Enemies With The Bad Boy
Emma- Louise · Ongoing · 63.4k Words
Introduction
The school bad boy, and my ex-best friend.
We grew up together, and we used to be close. He was the one I told my secrets to, and he told me his until he changed. He turned into someone I did not know. He turned into the kind of guy he used to hate.
The moment he changed, we fell apart. A part of me hated him, and he knew it. He spends his day annoying me, trying to add me to just another notch on his bedpost. I would not lower myself to that. I was no angel, but I was not stupid enough to go there.
It is bad enough that I still have to see him every day at school. My only sanctuary away from him is my house, somewhere he rarely came to, but now even that has been taken away from me. He is coming to stay with us for two weeks while his mother is out of town. I need to try my best not to kill him while he is here.
I dread it from the second my mother told me, but it is amazing how things can change in such a short space of time.
Chapter 1
Jasmine
I am heading to my car after school. I am ready for home. I like school, but I am exhausted today. I approach my car, but before I can reach it, someone gets in my way and blocks my path. I glance up and roll my eyes when I see who the person is.
My fists ball at my sides. “What the hell do you want, Cody?”
Cody Baker, the most annoying human being on the planet! The bane of my existence. I am not one for hating anyone, but I made an exception for him years ago.
A smirk curls on his lips. One that wants to make me punch him in the face. “I am sure I have made that clear, plenty of times.”
“And I have told you a million times, that is never going to happen! I would not go anywhere near you, even if you were the last guy on earth,” I reply firmly.
“Why do you keep fighting it, J? I know you want me.”
God, can I punch him already? I hate when he calls me J. I am not into violence, but I could change my views when it came to him. I push him out of my way, walk by him and climb into my car. Cody spends every day annoying me. He gets kicks out of it.
Cody is the bad boy of our school. He is always getting into trouble and screwing around. I am no angel, but next to him, I could be. My run-in with him makes me more desperate to go home. My house isn’t too far, so the drive isn’t too long. I sigh, anger coursing through me as I drive. He gets on my nerves. Arriving home, I pull into the driveway and head inside.
“Hey sweetie, how was school?” Mom greets me as I enter the living room.
I smile. “Hello, Mom. School was okay.” She doesn’t need to know about the Cody drama.
“Can we talk for a minute?” I nod and take the seat next to her. I have no idea what she wants to discuss.
My little sister Lily comes rushing in. “Jasmine!”
Lilly is six, and the sweetest little girl in the world. She was a surprise to my parents, but this house wouldn’t feel right without her.
I smile brightly and hug her. “Hey, Princess.” Lily climbs into my lap.
I focus my attention on my mom to find out what she wants to talk to me about.
She seems nervous. “Um, we will have a house guest for a couple of weeks.”
“We will? Who?” I have no idea who she could be referring to.
“Cody.”
“What? Why? No? Don’t do this to me,” I groan.
No, this can’t be happening!
Cody’s mom and my mom are best friends and have been for years. Cody and I used to be best friends until we were thirteen, and then he started changing and turned into a complete jackass!
“Because Jackie needs to go and stay with her mom because she had a fall and needs help at home. She doesn’t want Cody missing that long of school, especially since there are only a couple of months left.”
I roll my eyes. “Why do you hate me? I am moving out while he is here.”
Mom laughs. “Oh, Jasmine, stop being so dramatic.”
“I am not. It is bad enough I need to see him at school every day, never mind him staying here.”
“I do not understand what happened between you two. You used to be best friends.”
I cover Lily’s ears with my hand. “We were, and then he turned into a complete jackass.”
Mom places her hand on my knee and squeezes it. “Jasmine, you know he has been through a lot.”
I sigh. “I know that, but that doesn’t give him the right to treat everyone else like crap.”
Cody changed once his parents got divorced. His dad left, and now has a new family and doesn’t even bother with Cody. Cody was twelve when he left, and since then, he has changed completely.
“The two of you used to be inseparable.”
I shrug, “Things change, Mom. He is nothing like the boy I used to know.”
“Jasmine, he isn’t a bad boy, he just makes bad choices.”
I don’t think my mother or his realise just what trouble he gets into or how he uses girls. If they did, I am sure the opinion would be very different.
“When is he coming?”
“Tomorrow. It may be longer than two weeks, it depends, but
Jackie said she would get back as quickly as possible.”
I nod. “Okay.”
I can’t believe he will be staying here. Now I am stuck with him, nearly twenty-four hours a day. There is a good chance I may end up in jail for killing him by the end of his time here.
“Maybe this will give you both a chance to sort things out,” Mom says, her voice hopeful.
“No, that is not going to happen, Mom, so please don’t get your hopes up, okay? I will be polite to him, but don’t expect me to make it feel like home for him, because I won’t.”
“I wish you would sort things out. We always thought you two would end up together,” she smiles.
As soon as she spoke the words, I burst out laughing. Cody and me? No! I wouldn’t go near him for all the money in the world. I know where he has been, with close to every girl in our year, and whoever else outside of school.
