Chapter 1
I used to be the happiest food-truck girl on the streets of Brooklyn. Spencer Grant said he loved the warmth and down-to-earth spark I carried with me.
But over the six years of our marriage, he wrapped me layer by layer in Michelin-starred rules and fussy French culinary etiquette, turning me into a flawless, cold, untouchable chef.
Six years later, he asked me for a divorce because of a girl who ran a roadside taco stand.
He said my food was perfect but suffocating, while that girl made him feel alive again.
The way his eyes lit up when he talked about her was exactly how he'd looked at me when we'd first met six years ago.
In that moment, I knew our marriage was over.
On the night of our sixth wedding anniversary, snow fell heavily outside.
Seated at opposite ends of the long dining table, Spencer and I were separated by a cold, suffocating silence.
The Burgundy beef I'd spent four hours slow-braising, served with black-truffle mashed potatoes, had gone completely cold. A murky, dark-red layer of gelatin had congealed across the surface.
It looked exactly like our marriage.
The phone in Spencer's suit pocket vibrated for the third time.
The screen was faceup, flashing the same name over and over: "Riley."
He didn't answer. He simply tugged his tie loose in irritation, finally breaking the suffocating silence.
"Beatrice, let's get a divorce." His voice was as even as if he were discussing a business deal. "I know this is sudden, but we've had problems for a long time."
I didn't answer right away. I picked up my napkin, wiped the corner of my mouth, then shifted my gaze from the congealed beef to his face.
"For the girl selling tacos in Brooklyn?"
Clearly, Spencer hadn't expected me to know. A flicker of surprise crossed his eyes.
But he quickly adjusted his posture, leaned back in his chair, and folded his hands.
"It's not just about Riley. This is about us."
He frowned slightly, as though he were doing me the favor of explaining.
"Beatrice, don't you feel it yourself? You've changed. Your food, your whole life—everything revolves around Michelin inspectors' tastes and the spacing of every element on a plate. You're perfect, refined... and suffocating."
He paused, and something almost nostalgic appeared in his eyes.
"And Riley... her cooking is rough, sure, but when she laughs, she's alive. She's got this warmth, this raw, everyday energy. She makes me feel like I'm still breathing. Like I'm actually alive."
I listened in silence, a faint cramp twisting in my stomach. Not because I was heartbroken. Because the whole thing was absurd.
The warmth he was so captivated by...
Six years ago, I drove a battered secondhand Ford food truck through the streets of New York, selling my secret-recipe barbecue sandwiches in all kinds of weather.
Back then, he had walked up to me, covered in grease, taken my hand, and frowned as he said, "Beatrice, your talent shouldn't be trapped in this truck. My wife shouldn't smell like cheap street food."
He was the one who threw away the battered grill pan I'd used for years and handed me a set of French knives worth thousands of dollars.
He was the one who spent six years using elaborate French culinary etiquette and unforgiving rules to scrub away every trace of "cheapness" from me, personally molding me into a flawless Michelin-starred chef.
And now he was using the exact same reason to worship another girl's "roughness" and "freedom."
"So you're ending our marriage for this so-called 'warmth.'" I stated it like a fact, my tone no different from checking tomorrow's kitchen order.
"Don't make it sound so vulgar, Beatrice." Spencer was clearly irritated by my indifference. "I'll give you a generous settlement. You can stay on as head chef, and I'll raise your salary by twenty percent."
I looked at his hypocritical face, stood up, took a document from the drawer beneath the bar, and returned to the table. I slid it in front of him.
"What is this?" Spencer frowned.
"A term sheet." I looked him straight in the eye. "My lawyer reviewed the trust holding the Hamptons house. Since you've been cheating during our marriage, if this goes to court, your group's stock price and public image are going to take a serious hit."
I uncapped my pen and set it on the document.
"You keep the Hamptons house. But the penthouse and the Porsche 911 in the garage are mine."
I didn't pause.
