Introduction
Brilliant, composed, and impossible to intimidate, Solène has made a career out of breaking apart carefully constructed facades to expose the truth underneath and Zane Ashford may be the most dangerous man she has ever faced. Beneath his arrogance lies grief sharp enough to ruin anyone who gets too close.
Their sessions become a battlefield of sharp words, buried trauma, and undeniable attraction. Every confrontation drags them deeper into each other’s darkness until the line between hatred and desire begins to disappear. But Zane’s fame, secrets, and self-destruction threaten to consume them both.
As obsession ignites and emotional walls collapse, Zane and Solène must decide whether love can survive two people determined to destroy themselves first.
Scorched Glory is an intense, emotionally charged sports romance about redemption, vulnerability, obsession, and the terrifying cost of being truly seen.
Chapter 1
The hit happened at 11:47 on a Tuesday morning, which was the kind of precise detail that would later make Zane’s attorneys very uncomfortable. Everyone saw it and that was a problem.
There were forty-three people on the Vanguard practice field when Zane Ashford crossed the white chalk line separating the offensive zone from the rest of the known universe, drove his right fist into the jaw of cornerback DeShawn Briggs, and fractured it in two places with the kind of surgical efficiency that belonged in an operating theatre, not a football field.
There were cameras from three different angles. Two team videographers. One journalist from ESPN who had been cleared for that exact session to document the Vanguard’s “culture of brotherhood.”
The irony would have been funny if the crunch hadn’t been quite so loud. Zane didn’t run or apologize. He just stood over DeShawn’s crumpled body with his chest heaving and his fists still knotted at his sides, the kind of stillness that looked, to everyone watching, like a man deciding whether he was finished. He was finished but no one in that stadium could have told you that from looking at his face.
The locker room smelled like eucalyptus and expensive shame. Head Coach Darnell Pruitt had been in professional football for twenty-eight years. He had managed four Pro Bowl meltdowns, two DUI press conferences, one player who had tried to smuggle an emotional support alligator onto a team flight, and a quarterback who had live-streamed his own contract negotiation from the team bus. He believed, genuinely, that he had seen everything.
He had not seen Zane Ashford sit in the center of a locker room bench with his bloodied knuckles resting on his thighs, completely calm, and stare at a spot on the floor as if the floor owed him an explanation. Pruitt pulled a chair across the tile. The scrape was enormous in the silence.
“Talk to me, Z.”
He said nothing, except that stare.
“I need something from you right now. Anything.”
Zane’s jaw moved once like he was testing the hinges.
“He said Marcus’s name.”
Pruitt went very still.
“During a route drill. In front of the whole offense. He said”
He stopped. His nostrils flared. Something moved behind his eyes that Pruitt had learned, over six years of coaching this man, to treat like a weather warning.
“He made it a joke.”
Pruitt said nothing for a long time. Outside, he could hear the practice field being cleared, equipment being packed, the controlled panic of a franchise trying to get ahead of a story that had already left the station.
“That doesn’t make it okay, Zane.”
“I know.”
“You broke his jaw.”
“I know.”
“In two places.”
Zane finally looked up. His eyes were dry. That was somehow worse than if they hadn’t been.
“Coach. I know.”
Drayden Cole’s office on the thirty-second floor of the Vanguard Tower did not look like a room where deals were made. It looked like a room where deals were executed.
There were mahogany panels. A view of Phoenix that at dusk looked genuinely apocalyptic. A glass case containing a Super Bowl ring from 2019 that Drayden had not personally earned but displayed with the confidence of a man who had paid enough for it to feel equivalent. He was sixty-one, silver-haired, and had the precise warmth of a man who had spent four decades perfecting warmth as a tool.
He poured two fingers of bourbon into a crystal glass, did not pour one for Zane, and sat on the edge of his desk the way powerful men did when they wanted to signal they were having a casual conversation.
“You understand the position this puts us in.”
It was not a question.
“Mr. Cole”
“Forty-eight million dollars, Zane. That’s what your contract extension says. That’s what the board approved in March. That’s what the press release called ‘a historic investment in the future of the franchise.’”
Zane said nothing.
“DeShawn Briggs has a lawyer who is currently on a plane from New York. The NFL’s conduct committee has requested our cooperation by end of business Thursday. ESPN is running the clip”
Cole tilted his head then let out a small smile. The kind that never reached anywhere useful.
“Then you’re aware that we need to protect the asset.”
Zane looked confused, “The asset.”
“You. The team. The season. The contract. Everyone in this building, Zane. Everyone who depends on Vanguard being a franchise that people trust.”
Zane stood up. He was six-foot-two and in the physical condition of a man who treated his body like a military operation, and when he stood in Drayden Cole’s expensive office something shifted in the room’s geometry.
“What do you want from me?” Zane asked while standing.
Cole set down his bourbon. He then took a card from the inside pocket of his jacket and placed it on the desk between them.
“The league has a performance and conduct rehabilitation program. Voluntary, technically. For you it is not voluntary. Twelve sessions, minimum. Full compliance. Full transparency.”
Zane looked at the card without touching it.
“The psychologist is exceptional. Specialist in high-performance trauma. She has worked with three Olympic programs and two Premier League clubs. She is” Cole continued.
“No.” Zane said
Cole blinked. That was a rare event.
“I don’t need a therapist, Drayden. I need DeShawn Briggs to understand that some names are not punchlines.”
“And I need you on that field in September.”
The city glittered thirty-two floors below like it didn’t know any of this was happening.
“Refuse, and the board suspends you pending review. Full suspension. No pay. No field. No season.”

