THE LAST PROGENITOR: Rise of the Hybrid King
Cathy Labonte · Ongoing · 54.2k Words
Introduction
Noctaria, 2026. A neon-drenched metropolis ruled by the elite Draven Billionaire Dynasty. To save his dying father, Eric Vance makes a lethal deal, selling his freedom to the most dangerous woman in the city: Catherine Draven, the icy vampire heiress.
But a single night of blood changes everything.
After a double-bite from a Royal Vampire and a Mafia Alpha, Eric awakens a forbidden power: the Progenitor Bloodline. Guided by Eunice, a sentient artifact with a leveling system, Eric becomes the world’s first Hybrid. Now, he must play a deadly game of infiltration.
By day, he is Catherine’s obedient servant, caught in a toxic, soul-burning attraction. By night, he is the Shadow King, uniting the werewolf gangs to dismantle the empire from within.
With the strength of a god and a hunger for vengeance, Eric will realize that in a world of monsters, the only way to protect his own is to become the greatest monster of them all.
He was their prey. Now, he is their extinction.
Chapter 1
The monolith of Eternity Tower did not merely dominate the skyline of Noctaria; it seemed to dictate the very respiratory rhythm of the city. This fifty-story skyscraper, a marvel of dark engineering and a symbol of absolute corporate dominion, reflected the chaotic lights of the metropolis like a jagged shard of obsidian carved into the night. At the very apex, within a penthouse bathed in a clinical, bluish holographic glow, Catherine Draven reigned over her empire.
Catherine was the living icon of a modern goddess. Her porcelain skin, almost translucent under the artificial lights, contrasted sharply with her golden hair that cascaded down to her waist like a river of liquid sunlight. She exuded an aura of quiet, terrifying power, but her scarlet eyes—deep as ancient pools of blood—betrayed a heavy weariness.
"Haa… where is my future squire?"
Her angelic voice echoed through the vast office, carrying a hint of unconfessed desire that hung in the cold air. The scent of fresh roses mingled with the rich aroma of aged leather from designer furniture. Catherine sighed, the weight of solitude pressing down on her marble-like shoulders. With a disdainful gesture, she swiped through the holograms of candidates flickering across her glass interface.
"Always the same... they speak of nothing but their lineages, their connections, their unearned privileges. So incredibly boring."
She craved a spark—a soul capable of seeing past her title as a crown princess and her devastating beauty. Suddenly, two slender fangs shimmered under the neon lights as her blood-red tongue slid slowly along them with predatory precision.
"I am hungry. Is it already time?"
Her voice trembled slightly, revealing the abyssal void she felt within. She leaned back in her black executive chair, the leather creaking under her movement. The view of the teeming city below offered no comfort; it was merely a feeding ground. She pushed aside the digital files with a flick of her thumb, but one sheet remained strangely stuck to the main screen, as if refusing to be ignored.
"Hmmm? A strange CV."
Her eyes narrowed with sudden interest. The attached image showed a face with chiseled features, a wild intensity, and an almost haunting symmetry.
"Eric Vance? A familiar name…" she whispered.
The name stirred memories of the Vance family—once a noble and formidable line of warriors, now fallen and forgotten. Her fingertips clicked relentlessly on the keyboard as she twirled a lock of her golden hair around her index finger.
"So it is true... a Vance applying to serve me. Is he foolish, or simply desperate?"
A crescent-shaped smile, both beautiful and cruel, formed on her lips.
"The strongest of wolf-knights serving the highest of vampire royalty? I must see this man."
Excited, she dialed a twelve-digit security number in a millisecond.
"I have found my squire. Organize an interview for candidate 106, Eric Vance."
"V-Vance, Your Highness? Are you certain?" Wilma stammered on the other end, her voice shaking with shock.
"It is an order, Wilma!"
Catherine hung up and sprang to her feet, her divine silhouette magnified by the city lights. She raised a crystal glass filled with a dark crimson liquid, feeling anticipation thrumming through her veins.
"You will serve your princess well, Eric!"
Meanwhile, on the opposite end of this glacial luxury, in a dilapidated apartment on the outskirts of Noctaria, the world smelled of sweat and burnt coffee. The morning sun filtered through thin, yellowed curtains, casting a warm but harsh glow over modest furniture worn down by years of hardship. On the small veranda, Eric Vance was performing his morning exercise routine.
Dressed in a stained gray shirt and frayed trousers, Eric battled gravity with iron discipline.
"One, two! One, two!"
His deep voice echoed through the city's heavy air like a challenge thrown at the heavens. Below, the neighborhood "aunts" had gathered to watch him, as they did every morning.
"That Vance boy never stops..." one middle-aged woman whispered. "They say he has a shot at a job in Eternity Tower. He was nearly crying with joy last night."
Eric, his face chiseled and his gaze dark, moved into one-handed vertical push-ups, the muscles of his back rippling under the effort. At that moment, Naya, with her short white hair and long wool hooded jacket, walked past the group.
"Morning, ladies!" she called out in her bright, slightly raspy voice. Her golden eyes settled on Eric.
"Showing off as always, Eric…" she breathed, a dry smile touching her lips.