"Besides, you're probably going to spend your future riding around Brooklyn in that beat-up pickup with your new girlfriend, trying to feel alive. A sports car with that kind of low clearance won't exactly be practical."
"Beatrice, can you not be so materialistic?" Spencer clenched his jaw, clearly stung by how meticulously I had calculated everything. "In your eyes, are six years of love nothing more than a cold liquidation of assets?"
I didn't argue. I simply lowered my eyes and stiffly pulled the wedding ring I'd worn for six years from my finger.
Because I'd never taken it off in all that time, the band had rubbed a red mark around my knuckle, breaking the skin just enough to leave a tiny smear of blood.
Spencer stared at the red mark, and for a moment, panic flickered across his face. He instinctively reached out.
"Your hand..."
I smoothly moved my fingers out of reach and placed the diamond ring, still gleaming coldly, beside the agreement.
"Sign it, Spencer." I met his eyes. "Don't keep your taco girl waiting. It's pretty windy out there tonight."
Spencer stared at me, as if searching my eyes for some sign of collapse or regret.
He was destined to be disappointed. Compared with love that was vague and could spoil at any moment, a penthouse and a Porsche were tangible.
In the end, visibly furious, he grabbed the pen and signed his name.
"You'll regret this, Beatrice. Without my group, you're nothing." He slammed the pen down and strode away without looking back.
The front door slammed shut, making the wineglasses on the table tremble.
I stood alone in the enormous, empty restaurant, staring at the signed agreement. I didn't break down. I didn't shed a single tear.
I walked to the floor-to-ceiling window and looked down.
Among the polished luxury cars below, an old pickup with graffiti painted across the tailgate and a rusted grill in the back pulled away and disappeared into New York's freezing night.
Watching that battered truck, I remembered six years ago.
Actually, the day Spencer forced me to sell that secondhand Ford food truck was the first time I truly asked myself:
If he ever stopped loving me, what would I have left?
I drew the curtains and turned around.
Now I had my answer.

Her family looked down on him, and even she herself said coldly: “You’re not worthy of being my husband.”
Everyone thought this newly released good-for-nothing was just a poor fool who’d taken the fall for his brother.
Thorne said nothing.
He merely raised his hand, gently pressing his bride’s forehead.
In an instant, the chaos in her eyes faded. Holy light surged from beneath the church, shooting into the sky.
The world’s only candidate for the Saintess, blessed with holy power, slowly opened her clear eyes before him.
The Last of US
I’m not sure that was what I expected him to say, but I had been waiting to hear it. I smiled playfully, looking at him. “Yes, my king,” I said.
Moments, his lips were on mine. The kiss was soft and gentle at first, his hands wrapped around my waist, pulling me close to him; I let my arms find their way around his neck. I felt his tongue gently run along my lower lip and couldn’t help the soft moan that escaped my mouth at its touch. Von only took that as permission and slipped his tongue into my mouth; I let my tongue explore his mouth as he did the same to mine. Eventually, the kiss grew deeper, and before I knew it, I was straddling his lap in one quick motion. His hands found their way to my hair, tangled in it as he tugged it lightly in his grip. I couldn’t help moaning against his lips; a growl of pleasure came from deep in his throat.
My name is Arianna Maree Paxton however I Hate that name my parents gave me that name, after my , great-great grandmother. However, they do have their own rules they each follow but for the most part the respect each other, it doesn’t mean they share anything by any means. Each has their own schools, hospitals, and way of living but terrroity and lives are generally respected. However, I feel that is mostly in part to fear of the Royal family.
However my species is dying out because they have lost their way , when you force your leopard to do horrid things it will eventually leave you , which was what was happing all around me , when that happens you can no longer find a mate , and usually you lose your mind. The mafia princess return
Oops. My Boss Was Seventeen
The Execution: Perfect. I brought him coffee, cheered at his games, and basically operated as his unpaid teenage executive assistant. He’s totally buying it.
The Problem: I was trying to network my way into the C-suite. I think I just networked my way into his bed.
