” I asked, feeling confused.
“For the pain and suffering, you've been through. I have been researching your memories, and it pains me to see how much heartache you've endured.”
“There is nothing that can be done about it.”
She sighed. “I’m so sorry. I'm sorry I wasn't here to help you. But I'm here now, and you'll always have me to watch your back. F*ck this pack and your family for the hell they've put you through!”
I laughed, full of joy. This was the best day of my life!
“Thank you, Raven. It's nice to know that I have at least one true friend in my life now.”
“No. We are more than friends, we are family.”
“Oh, Regina?”
“Yes, Raven?” I answered.
“Happy birthday”
I grinned so much that I didn't even mind that I had to re-mop the floor.
**★END OF FLASHBACK★
After applying the medicine, I fixed my mid-length brown hair out of my face. It was time to get back to my daily routine.
“Hurry up Gina! I don't have all day to look at your stupid face.” Anayah sneered and I increased my pace.
My father wouldn't blink an eye if my sisters began their assault. He never cared, not even when I had a black eye and a broken arm.
Cassie complains, “I don't have time for this. My shoes also need some cleaning.”
A shoe-covered leg kicked my butt from behind, I groaned and bit my lips, trying hard to swallow the pain.
“Maybe that would make you clean faster,” Cassie said smiling and I blinked back the tears forming in my eyes.
This was a normal behavior in Alpha George's house.
My dad, the Alpha of Bloodmoon pack, had five daughters and a son. I am the fifth of his six children and I am the only one with a different mother. The girls all have black hair and dark brown eyes, while the only son has snow-white hair and dark blue eyes. I was the odd one out of the girls as I had brown hair and a green eye.
Hence, I was treated like an outsider.
They called me the bastard, the unwanted pregnancy.
They hated my mother because my father was cheating on their mother, and she gave birth to me.
But instead of taking their anger out on my father, they took it out on me instead.
My father also hates me with everything in him. The villagers in my pack say it is because I bear a lot of resemblance to my late mother. I know he loved her beyond what words could explain, but when she mysteriously died after giving birth to me, a part of him left him. I was forced to stay here with him and his family. She was his true mate, and my stepmother was his chosen mate.
My stepmother was not happy about it; she began to abuse me together with my sisters, and she made it clear to me right from my childhood that we were different; they were a family, and I was an outsider and a maid.
While my half-siblings were allowed to attend parties and training, I was forced to clean after them and stay up preparing dinner or running errands.
I felt a sharp pain on my scalp as my hair was pulled backwards. “Have you made breakfast for me and my pups?” My stepmother growled. I didn't sense her coming in.
My wolf cried in pain like she always did whenever I was being assaulted.
I nodded quickly, my hand reaching up to hold her hand in my hair, “Camille already made breakfast.”
Her piercing blue eyes studied me for a while before letting go of my hair and causing me to land painfully on the floor.
I groaned a little bit but struggled to keep the tears at bay. Showing any sign of weakness will only make things worse. My stepmother's eyes lingered on me, her lips curling into a cruel smile.
“You're lucky your father still wants you here because of his reputation,” she hissed.
“Otherwise I would have personally disposed you a long time ago.”
I clenched my fist, and I felt my claws slowly creeping out. It was a constant battle to hold back the anger and resentment that burned within me. However, my survival depends on my ability to endure and play the role that is expected of me. I took a deep breath, one that intoxicated my lungs for a longer time.
Anayah giggled from the corner of the room, enjoying my humiliation. “Mother is right. You're nothing but a burden, a stain on our family’s reputation.”
“Shut up,” I growled, then immediately regretted it as I sensed my father walk in.
My father's eyes immediately flashed with anger. He lifted his hands and it made contact with my skin, making my head spin.
“She's right. You're a burden to this family, and you're just as useless as your w***e of a mother. He sneered and I couldn't hold my tears anymore.
She's not a useless w***e! I murmured to myself in pain as the rejection caught through me. I should have gotten used to this kind of treatment by now, but the constant reminder of being a bastard child and the rejection from my father, especially, always hurt my feelings beyond what words can explain.