Naya caught the scent of his exertion, her alpine wolf instincts flickering, before she abruptly turned away, claiming she had family matters to attend to. On the veranda, Eric savored the burn in his muscles. He had to be ready. This afternoon’s interview was his only chance to save what was left of his family.
"Eric!"
A harsh, wheezing voice summoned him from within. Eric hurried into the modest living room, where the scent of incense drifted lazily before the framed photographs of Eunice Bathora—his mother, whose hair was as black as ebony and whose eyes held a haunting crimson depth. On the faded blue sofa sat Gilbert, his body a map of old scars, now tethered to a rhythmic, whistling oxygen machine.
"Boy! Don't just stand there staring at me! Help me clean your mother’s altar!"
Eric didn't flinch. He knew Gilbert’s gruffness was nothing more than a mask for his mounting fear. Gilbert was his stepfather, the man who had taken him in and raised him as his own out of pure, undying love for Eunice. Born to a single mother, Eric had never known his biological father; Gilbert had been the only wall standing between him and the crushing misery of Noctaria.
"Yes, Father. Let me handle it. I have the interview today. We’re going to make it through this."
He began to polish Eunice’s urn with military precision. For a brief moment, Gilbert allowed a rare, fragile smile to surface.
"Do your best, Eric. You are a Vance."
Suddenly, a violent coughing fit seized the old man, staining his handkerchief with a spray of blood. Eric froze in place, his heart tightening.
"I’m fine!" Gilbert growled, fighting for air. "I’m not dying until I see you settled with a woman worthy of the name!"
After preparing a nutritious soup for Gilbert, Eric changed into his black suit—the hard-won fruit of two years of savings. With his sides shaved and his wild black hair slicked back, he looked like a prince of the underworld.
"Pop. I’m heading out. Wish me luck."
"You don't need luck. You're my son," Gilbert replied, watching him disappear into the harsh morning light.
Once the door slammed shut, Gilbert remained alone. He slowly unhooked his machine, his silver eyes shimmering with unshed tears as he stared at Eunice’s photograph. True to his promise, he did not move from his seat. He sat there, a silent, broken guardian of a dangerous history.
"Eunice, forgive me... our son is walking straight into the lion's den. He knows nothing of his progenitor, or the real reason that man abandoned you... But I will tell him everything tonight. When he comes back."
He touched the cold surface of the urn, his hand trembling. He would wait right there for Eric’s return, praying the boy could survive his first encounter with the Draven bloodline.

To survive the mating ceremony and compete against twenty candidates, Maeve ventures into District 3, seeking a vampire to teach her the art of seduction.
Instead, she stumbles into Nikolai’s room—a Crimson vampire who bites her.
He teaches her with his own body.
“Did you catch it? My name.”
He licks her throbbing bud.
“I spelled it with my tongue.”
He claims her virginity, makes her beg, makes her shatter beneath him. She falls hopelessly in love.
Then he rejects her.
Heartbroken, Maeve attends the ceremony—only for Prince Bastian, a Lycan, to discover she’s his fated mate.
His rough hand slides to her neck, finding his enemy’s mark.
“Tell me this wasn’t consensual,” he growls, his erection hard against her.
Vampire and wolf. Ancient enemies. Both want her.
“If I take you, I won’t stop.”
“If you choose him, I will hunt him.”
But Maeve is not weak.
Because when her blood awakens, choosing one man won’t save her—it will start a war, and only one of them will survive it.

A pack of their own
How Not To Fall For A Dragon
Which is why it was more than a little confusing when a letter arrived with my name already printed on a schedule, a dorm waiting, and classes picked out as if someone knew me better than I knew myself. Everyone knows the Academy, it’s where witches sharpen their spells, shifters master their forms, and every kind of magical creature learns to control their gifts.
Everyone except me.
I don’t even know what I am. No shifting, no magic tricks, nothing. Just a girl surrounded by people who can fly, conjure fire, or heal with a touch. So I sit through classes pretending I belong, and I listen hard for any clue that might tell me what’s hidden in my blood.
The only person more curious than me is Blake Nyvas, tall, golden-eyed, and very much a Dragon. People whisper that he’s dangerous, warn me to keep my distance. But Blake seems determined to solve the mystery of me, and somehow I trust him more than anyone else.
Maybe it’s reckless. Maybe it’s dangerous.
But when everyone else looks at me like I don’t belong, Blake looks at me like I’m a riddle worth solving.
The Contract Wife: Marriage Of Malice
He didn't finish. He didn't need to.
I didn't tell him to stop.
Instead, my fingers curled into his shirt, clutching the fabric as though it was my only anchor. Something in him snapped—something he had been holding back for too long. His mouth found mine in a kiss that wasn't tender, but hungry, desperate.
I gasped into him, his hand sliding up to cup my jaw, holding me as if afraid I might vanish.
"You drive me insane," he breathed against my mouth, his lips trailing to my throat. "I can't lose you, Ella. Not you."
My head fell back, a soft sound escaping me as his fingers memorized my waist. My anger melted beneath his desperation.
"James..." I whispered, more plea than protest.
