Introduction
"Dare," I replied, locking eyes with him. Let's see what he has up his sleeve.
"I dare you to kiss me."
Two weeks ago, I thought I'd escaped Mr. Perfect's grasp when I resigned from his company. No more mindless Truth and Dare games, no more toxic dynamics. Or so I thought...
Now, reality slaps me in the face: I'm carrying his child.
Will Mr. Perfect accept this unexpected twist? Or will my happy ever after remain a distant dream?
Chapter 1
DAHILA
Dustfinger. Dustfinger. Dustfinger this. Dustfinger that. He is the one who always loved to get on my nerves!
It's annoying how everyone blames me for getting on the boss's bad side, "He's our boss, give him some respect."
Does he even deserve our respect?! I tried my best to stay in his good books, but from day one, all he's done is provoke me.
How can a boss make his workers feel this uncomfortable?
"You're so ugly and yet, your work is this untidy? Work on this again or get out of my sight Dustfinger!" he sneers, glaring into my eyes.
I mean, did we meet each other in the afterlife? If we didn't, how come he is always full of spite for me?
Did I steal his lover? But I'm a girl, I have no dick in between my legs. I'm not aspiring to steal his position away from him, but then, he acts like I did something horrific to him.
I hate him. I hate him so much. With every fiber in my being. Everything about him especially his curly stupid hair! He's nothing but a bag of garbage, I wonder why everyone keeps calling him NICE when he's nothing but a RAT!!
How much I want to whack his head, it's impossible because he is my boss. If everyone boasts of having a nice boss, I don't because I have one stupid jerk who thinks the world revolves around him.
"You know, as my secretary, you should always be on your best behavior, always be clean. Come to the office well kept and your hair...can't you do something about it?"
So many orders!!! Simply because I'm working with that wimp! Ugh!!
"He has a girlfriend," Annabelle whispered to me smiling as she noticed that I had my eyes on him this whole time as he walked into the cafeteria to get his lunch.
But I chuckled. "He has a girlfriend? How is she coping with him?"
His eyes met mine and I looked away immediately. I let out a sheepish smile as I sipped my coffee quietly.
He's silly. So silly. Who would believe that he loves playing childish pranks with me? Truth or Dare. How petty!
I wonder what I would dare him this time, he made me run errands for him the last time just because of a simple dare. I won't let it slide if I ever run into him today.
But that night, two days later was a mistake. He had started it. He was yelling at me for barging into his office without knocking. I was explaining myself.
"I knocked sir, I'm so sorry..." I was speaking before his hands covered his nose.
"Damn! You smell! How could a woman be smelling like this!! Do you even use roll-on?"
I rolled my eyes, I desperately fought back the whole strength in me not to hit his face. How can one man be so rude!! I wanted to scratch out his eyes, a mark that will always be indelible on his face.
"How can you stink like this!! Oh my God. I'm just going to keep you in this company for one year! That's the deal I had with my grandmother over workers I employ into the company, don't let me lose my patience."
Lose it!!! I think I've finally lost my wits, if he's a spoilt brat, I will do well to set him straight.
That he is a boss doesn't mean I can't beat him up. He wants to fire me, I keep on waiting patiently for the day he will do that. I stepped closer to him.
Height to height and eyes to eyes. I was almost taller than him because of my heels on my feet.
"You have something to say?" he filtrated into my reverie while I shook my head and bowed immediately.
And that's when he started his stupid game again, "Truth or Dare." He had said and I scowled. I hate backing out from his silly games so easily. No, not this time. Not ever! That's the time I tend to show off how much I hate him.
"Dare," I replied attacking his eyes with mine, let's see what he has up his sleeves.
"I dare you to kiss me."
DAVIS
You see that day was a big mistake for me. I didn't mean it when I said she should kiss me.
I was trying to scare her away. I mean, she was being dared to kiss a hottie like me and as a woman with some dignity, she should've backed off screaming defeat but she didn't. She grabbed onto me and kissed me more than I could've imagined.
I don't know but I desperately want to forget that day. How could I kiss her? How would I let her lips touch mine? How did I even start up a foolish game with her?
Do I blame her? It's all my grandma's fault!!! She employed her in my company to torment me. That's why she desperately forbade me from firing anyone from the company.
How can that old woman loathe her grandson like this? Since I was little, she barely thinks of me. She's the reason why I'm an orphan, yet, she does little to make amends to what she did to my parents.
"Grandma, she dares me a lot. She has no office manners. No etiquette, she behaves as she wants, and she doesn't even have a tiny bit of respect for me. I need to fire her."
"Heck no Davis, you made a promise to me. You don't fire any worker until after one year."
"What do you mean by you kissed Dahila?" Ollie queried as we sat drinking.
