THE HOCKEY ALPHA'S HUMAN MATE
Jay Mia · Ongoing · 89.7k Words
Introduction
Her boyfriend walks into the restaurant with another woman on his arm… and breaks her heart publicly. But across the room sits Killian Wilde, captain of the Northwind Icehawks—and an Alpha werewolf trying to unwind after a big win. When chaos erupts, one scent hits him harder than any check on the ice. Mate.
A spontaneous, spite-fueled kiss from Lara ignites a bond he’s spent his whole life searching for.
She thinks it’s a reckless moment.
He knows it’s fate.
Now Lara finds herself entangled with a man whose world is colder, wilder, and far more dangerous than she ever imagined and who’s determined to show her that the holidays aren’t cursed after all… not when she belongs to an Alpha who’d burn winter down for her.
Warm lights, cold ice, one irresistible Alpha.
This Christmas, her heart doesn’t stand a chance.
Chapter 1
LARA PARKER.
It is the WORST time of the year. Don’t ask why, lest we end up triggering the series of unfortunate events. Yes, I am desperately hoping that it would not be the same as all the other years. But what happened?
I woke up to the water supply system at my apartment being under maintenance, which I had not been informed of prior, and how did I find out? Mid shower with my hair half washed, still all shampooed and all. Smell any bad luck yet? No? Wait, there’s more.
“Thank you for coming to my aid, Mariah.” I’d said to my best friend, and quite frankly the only person that has made living in this city not so hellish.
Mariah pulled up her Audi SUV at the parking lot, the car coming to a soft halt, nothing compared to the screeching mess my excuse of a car gives off. She turned her head to look at me, her smile blinding, even more so than the purple highlights in her hair. “Don’t mention it. Saves me the trouble of going through Nana’s way too long Christmas eve tradition.” She shuddered at the thought, as if she had gotten chills. “There are too many traditions and too little time for it.”
My brows drew in as I reached out to remove my seatbelt. “Isn’t Christmas eve in like, seven days?” How can the tradition begin by now?
She stared at me dead in the eyes, and said one thing in response. “Exactly,” She deadpanned, and something about her tone told me not to inquire further, and I did not. Heaving out a breath, she shook her head, shooing the thoughts away.
Glancing outside, my lips parted slightly at the snow that was falling, and I glanced down at my outfit before shifting my questioning gaze to Mariah. “Do you think I should’ve worn something more covering?” I arched a brow. “Or maybe a jacket?”
She gave me a onceover, and I suddenly felt self-conscious. I had on a red dress she’d helped me buy when we went shopping recently. It had spaghetti straps and stopped by my knees, ruffled around the hem. It hug my figure almost as though it was a second skin and that was what made me conscious the most. Luckily, my hair being straightened covered my shoulders, but still.
“Lara, you look gorgeous, girl. If I were Chris, I’d surely tap that.” She winked. “It’s different from your usual top and jeans. I’m sure Chris would feel the same. It’s perfect. Besides, he’d set up this date for you at this time, I’m sure a proposal is coming your way and when it does, it’s best to look your absolute best. It’s the pictures you’d be looking back at later on.”
I gave her an amused look, feeling some of my nerves go down. She’s right.
I chuckled, successfully removing the seatbelt. I patted down my straightened auburn hair—it was a hassle taming it to that position I tell you. “Yeah, well, hopefully he’d put a ring on it.” I sounded calmer than I was internally. My inner teen is all giddy at the thought, clapping her hands her hands. “I’d need some good my way after the shitty day I had at work today.”
“Difficult client?” She arched a brow.
“Don’t mention it. Mrs. Vance is becoming even more insufferable as well.” Mrs. Vance is my direct supervisor at work and so, technically, my boss. I shook my head. “Wouldn’t answer back, and I need to nail a great interview before the year ends, else, I might as well kiss my end of the year bonus goodbye.” ‘And it’s a goodbye for my mother’s house as well’ I thought, but did not add. “Damn those sports dudes.” I hissed, because I could see my payroll flying away just as much as their goals were.
Mariah offered me what was supposed to be an encouraging smile. “You’d get it, I’m sure. If anyone could pull it off, it’s you.” Her smile widened, and I would’ve believed her if I hadn’t woken up with more bad luck than I’ve had the entire year.
“Thanks, Mariah.” I said regardless, then pushed the door open. “I’ll get going now.”
“Good luck!” She yelled from behind as I stepped out of the car. “And just know, it’s totally okay if you’re too smitten by Chris after your proposal that you’d forget to update me. But, I want all the details tomorrow.”
My grin widened. “Of course. Talk to you later.” I waved at her.
“Bye!” She waved back.

