Tragic End After Donating a Kidney: My Ex Went Insane
Angela · Completed · 8.6k Words
Introduction
To force me to leave with nothing, she even cut off my mother's medication, coldly declaring, "Your mother is just a liability that deserves to be optimized."
She thought I would wag my tail and beg for mercy like a stray dog.
Little did she know, suffering from single kidney failure, I transformed myself into the deadliest viral code before my death, dragging her business empire and that male mistress into an inescapable hell.
On the day the truth came to light, the once-powerful tech queen went completely mad. She squandered her fortune, kneeling in the frost of the morgue, kowtowing and weeping blood, begging me to look at her one last time. But she couldn't find a single hair of mine.
Because I had already made a will, ordering my remains to be cremated as high-risk medical waste.
She treated me like dirt when she was alive, and after she died, I found her disgusting and didn't even bother to leave her a handful of ashes.
Chapter 1
Dozens of pages of English "Living Organ Donation Consent Form" came crashing down on me, the sharp edges of the pages tearing a bloody gash in my brow bone.
"Sign it. You pushed Julian down the stairs, causing his kidney to rupture, so you have to pay for it with your own kidney!"
Victoria, in her red-soled high heels, looked down at me condescendingly. My wife of three years, her eyes were filled with pity for another man, and she looked at me as if I were a bag of trash.
Warm blood trickled down my cheek. For three years, she and Julian had been inseparable, and the entire Manhattan high society knew I was a cuckolded bastard who could be manipulated at will.
I endured it again and again because of my mother's expensive targeted therapy.
But now, they actually want to dissect me alive.
I gripped my phone tightly and shoved the CCTV footage, which I'd worked on overnight, in front of her: "Victoria, look closely! He rolled down the stairs on his own! The acute kidney failure was a setup he orchestrated by bribing his private doctor!"
"Smack!"
She slapped the phone away, and it shattered on the marble floor.
"Still trying to deny it? Julian is lying in the ICU coughing up blood, and you're using this AI-generated garbage to smear him?" Victoria's voice was sharp and grating. "Arthur, you're disgusting."
Before I could say anything more, she had already shoved the iPad in my face.
The video shows my mother, who is seriously ill and in a coma.
The vital signs monitor next to it was black, and the power plug for the life support equipment that should have been plugged into the wall was carelessly left on the cold floor tiles.
"You pulled out my mom's tubes?!" I lunged forward, trying to snatch the tablet.
Two bodyguards in suits immediately stepped forward, twisted my arms behind my back, and forcefully pushed me to the ground.
Victoria coldly watched my miserable state as I struggled to break free: "If you're not on an operating table at Sacred Heart Hospital by eight o'clock tomorrow morning, the hospital will throw your mother, bed and all, into the slums of Brooklyn."
It felt like the air in my lungs had been sucked out.
I looked up at Victoria's exquisite face. This was the woman I had loved for three years. For her, I gave up a high-paying job as a top architect in Silicon Valley and was willing to live an invisible life in my Long Island villa.
Now, because of a lie told by her lover, she not only wants to cut off my mother's path to survival, but also wants to rip out my kidney.
A metallic taste of blood welled up in my throat, and suddenly I didn't want to struggle anymore.
The bodyguard paused, his grip loosening. I slowly got up from the ground, wiping the blood from my eyes with the back of my hand. There was no anger, no roar.
“Okay, I’ll donate.” My voice was so hoarse I could barely make a sound.
A hint of surprise flashed in Victoria's eyes, and she scoffed, "It would have been better if you had just faced reality sooner, instead of being so foolish."
I ignored her mockery and walked straight to the walnut desk, pulling out the Montblanc pen.
The pen scratched across the consent form with a crisp, clean sound as "Arthur" signed it.
After signing, I unzipped my briefcase and pulled out another document from the bottom compartment. Laying it flat next to the donation form, I signed my name without hesitation and then pushed it to Victoria's side.
"I'll give you the kidney. You can sign this document too."
Victoria glanced at it impatiently, but stopped abruptly when her eyes fell on the header.
Divorce agreement.
Moreover, the terms clearly state that the man voluntarily relinquishes all property and leaves with nothing.
"What do you mean?" She looked up abruptly, her eyes filled with disbelief. "Arthur, you dare to mention divorce to me?"
a video call from Julian .
The screen connected, and Julian's deliberately feigned weak face popped up, with the white walls of the ICU behind him.
“Vicky…is Arthur unwilling to save me?” Julie coughed twice, feigning distress, her voice trembling. “It’s alright, my life is worthless. It doesn’t matter if I die, I don’t want to put you in a difficult position …”
He caught a glimpse of the divorce papers out of the corner of his eye, his eyes lit up, but he feigned weakness as he said, "Darling, you don't need to divorce for me. I don't want Arthur to take away your assets. I just want to stay by your side, I'll do anything for you."
This cunning remark immediately extinguished Victoria's last remaining doubts.
Her gaze turned cold and harsh again, as if she had seen through my tricks.
"So this was what you were waiting for? Playing hard to get?" Victoria laughed angrily, grabbing the pen. "Arthur, you think you can control me with a divorce? You think I'd care about someone like you who'd only be able to collect welfare on the street corner after we divorce?"
The pen tip moved wildly across the paper, tearing the back of the paper.
I calmly put my copy of the agreement back into my bag, without even glancing at Julian, who was secretly gloating on the screen.
"I will be in the operating room at eight o'clock tomorrow morning."
As I turned to walk towards the door, I stopped and, with my back to her, said, "Victoria, I hope you won't regret signing this today."
I pushed open the door and strode into the pale, dim light of the corridor. Behind me, all I heard was Victoria's disdainful snort.
