I Hooked Up With A Hockey Player

Introduction
One minute, I’m at a party I didn’t want to attend, trying to avoid the Hockey House. The next, Danny Glover—my ex, the team captain, and the guy who shattered me—is pinning me against a wall to save me from his drunk teammate.
I should have pushed him away. I should have run. Instead, I grabbed his shirt and whispered, "Quick! Kiss me!" to hide from prying eyes. But Danny didn’t just pretend. He slammed his lips against mine, devouring me like he’d been starving for three years.
My brain screamed danger, but my body betrayed me instantly. We ended up in his room, raw desire erasing every bit of common sense. I swore I wouldn’t do anything with hockey players, yet there I was, writhe beneath him, realizing I was still addicted to the one man I hated most.
Two days later, I walked into my professor’s office, ready to forget my mistake. But there he was. "You'll be working with Danny Glover for your dissertation," Dr. Jenna said. My life is officially over.
Chapter 1
Vanessa's Pov
I would rather die than have to associate myself with anything related to hockey. It's not because a hockey player broke my heart. It's because my father was one and when I was born, he left to get milk and you know how the story goes.
However, I don't care about any of that. All I want is to fill my grad school application on sports psychology and get my certificate.
I clutched my notebooks close to my chest like the freshmen would and walked to Dr Jenna's office. I arrived at her office, Jennifer Han Ph.D. staring back at me in bold letters. My name will be up there soon.
I tapped my fist on the door in a silent knock and a stern “come in” replied to me.
I exhaled softly and clutched the door knob, pushing in the door and entering.
The office I stood in was as prestigious as the owner — polished, clean, and filled with awards and medals. Dr. Jenna wasn't just any professor. She was my inspiration. The forty year old Asian was everything I wanted to be. From her Ph.D. in sports psychology to the countless papers she's published, to her experience with athletes, she's my biggest idol. You can say she's my celebrity crush in the nerdiest kind of way. And she's also my grad school advisor. Working under her wing has been the best experience I'd ever had.
“Yes, ma'am. You called?” I couldn't stop beaming. I see this woman everyday but it still feels like I'm meeting her for the first time. She's a living legend.
“Yes, Vanessa,” she looked up from her computer and leaned against her chair. “I've got some news.”
Earlier, I'd told her I was finding it difficult choosing what to do for my grad school application and she had told me she would help.
I took a seat she offered and smiled. “So?”
She passed me the application with a grin.
I took the paper and stared at it. Suddenly, all the air whooshed from the room.
No. You've gotta be kidding me.
“Hockey?” I asked with a squeal.
“Yes.” She nods with a smile.
I blinked, wanting to understand what she'd just told me. “Hockey? You want me to do my grad school application on hockey?”
“I believe I made that clear before.” She said, resuming her typing or whatever she was doing on her computer before I got here.
It was at this moment that I finally understood the saying : never meet your heroes. I now know why.
“But why hockey?” I winced. “Why not football or swimming.”
I hated swimming the same way I hated smoking but I'd choose swimming over Hockey any day.
Dr. Jenna regarded me with a frown. “I won't approve anything else, Vanessa. It's either hockey or you lose your spot as my advisee. The choice is yours.”
I gasped. Tell me she did not threaten my position.
“But —”
“No buts. I have students who will kill to be in your position. You're privileged to be here, do you know that?” She asked.
I nearly countered her statement. I had a 5.0 GPA and killer reference letters. Not to mention that I was valedictorian. But no words that come out of my mouth would convince this woman not when she set her mind to something.
“Get me your complete proposal by Friday or forfeit your spot, Vanessa.” She dismissed me with a languid wave.
“Thank you, ma'am.” I said through gritted teeth as I exited the office.
I've successfully avoided anything hockey for the past three years only for the universe to give me a big FUCK YOU and send it to be my front and center again.
“Fucking hell,” I dragged my hand through my hair.
“Excuse me. Coming through.” A voice said and I stepped back to avoid an incoming banner.
My eyes dropped to the colorful banner Gary carried and my anger tripled.
“Handsome, isn't he?” Gary, the janitor said as he dropped the banner to the floor.
I ignored his question and clenched my book so tight it cut my palm. On the banner was the perfect image of golden brown hair, mismatched eyes, and Thunder Hockey uniform — Danny Glover.
I've made a few mistakes since I got into college and Danny Glover was one of them. After dad left, I hated everything about hockey. I made sure to get rid of everything about hockey and even convinced my little twin brothers to hate the sport. But when I met Danny, everything changed. I was beginning to like the sport and the player. Now? I realize he's the same asshole as dad. Every hockey player is.
I heaved a sigh and walked to the apartment I shared with my best friend.
The second I opened the door, Bean was coming right out.
“Hey, you.” she beamed at me.
When I didn't reply, she pulled me into the apartment and closed the door.
“Was it that bad?” She asked, sitting next to me on the couch.
“Yup,” I tossed my bag to the floor. “Jenna wants me to do hockey.”
“But you hate hockey.” She sighed.
“Jenna doesn't know that.” I pinched the skin between my eyes.
Bean strokes my hair. “It'll be okay.”
“I hope so.”
Benedicta or Bean as we all call her, had been my roommate since sophomore year and bestfriend since highschool. Unlike me who's living on a scholarship, her parents are loaded and bought her this apartment when she both got into college. She found out I was living in the school dorms and convinced my mom to let us live together. I'm glad mom agreed because Bean is the best. We're both the same age but she acts like she's older. She knows what to say and when to say it. Sometimes, I tell myself I don't deserve her.
She lets go of me and walks to the fridge. “ juice?”
“You know me too well.” I smiled. I regarded her outfit with narrowed eyes. She was wearing a mini black dress that stopped at her midthigh. October's weather is being a bitch so she wore a black hose underneath the dress and a purple jacket.
When she passed me the glass, I asked. “And where are you heading to?”
“Oh, Marco's party.” She smiled.
Marco is her boyfriend who's a hockey player and he's celebrating his birthday today.
“Oh,” I try not to sound stern. “Tell him I said happy birthday.”
“You're not coming?” She asked me like she's been doing for the past 3 years and as usual, I told her no but…
“You just got your heart broken by your celebrity crush and you can't stay cooped up in this house. Knowing you, you'll probably watch the Titanic and cry all over my pillow.” Bean sighed.
She's right. That was my plan.
“Come on. Screw the hockey players there. You're here to have fun.” She smiled.
I thought about it for a second before I nodded. “Yup.”
“Let's fuck this up!” Bean yelled.
I hope we don't.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."

