One Bizarre Dream Later, They All Call Me a Lunatic

Day one coming back, a bit of hair was missing.

Day two coming back, one hand was gone.

Day three coming back, half the body had disappeared.

I suddenly woke up with a start and realized it was just a dream, thank goodness.

Then my daughter came home, with a patch of her hair missing.

Taking my child from the kindergarten teacher's hands, mine were still shaking.

There was clearly a patch of hair missing from the back of Lily's head.

I grabbed the teacher's hand and said urgently, "Teacher, why is there a patch of Lily's hair missing?!"

The female teacher turned around impatiently and casually glanced at Lily's head.

"What missing hair? It's perfectly fine."

What?

I froze for a moment and looked at the back of Lily's head - there was clearly a patch of hair missing.

I pointed at that spot of scalp and explained, "Right here!"

The teacher gave me a bit more of her attention, looked up and down, then stared at me with hidden anger in her eyes.

"Rachel, nothing is missing. I've seen plenty of parents like you who make trouble out of nothing. Teachers are busy too!"

How could that be? The hair was clearly missing.

I wanted to argue, but the school bus driver was already getting impatient, honking the horn repeatedly.

The teacher shook off my hand, leaving me with nothing but a face full of exhaust fumes.

I turned back to look at my daughter. Lily looked at me with confusion too.

"Lily, did anything strange happen at school?"

I asked my daughter tentatively.

Lily looked at me blankly, just shook her head and said she was tired and didn't want to talk.

I pressed her about the hair, but she said she didn't know anything.

I pushed down my doubts and took my daughter back to the villa first.

The moment we walked in the front door, my husband Ethan Moore came home right behind us.

As soon as Lily saw Ethan, she suddenly became very excited, and Ethan warmly caught our daughter.

After spinning Lily around once, Ethan suddenly cried out in alarm the next second and looked up to question me.

"Rachel, how are you taking care of our daughter! Lily has a huge gash on her head and you can't even see it?"

I stood frozen in place, my hand holding a plate stopped mid-motion, and I turned to look at where Ethan was pointing.

There really was a wound on Lily's head, the blood had already dried - right where I had seen the missing hair.

How could this be? Just a moment ago it was only missing some hair!

Two streams of tears fell down Lily's cheeks. My daughter looked at me with hurt in her eyes and burst into tears.

Ethan held our daughter tight with heartache. Lily curled up in his arms crying.

In an instant, I seemed to have become the biggest criminal.

As if all these strange things were caused by me. I even wondered if I had some kind of mental illness.

"That's impossible, I clearly just saw some missing hair!"

I helplessly hoped Ethan would listen to me.

But Ethan wouldn't listen to my explanation at all, and said with bitter resentment.

"Rachel, I know you've always wanted to divorce me, and I'll make it happen."

"But you don't need to lie about the child. Lily is only five years old!"

I shook my head in denial and tried to step forward to talk to Lily.

The moment I touched Lily, she shrank back into Ethan's arms in terror.

What on earth was going on?

My husband, my daughter - they both treated me like an enemy.
