Introduction

Three months ago, my life changed for the worst. I caught my boyfriend in bed with another woman and Instead of apologising, he told me I won't find another man better than him.

I took it personally and decided to make him choke on that.

So I made a deal with the one man guaranteed to prove him wrong~ His hockey captain, his idol, and the most dangerously confident man I've ever met.

Reid Williams.

The last man I should be making deals with.

He'll pretend to be mine to make my ex regret everything...

In return, I'll help him fix the reputation that's one bad headline away from destroying his entire career.

It's supposed to be simple, controlled, fake.

But Reid doesn't leave things halfway.

Nothing about the way he looks at me seems fake, nothing about the way his hand settles on my waist like it's a claim, nothing about the way his lips linger after a kiss.

And everytime I remember this is just a deal... He gives me a reason to forget.

Chapter 1

If I had known that today would be the day I caught my boyfriend cheating on me, I would have grabbed a baseball bat while driving over to his house.

“Glinda, shouldn’t you be asleep?” My mum asks, walking into my bedroom.

She's carrying a pile of envelopes.

“Mum, you need to knock before entering.”

“Nonsense, I’m your mother and why are you still up?”

“I haven’t heard from Danny since yesterday. He dropped his parents at the airport and I’ve been trying to call him but he’s not picking up, I’m worried.”

She lifts her wrist and glances at her watch.

“Have you seen the time, it’s almost ten thirty… you know you have a curfew?”

“I’ll be quick, I’ll just drive to his house and come back quickly.”

“You’ve got some mail,” She says tossing the envelopes on my bed. “Stay safe.”

~~~
I knock on the door and wait for a few second but there's no reply. When I turn the handle, it opens.
I feel like my mum, barging into people's private spaces....but Danny is my boyfriend and he's been my boyfriend since middle school, so I think I can barge in.
I walk in and I drop my purse on my couch.
“Danny!” I call as I make my way towards the stairs.
I stop dead in my tracks when I hear a sound, it sounds like someone screaming… No not screaming, moaning.
“Danny?” I take slow and shaky steps towards Danny's bedroom door. My heart is beating so fast I’m afraid it would punch a hole through my chest.
I must be hearing things. That’s the only explanation.
My palm wraps around the cool metal of the doorknob and I twist.
“Yes, right there…” a girl screams as Danny pounds into her from behind. Her ass is in the air and his hands are wrapped on either sides of her waist.
“I’m going to cum all over this fat ass.” Danny grunts as he pumps his hips.
“No.” I choke out and both their heads snap in my direction
My knees buckle but I catch myself quickly.
“Fuck shit… fuck fuck.” he mutters
Danny pulls away from the girl and rushes towards me. The tears blur my vision and I can no longer breathe.
“Glinda, it’s not what it looks like.”
“Get your hands off me.” I slap his hand away but it quickly returns.
“Glinda, I swear I can explain.”
I stand on trembling legs and I turn to the girl, she’s staring at me with an expression that looks like confusion and distress.
“He swore he didn’t have a girlfriend.” She says to me as she reaches for her clothes
Her hair is as wild as his and they’re both flushed and sweating. How could he do this to me?
“Glinda, it was a mistake.”
“After all these years.” I cry
“I was… I was drunk.”
“How long have you been cheating on me?”
“This doesn’t count as cheating, I told you I was drunk. I’m drunk right now.”
I turn around and rush down the stairs two at a time. My entire world is crashing over and I feel like I’m going to puke.
“Glinda wait, you know I can’t chase you outside like this. I’m naked!”
My shoulders shake uncontrollably as I reach the door.
“Glinda please, I’m begging you… people make mistakes. Just listen to me for a second.”
I jump into my car and I drive as fast as I can.
I don’t remember turning and winding through the lanes that lead to my house but I’m here, in my drive way.
I run into the house and I bump into someone.
“Glinda, wait what’s wrong?”
“Dad…” I choke out as I wrap my hands around him
“What’s the matter sweetheart, why are you crying?”
“It’s Danny,”
I hug him as tight as I can, but no matter how tight he hugs me back, it can’t stop my chest from caving in.
“What did he do?”
~~~

I wake up to twelve missed calls and a thousand text messages from Danny and the last one says.