"I don't know what happened but that bastard kissed me!" I yelled, "This is driving me crazy! I can't believe I let her dirty lips touch mine," the thought of that makes my whole body cringe, I desperately want to forget that day. "I haven't been able to sleep ever since that day, her ugly face haunts me, her dirty lips in mine made me go for a full body check up. I even changed my skincare products, I don't feel safe anymore. Grandma won't let me fire her from the company. I'm tired, Ollie, I feel like she's taunting me on purpose,"
Why is that woman never scared and always standing up to me? Is it because we are of the same height? She's one of the tallest girls in the company, could've been a model, but sorry, she lacks the body for it. And oops! Her face also betrayed her.
And her hair, jeez! Why didn't God make her a man? I would've made her my bodyguard or my bouncer. She would've been fit for that job but would she even survive beside me? Hell no, she's so dirty. A girl who never washes her hair!! Sometimes she'd come to work with smeared coffees on her shirt or skirt.
She doesn't even have a good walking step, always stumbling on her heels, one day, I saw her carrying her heels in her hand while walking barefooted on the floor.
"Why did you kiss me?" I asked crossing my arms as I sat in my chair, she stood opposite me with her head bowed.
"You dared me to..." my fist slammed the table while she raised her face to meet mine.
"I dared you and you did it? You should've avoided it!! You should've..." I clenched my fist, I hate to think that my lips touched hers. The thought makes me want to throw up. I know how hard I've worked on my mental health ever since that day.
I smirked, "I get you Dahila." I smiled broadly, "I have heard so many scores of secretaries falling for their bosses. I know, it may have happened to you but keep it in mind, I'm way out of your league. I have the world most perfect girlfriend. Beautiful and have all it takes to be the most perfect woman for me."
"That woman is suffering if she has to put up with someone like you,"
That brat is talking back at me again!! "Did you say something?"
"You dared me to kiss you which I did. I hate to think that I fell for your antics but... I came in here to turn in my resignation. I can't work in a place like this."
I beamed immediately watching as she slapped her resignation letter to my desk, "You're quitting?"

He Never Loved Me, Until I Left
I put away the divorce agreement with a wry smile.
When he and my son completely disappeared, he finally panicked.
Three months later .
He knelt down on the streets of Chicago in despair, begging me to remarry him.
My six-year-old son looked coldly at his biological father and said, "Get lost, you bad uncle! You don't deserve to be my dad!"
The Family Sacrifice
I simply said one word: "Okay."
My parents and Gilbert were stunned. They rushed to have me sign the voluntary donation form, afraid I’d change my mind.
Some days later, they sent me to the operating room.
Dad said, "Yvonne will finally be saved. We're so proud of you."
Mom said, "After the surgery, we'll make it up to you."
Gilbert looked tenderly at Yvonne and said, "When you're better, where should we travel?"
What they didn't know was that the day I agreed, I'd just received my diagnosis, stage four cancer. Three months to live.
As I lay on the cold operating table, as the anesthesia began to take effect, I only wanted to know one thing:
If I die on this operating table, will they regret it?
He Thought I'd Never Leave
When he said he was being bullied, I believed him. When he kissed me on that rooftop, I thought he felt the same. When he asked me to transfer schools with him, I said yes without hesitation.
Then I heard him bragging to his friends: "She'd save her first time for me. Hell, she'd still be thinking of me on her wedding night."
The bullying was staged. The kiss meant nothing. He just wanted me gone—so his new girl could feel more comfortable.
He thought I'd beg. He thought I'd cry. He thought I'd never actually leave.
I left the country.
And ran straight into his stepbrother.
I Died While They Threw Her a Party
Their real daughter came home. She'd only been back two years. That's all it took to erase twenty-four.
When kidnappers grabbed us, I used my body as a shield. They beat me until something inside me ruptured. I was dying from internal bleeding, but no one could tell.
My parents wouldn't even look at me. "This is your fault! None of this would've happened if it weren't for you!"
"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."
They threw her a party at a downtown hotel while I died alone in my room.
I thought they'd be relieved. Maybe even glad. I thought they'd just move on like I never existed.
But when they finally learned the truth, they fell apart.
Bury Me in His Regret
The kidnapper pressed the gun to my temple and asked, "Choose your wife or your sister-in-law?"
Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.
He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.
Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.
When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.
"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."
The Kidney That Killed Me
A few months ago, my sister was hospitalized with kidney failure. The doctor said she needed a transplant. My family's first thought was me—the backup daughter they'd kept around all these years.
When my husband Allen took my hand with tears in his eyes and said, "Only you can save her," I agreed without hesitation.
When the doctor explained the surgical risks and potential complications, I smiled and nodded my understanding.
My parents said I'd finally learned what sisterly love meant.
Even Allen, who'd always been cold to me, held my hand gently and said, "The surgery's safe. You're so healthy, nothing will go wrong. When you recover, I'll take you to Hawaii."
But they don't know that no matter how the surgery goes, I won't be around to celebrate.
Because I just got my own test results—I have terminal brain cancer. I'm going to die anyway.
After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Accardi
“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