Mafia Don Begs Me Back
Damian coldly gripped her jaw. "Vivian's condition has worsened. The surgery is set for one month from now. Don't worry — I'll find you the best burial plot, and I'll make sure your family is well provided for. You need to understand: if it weren't for your heart, you never could have become my wife, never could have become Mrs. Montgomery. You've enjoyed years of a lavish life. Now it's time to give something back."
Even the son she had raised with her own hands screamed at her: "Why won't you just die? If you die, your heart can go to Vivian! I want Vivian to be my mom!"
Elara fell apart. But she was not completely broken.
She slipped the divorce agreement into a stack of contracts that needed Damian's signature. He didn't read closely. He signed. Now, she was free.
Elara accepted the offer — Top Jewelry Appraiser, a seven-figure annual salary. She gave herself one month to say goodbye to the five years she had lost. She withdrew from Damian's life and Caleb's life, little by little, until nothing of her remained.
Until that night, when Damian watched helplessly as a bullet tore through her shoulder and she plunged into the freezing waters of the Atlantic.
"No! Elara! You are not allowed to die!"
In that moment, Damian finally understood — somewhere across those five years, he had already fallen in love with Elara. And a certain truth he had always believed in reversed itself after Elara walked away.
He had been wrong. Catastrophically wrong. Wrong from the very beginning. This proud, noble, and ruthless mafia don was consumed by remorse, and vowed to spend the rest of his life in atonement — to win back Elara, who had lost every last shred of faith in him.
"Elara, I'm begging you. Come back. Come back to me and Caleb."
"Mommy, I'm sorry. Please don't abandon me."
When Elara — now an international figure, admired and adored by countless people — comes face to face once again with the man she once loved with all her heart, and the son who once wished her dead, what choice will she make?
Bella and Her Beast
.
Locked in her frozen tower, Bella dreamed of warmth, of touch, of freedom and of love. Cursed with the power of ice and snow, she’s spent her life alone. A secret they tried to protect the world from. Her only escape comes in the form of the books she reads. Stories of heat, desire, and the kind of love that could melt even her frostbitten heart.
Damien is the Beast. A dragon King with a temper forged in flame and a soul hollowed by duty. The world fears him. The people call him a monster. But beneath the scales and the rage lies a man who has never been touched by love.
When frost meets fire, the world shatters. She was never meant to leave her tower. He was never meant to find her. But destiny doesn’t bow to kings or care for cages and now the question burns through them both: Can Bella have her Beast? Or will the girl of snow melt in the heat of his desire?
.
"I’m keeping her."
"What?"
Before I can react, he scoops her up. Her small body fits easily in the cradle of his talons. For a split second, she looks startled, but not afraid. Her hand rests against one scaled finger, and she stares up at him with that same curious wonder, as though she’s already forgotten she was ever meant to fear me.
"Put her down," I try to command, panic threading through my thoughts. "You’ll hurt her."
"She’s ours," the beast insists, possessive and fierce. "Our snowflake."
Iron And Glamour Just Don't Mix
Well… Sometimes you just might turn out to be right.
It turns out, the fae stole my little brother. In his place? A pixie with boundary issues and a talent for home repairs.
I’ve spent my life taking care of everyone else. So when my baby brother is taken, I don’t hesitate. I walk straight into a faerie mansion and make a bargain with its infuriatingly charming master.
Kie is everything you’d expect from a dangerous fae, beautiful, political, and entirely too amused by me. Power wrapped in a smirk. Sensual, mischievous, and far too aware of the effect he has on people. He agrees to help me find my brother.
For a price.
Now I’m bound by a faerie bargain and navigating a world of glamour, manipulation, and ancient rules I definitely should have learned sooner, enchanted forests, political games, magical contracts, and a fae lord who treats seduction like a perfectly reasonable negotiation tactic.
Iron is how I keep people out.
Glamour is how he draws them in.
And apparently, they just don’t mix.