His hand caught mine, fingers threading together tightly. "I'll bring him back. I swear it. Just... don't turn away from me. Please."
The word please—low, ragged, almost broken—undid me more than anything else could have.
Ella never imagined she would marry the man she had secretly loved for years in such a way.
When her brother Theo faced twenty-five years in prison for massive embezzlement, the ruthless business tycoon James Lancaster offered her a deal: marry him in exchange for her brother's freedom.
This wasn't a fairy tale proposal, but a carefully orchestrated revenge. Because in James's heart, Ella was the culprit who had killed his sister Cecilia. He wanted her to pay the price—to atone with a lifetime of suffering.
The Alpha Who Hated Me
"Why isn't it working?" he demands.
"Because it's real," I whisper. "Whether you want it or not."
"Then I'll make it clear another way," he says.
He turns to address the entire cafeteria. His voice carries to every corner of the room.
"Let me be perfectly clear," he announces. "She's not my mate. She's not my anything. She's just a sad little girl who needs to learn her place."
The silence that follows is deafening. Hundreds of students stare at me with pity. With disgust. With relief that they're not in my position.
I sit there shaking. My wolf curls up in a corner of my mind and whimpers.
But he's not our mate anymore. He made that clear.
He's nothing to me.
She came to survive. He was born to rule. Fate made them mates. And that’s where the nightmare began.
Evangeline has spent her whole life on the edge, unwanted, unclaimed, and surviving in the shadows of Crescent Moon Pack. But when her dying uncle asks her to enroll at Blackclaw Academy, a school built on bloodlines, brutality, and unforgiving rules..... she agrees. For him, not for herself.
She expected whispers. Glares. Even cruelty.
What she didn’t expect was Ronan Nightbane.
Death By Breathing

Ruined : You will always be mine.
“Fuckkk”, I couldn’t help but scream.
“You need to learn to be obedient” he said as he kept thrusting into me. When I felt his hands on my clit my body shook.
“Asher please, it’s too much”.
“No. if I really wanted to punish you, I would give you all of me”, he said against my ears and my entire body froze. Suddenly he moved and I was standing again. This man was insane.
I felt him behind me. “Ten Lashes for your disobedience”, he said
“Asher please”,
“No”. His voice was cold and void of any emotion.
Asher was what I wanted , what I truly craved until it was too late. An orphan should never fall in love with someone out of their reach. I thought loving him was the right thing to do until he revealed his true identity and Ruined me. I was ruined for everyone one else . I could still feel his touch, it was as if it was etched into my skin. I tired to avoid him but fate wouldn't let it happen.
The Sterling's were the most powerful in Havenwood and Dorian Sterling was off limits.
As an orphan finding out you still have people looking for you is hard to take but when it turns out to be people of wealth and standing I took the other road and ran, but running led me right back to the place I was avoiding and the person I was avoiding.
Asher and Dorling Sterling one and the same. When his first love shows up and along with everyone that has set out to ruin me, I prayed that he could protect me.
BRUISED LOVE
The safe dorm.
The boring dorm.
What he got instead was Maverick Hale campus menace, underground street fighter, walking bruise factory, and the last person he ever wanted anywhere near his neat piles of textbooks.
Maverick doesn't care that he's broke.
or in arrears with his fees.
Or one wrong move away from getting kicked out.
He’ll graduate out of sheer spite—he refuses to give his estranged, homophobic father the satisfaction of calling him a failure.
He definitely doesn’t care about the determined, overachieving half-Indian nursing major he’s stuck sharing a room with…
Until Bodhi becomes the only thing keeping him in school.
His tutor.
His healer.
His undoing.
And when Maverick stumbles into their dorm one night with a knife wound and Bodhi stitches him up with shaking hands and a breaking heart…
no longer can that be denied.
Opposites weren’t supposed to collide this way.
But they did.
Hard.

The Vampire Prince's Hybrid Bride
COLD (Ruthless Player)
“Please… Nick, wait.” He pulled out, thrusted back in. “How much? Twenty thousand? Fifty? Hundred?” With every question, he thrust harder and harder. My neurons are frying with the confusing feeling in my brain. Torn between pleasure, fear, and panic. I couldn't utter a single sentence to save my life.
His cold eyes pinned me in place while he plundered my body with deep thrusts, which only added to my confusion. My dumb body mistook the mixed signals, my pussy becoming even wetter than before.
“I hope she'd paid you well, because I'm going to fuck you all night long, hard,” he growled. “Sleep, then do it all over again. I want to feel you come for me, Andrea, want to feel you squeeze my cock, milking me.
Begging for me to give you the high only I can, I'm going to fucked you until I fuck all my wife's money's worth, I want you to remember how hard I took you while you're meeting her.” I sobbed, moaned, and tried to scramble out under him.
“No, please…Nick, let….let me explain.” Nick abruptly pulled out. His eyes were cold but hooded.
Andrea was sent to take down billionaire magnate Nicklaus Montgomery.
Her mission was simple: get close, seduce him, find the proof, and disappear. Instead Andrea finds herself exposed—cornered into signing a contract that binds her to Nicklaus's side as his lover.