Excerpt:
She lay before him in all her magnificent beauty draped across his king-size bed in the most compelling and provocative way known to man or beast. And for Alpha Zayne, it was the most captivating view he had ever had the pleasure of seeing with his own eyes.
She stared at his every movement, lips slightly parted, her stunning brown eyes scanning every inch of his gorgeously toned and glorious body while heat radiated off of hers. He was HERS.
Her body trembled in delight and anticipation; she was ready and wanted to be with him in every way.
As innocent as she was, she wanted him to...no need him to take her in the worse ways, bringing her to heights of pleasures she had never experienced before.
Fuck she is beautiful, one fine specimen, and she is all MINE, MY MATE. A wave of pure unbridled possessiveness vibrated through Alpha Zayne. He thanked the Divine Moon Goddess, for she has truly blessed him.
He drank her in, eyes trailing up her toned sexy legs spread wide for him, and she gave him that come-and-get-it look.
Let Them Kneel

She lived among humans—quiet, invisible, tucked away in a town no one looked at twice.
But when her first heat comes without warning, everything changes.
Her body ignites. Her instincts scream. And something primal stirs beneath her skin—
summoning a big, bad Alpha who knows exactly how to quench her fire.
When he claims her, it’s ecstasy and ruin.

Chosen.

Especially him.
She’ll be the dream he keeps chasing… the one thing that ever made him feel alive.
Because secrets never stay buried.
And neither do dreams.
Tango with the Alpha's Heart
“He met her at the Alpha training camp,” he said. “She is a perfect suitor for him. It snowed last night, indicating that his wolf is happy with his choice.”
My heart sank, and tears made their way down my cheeks.
Alexander took my innocence last night, and now he is taking that thing in his office as his Luna.

After One Night with the Alpha
I thought I was waiting for love. Instead, I got fucked by a beast.
My world was supposed to bloom at the Moonshade Bay Full Moon Festival—champagne buzzing in my veins, a hotel room booked for Jason and me to finally cross that line after two years. I’d slipped into lacy lingerie, left the door unlocked, and lay on the bed, heart pounding with nervous excitement.
But the man who climbed into my bed wasn’t Jason.
In the pitch-black room, drowned in a heady, spicy scent that made my head spin, I felt hands—urgent, scorching—searing my skin. His thick, pulsing cock pressed against my dripping cunt, and before I could gasp, he thrust hard, tearing through my innocence with ruthless force. Pain burned, my walls clenching as I clawed at his iron shoulders, stifling sobs. Wet, slick sounds echoed with every brutal stroke, his body unrelenting until he shuddered, spilling hot and deep inside me.
"That was amazing, Jason," I managed to say.
"Who the fuck is Jason?"
My blood turned to ice. Light slashed across his face—Brad Rayne, Alpha of Moonshade Pack, a werewolf, not my boyfriend. Horror choked me as I realized what I’d done.
I ran away for my life!
But weeks later, I woke up pregnant with his heir!
They say my heterochromatic eyes mark me as a rare true mate. But I’m no wolf. I’m just Elle, a nobody from the human district, now trapped in Brad's world.
Brad’s cold gaze pins me: “You carry my blood. You’re mine.”
There is no other choice for me but to chose this cage. My body also betrays me, craving the beast who ruined me.