“You left your purse, I’ll come over to drop it off and we will talk. I can’t lose you.”

He added a heart emoji. He added a fucking heart emoji.

I look up at the ceiling and wonder how my life would go on from here. I’ve been with Danny so long that I never had to worry about living without him.

We became quick friends and then we took it a step further and since then, all I’ve ever known was him. He was my entire fucking world.

We planned our life together, were going to the same college together… We were supposed to graduate together.

The door opens and my mum peeks her head in.

“Hey honey, breakfast is ready.”

“Is it possible to change colleges?”

“Grathford is an amazing university, Glinda.”

“I can’t stand seeing him… four years is too much mum.”

“I’m sorry Glinda, but it’s too late to change schools now.”

I roll over in my bed.

“I’m not hungry.”

“I’ll come back. Maybe you’ll change your mind.”

An hour has passed, maybe two.

But things keep getting worse.

My door opens again and I sigh.

“Mum, I really don’t want the disturbance right now.”

“Glinda, it’s me.”

I turn around sharply

“How did you get here?”

“I drove…”

“How did you get into my house!”

“Oh, the housekeeper let me in.”

He’s clutching my purse in his hands and looking like a puppy that just got caught stealing.

“Baby, we need to talk.”

“I’m not willing to talk, Danny. There’s nothing to talk about.”

“I’m sorry, okay? I fucked up, I made a mistake.”

“It’s over between us.”

“You don’t mean that.”

He says throwing my purse on my bed, the thing comes swinging at me and it almost lands on my head.

“Get out!”

“I said I made a mistake!” He balls his fist and stomps hard on the ground.

“Get out, now or I’ll call security.” I clutch my blanket hard.

Danny has always been hotheaded but he’d never looked this… threatening. My fingers are starting to tremble, he looks like he's about to punch me.

“Look, you will be nothing without me. You don’t have any friends, you’ll be lost in college with no one to talk to, you’ll be lonely.”

“I’ll be fine.”

He scoffs

“This is so fucking unbelievable.” He says, sweeping his fingers through his hair. “Do you think you would ever find anyone as good as me?”

“What?”

“You heard me,” he says with a smirk “I’m doing you a favor by being with you and you let that get into your head. I’m too fucking good for you and you know it. So I know one thing, you’ll come begging me. You’ll come crawling on your knees, begging me to take you back. Just watch and see.”

I can’t believe my ears.

My mouth hangs open in shock.

“No one wants you anyway.”

"You want my forgiveness?" he asked, my voice dropping to a dangerous timbre.

Before I could answer, he moved closer, suddenly looming over me, his face inches from mine. I felt my breath caught, my lips parting in surprise.

"Then this is the price for speaking ill of me to others," he murmured, nipping my lower lip before claiming my mouth in a real kiss. It began as punishment but quickly transformed into something else entirely as I responded, my initial rigidity melting into compliance, then active participation.

My breathing accelerated, small sounds escaping my throat as he explored my body. His touches were both punishment and pleasure, drawing shudders from me that I thought he felt reverberating through his own body.

My nightgown had ridden up, his hands discovering more of mine with each caress. We were both lost in sensation, rational thought receding with each passing second...

Dear readers, this novel is coming to an end soon. I highly recommend another fantastic story of the same genre:

I’d appreciate all your support, thank you so much!
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.

On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...

Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.

George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.

His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

"Your Majesty... I beg—" He shoved me onto the bed. Silk tore with a sharp rip, cold air rushing over my exposed body.

"Scared?" He smirked, palm sliding down my waist, fingers tracing slow, burning circles. "Yet you shiver... not from cold."

I lunged for the candlestick, but he caught my wrist, pinning it overhead. His knee forced my legs apart.

"When your father gave you to me," his lips brushed my ear, voice a dark rumble, "you were already mine."

I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.

I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
