Chapter 1
Aurelia’s POV
Everyone knew Kieran Blackwood was the most dangerous man in this city—mafia boss, cold-blooded killer, hands stained with blood.
And I, Aurelia Fairmont, the rebellious heiress, was his dirty little secret.
Every night, he'd pin me beneath him, claiming me with that rough whisper against my ear: "You're mine. Always." That possessive hunger made me believe I meant something to him.
Until she came back.
When danger struck, he didn't hesitate for a second. He dove for her, shielding her body with his own.
Fifty million dollars. That's what he paid my father for me—for three years of "guardianship rights." I was just his plaything while he waited for her return. A toy that could moan.
When she stole my mother's heirloom, he didn't just refuse to help—he locked me in his basement and tortured me for seven days and nights. That's when I finally saw the truth.
The day I left, I didn't look back.
What I didn't know was that after I left, the man went insane...
Sweat still glistened on our skin. I watched Kieran rise and dress, his long fingers fastening each button on his shirt.
His phone buzzed on the nightstand.
He glanced at the screen, his expression turning cold.
"Not staying the night again?" I asked.
"I have business to handle." He adjusted his tie without looking at me.
Buzz buzz buzz—another string of notifications.
I knew who it was. Celeste. My "sweet, poor" sister, always conveniently unwell at the most opportune moments.
Kieran finished dressing and leaned down to brush his lips against mine. "Get some rest. Don't wait up."
Gentle, like he was soothing a well-trained cat.
The moment the door clicked shut, I grabbed my phone and called my father.
"Aurelia? What do you want at this hour?" His voice dripped with undisguised impatience.
"I agree to the arranged marriage. In two weeks, I'll marry that hideous cripple from the Ravencroft family."
Silence stretched across the line.
"But I have one condition." I got straight to the point. "I want you to disown me."
"Aurelia, you don't need to go that far—"
"Drop the act, Father." I laughed coldly. "You want to make room for Genevieve and Celeste anyway. Here's your chance."
I hung up.
Lying back in bed, memories I'd rather forget flooded back. Three years ago, I'd just turned eighteen.
"The city's most feared mafia heir will discipline you properly." That's what Father had said, his voice thick with threat.
I remember the first time I saw Kieran. He stood in the Blackthorne estate's sitting room, dressed in an impeccably tailored black three-piece suit, eyes cold as ice. Everyone waited to watch the legendary ruthless heir make me cry.
But I wasn't afraid of him. If anything, I found him interesting.
I replaced all his toiletries with pink versions—pink razor, pink toothbrush, pink towels. He used them without complaint, his expression never changing.
I made faces behind him during video conferences. The mob bosses on screen turned pale, but Kieran continued discussing weapons trafficking details with complete composure.
Until that night that changed everything.
After a party, we were both drunk. When he went to shower, I stole his bathrobe, curious to see this cold-blooded man flustered.
When he walked out of the bathroom naked, I instinctively tried to throw the robe back and run. He caught my wrist. Alcohol stripped away our control.
The next morning, I thought I was dead.
But he only whispered my name tenderly: "Aurelia."
"This is our secret." His hand caressed my face, his voice holding a warmth I'd never heard before.
That moment, I fell.
For the next three years, we maintained this forbidden relationship. By day, he was the ruthless mafia boss and I was the rebellious heiress being disciplined. By night, we were secret lovers, finding warmth in the darkness.
I thought it was enough.
Until my birthday.
On my twenty-first birthday, I gathered my courage to end this hidden affair and make us official. I waited for him at the French restaurant where we'd had our first date, wearing the blue dress he loved.
I waited four hours. From seven until eleven, when the restaurant was about to close.
As I walked out, a familiar black Maybach drove past. Through the window, I saw Kieran and Celeste. She wore a pure white dress, looking harmless as she leaned against his shoulder, both of them laughing together.
I'd never seen that expression on his face before.
When I got home, I finally confronted him: "Why did you stand me up?"
"Celeste wasn't feeling well. I had to take care of her." His tone was dismissive, as if my birthday meant nothing.
That moment, my heart turned to ice.
The next morning, I went home to pack.
When I pushed open the Fairmont mansion door, Father sat in the living room with Genevieve and Celeste, the picture of domestic bliss. The scene made my eyes sting.
My luggage was already neatly stacked by the entrance, and Celeste was walking out of what used to be my room.
"Aurelia, you're back!" She smiled sweetly. "Dad said I could have your room. You don't mind, right?"
"Aurelia, disowning each other seems unnecessary—" Father looked uncomfortable.
"Isn't this perfect?" I walked toward them, each step deliberate and heavy. "You can finally openly bring your mistress and her daughter into the family home. I've wanted nothing to do with you since the day you orchestrated my mother's murder!"
"That wasn't intentional!" Father protested urgently.
"Of course not." I smiled coldly. "Mother discovered her husband's affair, had a mental breakdown, threatened divorce. You feared for the family's reputation and status, so you wanted to 'teach her a lesson' to keep her quiet. You just hit her too hard and accidentally killed her. Did I get that right, dear Father?"
His face turned ashen.
"Since you want to sell me for profit, let's use this transaction to sever our relationship permanently."
I dragged my suitcase out of that house without looking back.
I checked into Ashford City's most expensive hotel suite and went on a shopping spree.
A Patek Philippe diamond ladies' watch, Cartier diamond necklace, Bulgari limited edition jewelry—I bought every expensive item like I was taking revenge.
Father called furiously: "If we're severing ties, why are you still spending my money?"
"Call it an investment, Father." I spoke righteously. "Just like you raised me all these years to sell me for a good price someday. Besides, the Ravencroft family is offering you two hundred million for this marriage. Without me, you'd never see that money!"
But soon enough, hotel staff knocked on my door.
"I'm sorry, Miss Fairmont, your credit card has been frozen." The receptionist was polite but firm. "Please settle your account immediately or we'll have to involve the authorities."

Even worse was overhearing Darrell laugh to his friends: "She's useful—obedient, doesn't cause trouble, handles housework, and I can fuck her whenever I need relief. She's basically a live-in maid with benefits." He made crude thrusting gestures, sending his friends into laughter.
In despair, Sable left, reclaimed her true identity, and married her childhood neighbor—Lycan King Caelan, nine years her senior and her fated mate. Now Darrell desperately tries to win her back. How will her revenge unfold?

That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

“There are no limits between us,” he chuckled, the mirth sparkling in his gorgeous eyes. “And all of this stems from the night you gave me both pain and pleasure. I’m simply returning the favor.”
He took two steps forward, and I stepped back. “But…” The memory of what I had done filled me with fear, and I knew I had to get out of there. “I…”
“No, Firecat.” He placed an index finger on my lips. “This will take your mind off that son of a bitch.” His strong hands pulled me by the waist until I felt his hard manhood.