I screw up my face and shake my head frantically. “Not if he was the last guy on earth.”
Mom finds my words amusing and laughs. “That is a slight exaggeration.”
“No, it isn’t. I know where he has been. He has had more girls than hot dinners.”
The thought of it is enough to make my skin crawl. Cody is a good-looking guy, not even I could deny that, but looks mean nothing if he is a complete jackass with an attitude problem. He has no respect for anyone, and because of that, I have no respect for him. The girls seem to love his dark hair, blue eyes, and slightly crooked smile, but it suits him. He takes care of himself, too, you can see that when you look at him. He also has a lip piercing, which all the girls find sexy. I do not like it, and then to add to it, he has quite a few tattoos. Those I do like, he has some incredible ones, but none of that matters because he is a douche!
Mom laughs again and shakes her head. Anytime he is around my mom, he plays all sweet and innocent. She falls for it. I know the truth. It is bullshit.
“I am going to go and get my homework done before dinner.”
“Then will you play with me? After dinner, before bed?” Lily asks.
“Of course, what are we playing tonight?” I smile.
I have a lot of time for Lily. I know many teenagers can’t be bothered with younger siblings, but that isn’t me. I love spending time with Lily.
“Lego. Will you read me my bedtime story tonight?” She beams.
“Sure thing, sweet girl.”
I will read her bedtime story and leave her in her own bed, but at least a couple of nights a week, she sneaks into my room and sleeps with me. I don’t mind.
Her entire face lights up, and she throws her arms around my neck. “Yay.”
Lily got down from my lap and went back to playing with her toys. I grab my bag and head to my room to get my homework done. There isn’t much, but I would rather get it out of the way. I strip out of my clothes and change into my sweats, then settle onto my bed to start.
Two minutes later, my cell beeps, signalling a text. Reaching for it, I groan the second I see who it is from. Cody! I have no idea how he got my number. I didn’t give it to him. It wouldn’t surprise me if he talked one of my friends into giving it to him.
Hey, did you hear the good news? We are going to be living together for the next couple of weeks. This is going to be fun xx
Fun? No, it is going to be hell! I text him back.
Yes, I heard the bad news! And there will be nothing fun about it! Now leave me alone!
I hope he gets the hint and doesn’t text back. I should have known better because another text came through a moment later.
I am looking forward to it. See you soon, gorgeous x
I roll my eyes, toss my cell aside. I am not replying. I can’t believe this is happening. What did I ever do to deserve this? The next two weeks or so are going to be torture.

On Christmas Eve, I aborted the CEO's child
On Christmas Eve night, my husband brought his mistress home and demanded that I, his pregnant wife, leave with nothing.
On this day, I lost my husband and also lost the child in my womb...
I Loved You in Silence, You Betrayed Me in French
At my birthday party, my husband whispered to his mistress in French that he missed her. His voice was low, but I heard it all—the black lingerie, the bit about how pregnancy makes you more sensitive. His French clients around us were laughing. He turned and put his arm around me, claiming he was just helping his clients come up with sweet nothings.
He doesn't know I understand every single word. Just like he doesn't know that inside my body, I'm carrying his other surprise. And his mistress—she's pregnant too. Two wombs, one secret.
Confrontation would be too cheap. Tears are worthless. I quietly started cataloging the hidden networks my father left behind, activating the Swiss accounts.
In seven days, Zoey Smith will cease to exist. And what will my husband's reaction be?
He Never Loved Me, Until I Left
I put away the divorce agreement with a wry smile.
When he and my son completely disappeared, he finally panicked.
Three months later .
He knelt down on the streets of Chicago in despair, begging me to remarry him.
My six-year-old son looked coldly at his biological father and said, "Get lost, you bad uncle! You don't deserve to be my dad!"
When I Disappeared, He Regretted It
The moment the screen lit up, my entire world came crashing down.
The woman on the bed was Calista - that girl who grew up with us since we were kids. And that hand caressing her skin was wearing the wedding ring I had personally put on Matteo's finger.
"I've missed you so much..."
"You drive me crazy, baby..."
Those sweet words I knew so well completely destroyed me.
Everyone said we were the perfect couple, but who knew this marriage was built on nothing but lies?
Since he's so good at acting, I guess it's time I gave him a show of my own. I'm going to make sure everyone sees what this "perfect husband" really is...
He Thought I'd Never Leave
When he said he was being bullied, I believed him. When he kissed me on that rooftop, I thought he felt the same. When he asked me to transfer schools with him, I said yes without hesitation.
Then I heard him bragging to his friends: "She'd save her first time for me. Hell, she'd still be thinking of me on her wedding night."
The bullying was staged. The kiss meant nothing. He just wanted me gone—so his new girl could feel more comfortable.
He thought I'd beg. He thought I'd cry. He thought I'd never actually leave.
I left the country.
And ran straight into his stepbrother.
Bury Me in His Regret
The kidnapper pressed the gun to my temple and asked, "Choose your wife or your sister-in-law?"
Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.
He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.
Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.
When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.
"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."
After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Accardi
“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
