Introduction

"Is there a reason why I shouldn't fuck your brains out right now?" he ask and I shudder.
"Nnn... Nooo! I don't have a reason," I stutter.
"Good! I am about to forget you are my princess and fuck you like a slut," he promises as he fucks me.
"I am a slut, only for you," I murmur.

I have always had a crush on my dad's best friend but Jack never saw me as a woman and rather he always referred to me as a child and treated me just like one. Just that, something ws soff in the eau he looked at me and spoke to me from time to time. I could feel the need in his voice and fire in his eyes.

So when my parents had to leave for some days and he was asked to take care of me I knew that was the only chance I will ever get at making my feelings known to him and to know whether or not what I saw was real ot if I wasn't Hallucinating. The first few nights were tough and he kept off saying I was off limits to him, but what if I am not and he is only trying to send me away bechause of the lady I saw him kissing the other night?

Chapter 1

Hey guys, welcome to my amazing book. But first, I will drop this sweetener to get you comfortable. The main book Is directly after this. Enjoy.

GEMMA

I can’t believe I’m actually doing this! I’m laughing like a crazy person as I follow the zigzagging pattern of the mountain road on the way to my parents’ cabin. It’s been several months since we used it, and I need to get there in enough time to spruce things up a bit before Erik arrives.

He’s the man I’m completely in love with. I’ve been saving everything for him, and I finally turned 18 last month. I’m sick and tired of waiting.

This weekend I’m going to make him mine.

There’s just one problem—he’s my dad’s best friend.

I know I can make him fall in love with me, though. I just need to get him alone. He needs to see me on my own, away from my parents. He needs to see me as a woman. His woman.

I may have had to tell a small lie to get this to happen, but I’m sure he’ll understand why I had to do it. He thinks we’re all coming out here to spend the weekend at my parents’ cabin. What he’s really going to get is just me and him all alone for three days. Just imagining the shocked look on his gorgeous face has me smiling. He’s not going to know what hit him.

I’m not worried about him being able to handle himself out here. Erik is from Norway, so I know he’s used to harsher conditions than this. It helps that he’s built like a Norse god, I think with a grin, or a sexy Viking warrior.

I pull up to the small log cabin and step out, breathing in the fresh air. I take a second to admire the view, letting my eyes scan over the pine trees and large snow-covered mountain in the distance. There isn’t any snow on the ground here yet, but if my weather app is correct, it’s on its way.

Just the idea of being trapped in this cabin with sexy Erik has me grinning like an idiot while I start to unload my car. I made sure to buy plenty of groceries, and my dad always keeps a bunch of firewood stacked up and ready to go. We should be all set. The best part is that cell reception sucks out here, so he won’t be able to call my dad to tell him what I’ve done.

I’m going to have to do my damnedest to make sure that when we leave here in a couple of days, we do it together. Hopefully, with me so sore from all the fucking we’re going to be doing that I can barely walk to the car. A girl can dream, right?

After lugging in all the supplies and putting everything away, I start to air out the place. It’s not a luxurious cabin by any stretch of the imagination, but I’ve always loved it. My parents did splurge a few years back and get a hot tub for the back deck, and I plan on putting that to good use this weekend, but the cabin itself is more rustic cozy with braided rugs and a big fireplace and a ridiculously comfortable plaid couch. There’s two bedrooms with simple, wooden furniture and down comforters and a fullsize bathroom.

It’s the giant window overlooking the mountain that makes me really love this place, though. I’ve spent so many hours sitting on the window seat, looking out that very window. It always takes my breath away. Erik has the same effect on me. No matter how many times I’ve seen him, it’s always a jolt to the system.

When I hear the crunch of tires on gravel, I let out an excited squeal and run to the door. He parks his black truck next to my car, and before he’s barely out of it, I’m running into his arms. Laughing, he wraps me in a tight hug, and I have to bite my lip to keep from groaning at how good he feels. The scent of his cologne is as familiar to me as he is, and I wish I could keep standing here wrapped in his arms.

He gently pulls away when I’m still clinging to him long after it’s considered appropriate and steps back, giving me a big grin.

“Looks like we’re the first ones here.”

He’s been living in America since before I was born, but I can still hear his Norwegian accent, and it gets me every time.

“Yeah, looks like,” I say because I can’t bring myself to tell him the truth just yet.

His eyes are the most beautiful shade of blue, and mixed with his blonde hair and powerful body, he’s nothing short of stunning. He hasn’t shaved in a few days, giving him a nice stubble, and the dark sweater he’s wearing is just accentuating his broad shoulders and killer biceps. I’d just been pressed up against that hard body, so I know exactly how amazing it feels. I’ve seen him without his shirt before, and it’s an image that’s seared into my brain and constantly being remembered when I touch myself. I can’t wait to see it again. All of him this time, though.

Before he can ask me any more questions, I say, “I’ll help you get your bags.”

He only has one bag for himself, but he did bring a few boxes of food and extra supplies, so I help him bring all that in and start putting the groceries up while he sets his bag down by the couch.

“I guess I’ll go ahead and get a fire started while we wait for your parents.”

“Sounds good,” I say with a smile.

While he’s outside getting firewood, I quickly grab two steaks and put them in a container with a marinating sauce before shoving them to the back of the fridge. I can’t have him wondering why I haven’t bothered to set out food for two more, now can I?

My parents raised me for twenty-four years. Then they found out I wasn't their biological daughter.

Their real daughter came home. She'd only been back two years. That's all it took to erase twenty-four.

When kidnappers grabbed us, I used my body as a shield. They beat me until something inside me ruptured. I was dying from internal bleeding, but no one could tell.

My parents wouldn't even look at me. "This is your fault! None of this would've happened if it weren't for you!"

"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."

They threw her a party at a downtown hotel while I died alone in my room.

I thought they'd be relieved. Maybe even glad. I thought they'd just move on like I never existed.

But when they finally learned the truth, they fell apart.

My husband, Zachary, chose to save his sister-in-law right in front of the kidnappers.

The kidnapper pressed the gun to my temple and asked, "Choose your wife or your sister-in-law?"

Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.

He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.

Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.

When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.

"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."

When my parents forced me to donate my organs to my sister, I didn't refuse or run away. I just quietly signed the surgical consent forms, willingly giving my kidney to Vivienne, their beloved daughter.

A few months ago, my sister was hospitalized with kidney failure. The doctor said she needed a transplant. My family's first thought was me—the backup daughter they'd kept around all these years.

When my husband Allen took my hand with tears in his eyes and said, "Only you can save her," I agreed without hesitation.

When the doctor explained the surgical risks and potential complications, I smiled and nodded my understanding.

My parents said I'd finally learned what sisterly love meant.

Even Allen, who'd always been cold to me, held my hand gently and said, "The surgery's safe. You're so healthy, nothing will go wrong. When you recover, I'll take you to Hawaii."

But they don't know that no matter how the surgery goes, I won't be around to celebrate.

Because I just got my own test results—I have terminal brain cancer. I'm going to die anyway.

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.

When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"

George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"

"I'm afraid that's impossible."

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.
