anniethebecks · Ongoing · 36.5k Words
Introduction
Cassidy Fairchild always felt like an outsider in the mundane world, but she never expected to be the anomaly that changes everything. When she is summoned to the Academy of Elemental Arts, a boarding school rooted in a far away realm, hidden from the human world, she discovers it wasn't just an ordinary school like the ones in the world she knew, she discovered she was the wielder of the never seen Fifth Element, the element written in the prophesy, a power as volatile as it is ancient.
In this realm where magic is a weapon, Cassidy finds an unlikely family in a group of gifted students;
Madeleine: The steady heart with the power of Earth.
Jake & Cara: Fire wielders whose blades burn as bright as their resolve.
Damon: The cold precision of Water and Ice.
Sage: A master of the forbidden arts of Blood and Water.
Phoebe: The whirlwind force of Air.
But the Academy’s gilded halls hide rotting secrets. As the shadows at the edge of the realm begin to take form, the signs spoken of in the prophecy of war begins to surface. The misty demons are no longer just bedtime stories, they are an invading army, and some of the school’s elder elementals may not be the protectors they claim to be.
Greedy external forces have caught scent of her awakening. To them, Cassidy isn't a savior, she’s a source of infinite power to be harvested. While the students fight to save their lives from demons, they must also protect the very essence of magic from those who would drain the world dry to possess the Fifth Element.

THE FIFTH ELEMENT 🌊🔥🌪️⛰️☯️.
~Chapter 1~
Blood.
It was everywhere. Soaking the dirt, painting the stones, running down my arms like I’d tried to hold it all in and failed.
I was supposed to be the savior. The one who ended it.
Instead I stood there, not standing.... But trapped. Every muscle locked like clay, every breath burning my lungs. A statue with a pulse.
And I watched them die.
A boy went down first. Fire flickered around him, then went out when the spear hit his chest. He looked at me as he fell. His eyes... Begging me to do something.
A girl was next. She reached for me, green light dying on her fingertips, before her eyes went empty.
One by one, they fell. I knew them. I loved them. But their names wouldn’t come. My mouth wouldn’t open to say them.
I had the power to save them. I could feel it clawing under my skin, begging to get out.
But I couldn’t move. Couldn’t speak. Couldn’t do a damn thing but watch
The man who did it turned to me last. His face was shadow, but his voice slid into my skull like ice.
“See, Cassidy? This is your doing. All which could have been avoided if you didn't try to be a savior.”
Then he smiled a menacing smile before the world went black.

~Cassie’s POV~
My name is Cassidy Fairchild. For eighteen years, I’ve been a normal teenage girl living a normal teenage life with my mom.
Until a week after my eighteenth birthday.
That was the day everything changed.
My mom and I were always moving. New city, new apartment, new school , rinse and repeat. She said it was because of her job.
It’s why I suck at keeping friends. Every time I managed to make one or two, we’d pack up and leave. Phone numbers got lost. Messages went unanswered. Then I’d start over.
Now we’d moved again. Again, I’d be the new kid. Again, I’d have no one.
It was exhausting. Like I didn’t belong anywhere.
~~~
“Cassie, baby, will you be okay at your new school?” Mom asked. Worry pulled at the corners of her eyes.
“I’ll be fine. Like always,” I sighed. “I just wish I didn’t have to start over again.”
“I know, honey. I know you’re tired of moving. But trust me, everything I’m doing is what’s best for you.” She put her hands on my shoulders, steady and warm.
“What’s best for me, or what’s best for you? You’re the one getting paid.” I rolled my eyes and stepped out of her grip.
“One day, and I hope it’s not soon, you’ll see that everything I do is for your own good, pumpkin.” She grabbed her bag and keys from the counter.
“Right. Whatever you say, Mom.” I held the front door open. “Are you driving me, or should I take the bus? I don’t want to be late on my first day. Bad luck.”
“Sure, I’ll drive you. Be right out.”
She scrambled for her keys. I went to wait in the car.
~
We made a stop at the parking lot of Westview High. The very school I enrolled in this time around.
I got out of the car and slammed the door harder than I meant to, and Mom gave me an encouraging smile before driving off.
The hallway swallowed me whole. Lockers, noise, stares. Being the new girl had perks and downsides. Mostly downsides.
“Hi. You must be Cassidy Fairchild. The new girl.” A brown-haired girl with kind eyes stopped in front of me. “I’m Veronica. I’m your assigned guide for the week.”
“Oh. Hi,” I gave her an awkward smile. “Thanks. And you can call me Cassie, by the way.”
Everything about me screamed awkward.
“Oh, sure. Cassie.” She flashed braces. “Do you have your printed timetable? I can take you to your first class.”
“Yeah. Here.” I handed her the crumpled A4 paper.
She scanned it. “Biology first. Same as me. We can walk there together, if you want.”
She seemed nice. But I wasn’t ready to make friends yet. Not until I knew if we’d still be here next month.
“Sure,” I said.
Veronica led the way. I followed.
The one thing I dreaded about being new happened immediately.
“Cassidy, would you like to introduce yourself?” the bio teacher asked and I knew I couldn't say no.