“Hurry up and help your sisters get dressed. The moonball is about to start.

On Christmas Eve, I aborted the CEO's child
On Christmas Eve night, my husband brought his mistress home and demanded that I, his pregnant wife, leave with nothing.
On this day, I lost my husband and also lost the child in my womb...
I Loved You in Silence, You Betrayed Me in French
At my birthday party, my husband whispered to his mistress in French that he missed her. His voice was low, but I heard it all—the black lingerie, the bit about how pregnancy makes you more sensitive. His French clients around us were laughing. He turned and put his arm around me, claiming he was just helping his clients come up with sweet nothings.
He doesn't know I understand every single word. Just like he doesn't know that inside my body, I'm carrying his other surprise. And his mistress—she's pregnant too. Two wombs, one secret.
Confrontation would be too cheap. Tears are worthless. I quietly started cataloging the hidden networks my father left behind, activating the Swiss accounts.
In seven days, Zoey Smith will cease to exist. And what will my husband's reaction be?
He Never Loved Me, Until I Left
I put away the divorce agreement with a wry smile.
When he and my son completely disappeared, he finally panicked.
Three months later .
He knelt down on the streets of Chicago in despair, begging me to remarry him.
My six-year-old son looked coldly at his biological father and said, "Get lost, you bad uncle! You don't deserve to be my dad!"
When I Disappeared, He Regretted It
The moment the screen lit up, my entire world came crashing down.
The woman on the bed was Calista - that girl who grew up with us since we were kids. And that hand caressing her skin was wearing the wedding ring I had personally put on Matteo's finger.
"I've missed you so much..."
"You drive me crazy, baby..."
Those sweet words I knew so well completely destroyed me.
Everyone said we were the perfect couple, but who knew this marriage was built on nothing but lies?
Since he's so good at acting, I guess it's time I gave him a show of my own. I'm going to make sure everyone sees what this "perfect husband" really is...
He Thought I'd Never Leave
When he said he was being bullied, I believed him. When he kissed me on that rooftop, I thought he felt the same. When he asked me to transfer schools with him, I said yes without hesitation.
Then I heard him bragging to his friends: "She'd save her first time for me. Hell, she'd still be thinking of me on her wedding night."
The bullying was staged. The kiss meant nothing. He just wanted me gone—so his new girl could feel more comfortable.
He thought I'd beg. He thought I'd cry. He thought I'd never actually leave.
I left the country.
And ran straight into his stepbrother.
I Died While They Threw Her a Party
Their real daughter came home. She'd only been back two years. That's all it took to erase twenty-four.
When kidnappers grabbed us, I used my body as a shield. They beat me until something inside me ruptured. I was dying from internal bleeding, but no one could tell.
My parents wouldn't even look at me. "This is your fault! None of this would've happened if it weren't for you!"
"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."
They threw her a party at a downtown hotel while I died alone in my room.
I thought they'd be relieved. Maybe even glad. I thought they'd just move on like I never existed.
But when they finally learned the truth, they fell apart.
Bury Me in His Regret
The kidnapper pressed the gun to my temple and asked, "Choose your wife or your sister-in-law?"
Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.
He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.
Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.
When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.
"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."
The Kidney That Killed Me
A few months ago, my sister was hospitalized with kidney failure. The doctor said she needed a transplant. My family's first thought was me—the backup daughter they'd kept around all these years.
When my husband Allen took my hand with tears in his eyes and said, "Only you can save her," I agreed without hesitation.
When the doctor explained the surgical risks and potential complications, I smiled and nodded my understanding.
My parents said I'd finally learned what sisterly love meant.
Even Allen, who'd always been cold to me, held my hand gently and said, "The surgery's safe. You're so healthy, nothing will go wrong. When you recover, I'll take you to Hawaii."
But they don't know that no matter how the surgery goes, I won't be around to celebrate.
Because I just got my own test results—I have terminal brain cancer. I'm going to die anyway.
After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