To protect what’s mine
Vengeance of the Forsaken Luna
"Bella." Ethan's tone shifted, taking on that warning edge I knew too well. "Faye is vulnerable right now. She's terrified you'll resent her, that this will divide the pack. The last thing she wants is for this baby to come between us."
"Then you shouldn't have done it." I met his eyes squarely, letting him see the ice in mine. "Go back to your son."
"For fuck's sake." He dragged a hand through his hair. "How many times—it was artificial insemination. They used my sperm, yes, but Faye and I never—"
Bella let out a cold snort. Such brazen lies. Her mate had an affair with his brother's partner, and his entire family helped force her out with nothing, all to make way for the mistress to take her rightful position. Poor fool—he thought she was just an unwanted adopted daughter, easy to dismiss and control. He never knew the computer genius he'd been searching for was his own Luna.
Since he'd tainted himself, Bella was done. She rejected him and reclaimed what was hers, rising to the top with help from Victor, who'd been secretly in love with her for years.
When Ethan tried winning her back: "You don't want our child growing up fatherless."
Bella smiled mockingly. "The child's father isn't you."
The Contract Wife: Marriage Of Malice
He didn't finish. He didn't need to.
I didn't tell him to stop.
Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
Ella never imagined she would marry the man she had secretly loved for years in such a way.
When her brother Theo faced twenty-five years in prison for massive embezzlement, the ruthless business tycoon James Lancaster offered her a deal: marry him in exchange for her brother's freedom.
This wasn't a fairy tale proposal, but a carefully orchestrated revenge. Because in James's heart, Ella was the culprit who had killed his sister Cecilia. He wanted her to pay the price—to atone with a lifetime of suffering.

Most of all, I didn’t know the supernatural walked among us, hiding in the cracks of ordinary life. Not until Abel Stone stepped into mine—dark-eyed, sharp-tongued, and oozing dangerous promises. He’s my new boss. He shouldn’t make my skin tingle or my pulse race. I shouldn’t feel this primal pull, this illogical recognition that tugs at something deep in my bones.
Around him, lights burst, electronics fry, and something ancient in me awakens.
Kane feels it. His grip tightens, punishments turn brutal, and he hides the truth of what I am.
Trapped between two powerful men, I’m no prey, no pawn—no helpless victim.
Prisons burn. Monsters bleed. As for me? I'm the storm in skin—deadly beyond suspicion.

Mates: Regrets and Redemption
With my heart in pieces, I sought solace in the last place I expected—my Alpha's arms. One night turned into a dangerous entanglement, and now my Alpha refuses to let me go. As the Alpha’s obsession grows, I'm caught in a web of desire and fear.

“There are no limits between us,” he chuckled, the mirth sparkling in his gorgeous eyes. “And all of this stems from the night you gave me both pain and pleasure. I’m simply returning the favor.”
He took two steps forward, and I stepped back. “But…” The memory of what I had done filled me with fear, and I knew I had to get out of there. “I…”
“No, Firecat.” He placed an index finger on my lips. “This will take your mind off that son of a bitch.” His strong hands pulled me by the waist until I felt his hard manhood.

Before I could answer, he moved closer, suddenly looming over me, his face inches from mine. I felt my breath caught, my lips parting in surprise.
"Then this is the price for speaking ill of me to others," he murmured, nipping my lower lip before claiming my mouth in a real kiss. It began as punishment but quickly transformed into something else entirely as I responded, my initial rigidity melting into compliance, then active participation.
My breathing accelerated, small sounds escaping my throat as he explored my body. His touches were both punishment and pleasure, drawing shudders from me that I thought he felt reverberating through his own body.