I introduced myself briefly and Awkwardly.
After bio class, Veronica walked me to English Lit. She wasn’t in this one with me, so I was on my own.
I slid into a seat at the back. No attention. That was the goal.
It lasted three minutes.
The teacher noticed me a new face and asked for another introduction.
I got through it. Barely. On my way back to my seat, someone stuck out a leg.
I stumbled, caught myself on a desk, and looked down.
A honey-blonde girl with fake lashes and doe eyes smiled at me. “Oops. Sorry. You should watch where you’re going… new girl.”
Moving to a lot of different schools made me aware of different characters in a school. I’d met her type before and I knew exactly how to handle her.
“Apology accepted,” I said, keeping my voice level. “And you should learn to keep your legs to yourself… old girl.”
A few people snickered and I went to my seat without looking back.
~
The bell rang for lunch and I quickly shoved my books into my backpack.
“Hi. I’m Jamie. Welcome to our school.” A boy stood by the door, grinning.
“Oh. Hi. Thanks.”
“So, Cassidy. Your name is Cassidy, right?”
“Just Cassie.”
“So, Just Cassie, want to grab lunch together?”
Veronica appeared in the doorway at that exact moment, waving me over.
“Sorry. Maybe some other time. I have to go.” I slipped past him and joined Veronica.
“Do me a favor, Cassie,” she said as we walked. “Don’t talk to that boy. He’s bad news.”
“Oh?” I just nodded.
I wasn’t planning to get involved with anyone yet. My Rule was: know them for a month before getting attached. Just Incase.
We headed to the cafeteria to get some lunch when all I wanted to do was go home.
Invisible To Her Bully
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
The mafia princess return
Accidentally Crossing the Tycoon
Four years ago, the Bailey family faced a devastating financial crisis.
Just when bankruptcy seemed inevitable, a mysterious benefactor emerged, offering salvation with one condition: a contract marriage.
Rumors swirled about this enigmatic man—whispers claimed he was hideously ugly and too ashamed to show his face, possibly harboring dark, twisted obsessions.
Without hesitation, the Baileys sacrificed me to protect their precious biological daughter, forcing me to take her place as a pawn in this cold, calculated arrangement.
Luckily, in those four years, the mysterious husband never asked to meet in person.
Now, in the final year of our arrangement, the husband I've never met is demanding we meet face to face.
But disaster struck the night before my return—drunk and disoriented, I stumbled into the wrong hotel room and ended up sleeping with the legendary financial mogul, Caspar Thornton.
What the hell am I supposed to do now?
The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."
Danielle Harris is the daughter of an overprotective police chief and has led a sheltered life. As a kindergarten teacher, she's as far removed from the world of Harleys and bikers as you could get, but when she's rescued by the sexy and dangerous Austin Carver, her life is changed forever.
Although Austin 'Booker' Carver is enamored by the innocent Dani, he tries to keep the police chief's daughter at arm's length. But when a threat is made from an unexpected source, he finds himself falling hard and fast for the only woman who can tame his wild heart.
Will Booker be able to find the source of the threat before it's too late?
Will Dani finally give her heart to a man who's everything she's been warned about?
Chosen By The Cursed Alpha King
"But I will survive."
I whispered it to the moon, to the chains, to myself—until I believed it.
They say Alpha King Maximus is a monster — too big, too brutal, too cursed. His bed is a death sentence, and no woman has ever left it alive. So why did he choose me?
The fat, unwanted omega. The one my own pack offered up like trash. One night with the merciless King was supposed to end me. Instead, it ruined me. Now I crave the man who takes without mercy. His touch burns. His voice commands. His body destroys. And I keep going back for more. But Maximus doesn't do love. He doesn't do mates. He takes. He owns. And he never stays.
"Before my beast consumes me completely—I need a son to take the throne."
Too bad for him…I'm not the weak, pathetic girl they threw away. I'm something far more dangerous —the one woman who can break his curse… or break his kingdom.
Triplet Alpha: My Fated Mates
"No." "I'm fine."
"Fuck," he breathes. "You're—"
"Don't." My voice cracks. "Please don't say it."
"Aroused." He says it anyway. "You're aroused."
"I'm not—"
"Your scent." His nostrils flare. "Kara, you smell like—"
"Stop." I cover my face with my hands. "Just—stop."
Then his hand on my wrist, pulling my hands away.
"There's nothing wrong with wanting us," he says softly. "It's natural. You're our mate. We're yours."
"I know." My voice is barely a whisper.
I spent ten years as a ghost in the Sterling mansion—a debt slave to the triplet Alphas who made my life hell. They called me "Carrot," shoved me into frozen rivers, and left me to die in the snow when I was eleven.
On my eighteenth birthday, everything changed. My first shift released a scent of white musk and first snow—and three former tormentors stood outside my door, claiming I was their fated mate. All three of them.
Overnight, the debt vanished. Asher's commands turned to vows, Blake's fists became trembling apologies, and Cole swore they'd been waiting for me all along. They declared me their Luna and promised to spend their lives atoning.
My wolf howls to accept them. But one question haunts me:
Would that eleven-year-old girl, freezing and certain she would die, forgive the choice I'm about to make?