I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The War God Alpha's Arranged Bride
Yet Alexander made his decision clear to the world: “Evelyn is the only woman I will ever marry.”
Falling for my boyfriend's Navy brother
"What is wrong with me?
Why does being near him make my skin feel too tight, like I’m wearing a sweater two sizes too small?
It’s just newness, I tell myself firmly.
He’s my boyfirend’s brother.
This is Tyler’s family.
I’m not going to let one cold stare undo that.

As a ballet dancer, My life looks perfect—scholarship, starring role, sweet boyfriend Tyler. Until Tyler shows his true colors and his older brother, Asher, comes home.
Asher is a Navy veteran with battle scars and zero patience. He calls me "princess" like it's an insult. I can't stand him.
When My ankle injury forces her to recover at the family lake house, I‘m stuck with both brothers. What starts as mutual hatred slowly turns into something forbidden.
I'm falling for my boyfriend's brother.

I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.
And still—
Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.
I’m not here to rescue anyone.
Especially not her.
Especially not someone like her.
She’s not my problem.
And I’ll make damn sure she never becomes one.
But when my eyes fell on her lips, I wanted her to be mine.
Invisible To Her Bully
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate
My drunk stepfather remained indifferent, his weight suffocating, making it hard to breathe as my heart raced.
Suddenly, the door slammed open, and two figures burst in.
"Get off her!" a deafening roar echoed.
I didn't expect the twin brothers who'd bullied me at school to come charging in like gods to save me.
After my grandmother passed, I had to move in with my mom and stepdad, who treated me like a servant. I prayed every day for my 18th birthday to come, so l could leave and escape this broken home.
However, on my first day at my new school, l encountered the legendary twins everyone feared.
To make matters worse, the Moon Goddess revealed they were both my mates!
After helping me out with my stepdad, my twin mate cornered me, played with my hair, and whispered possessively, "You belong to us, our little mate..."
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
