Introduction
Never miss training. Keep his spot on the team. Never take anything too seriously.
He’s been managing all three just fine until one night at a bar when he walks up to a stranger to have a little fun. But something about this man piques his interest in a way nothing ever has before.
Interesting enough that Kai can’t quite get him off his head.
He doesn’t get the chance to think about it for too long because the next morning, his coach gives him an ultimatum to fix his grade. So he drags himself to a class he'd forgotten he'd even registered for.
Turns out the stranger at the bar is the same professor who gave him the F that could end his career before it even began.
Professor Lee doesn’t make exceptions.
Not for athletes. Not for excuses.
And certainly not for the reckless, sharp-tongued student who never showed up to class once.
What starts as two people who can’t stand each other slowly becomes something neither of them expected.
One has nothing left to lose.
The other has too much to risk.
When they finally stop pretending…
Will it already be too late?
Chapter 1
Kai
The girl on my screen moans loud.
Mmmm…
Fuck me, daddy…
Yes, make me cum…
Yes right there.
My hand pumps faster around my dick, slick and messy with pre-cum. The wet sound fills my room. My toes curl tight against the sheet. Sweat rolls down my neck.
“Fuck….”
I’m almost there.
Bang… bang… bang.
The sound cuts through everything. My hands freeze mid-stroke.
What the hell.
I try to ignore the loud knocking on my bedroom door.
“Kai you bastard. Open up. You have to see this.”
Of course, it’s Jamie.
My eyes open slowly.
My jaw clenches so hard.
You couldn’t wait two more fucking minutes?
The heat in my chest mixes with frustration. I wipe my sticky hand on the sheet and slam the laptop shut.
Why can’t I get a minute of peace in this house?
I already know the answer. There’s no way I can get an afternoon off with Jamie and Logan in the same house as me.
With Logan, I can cope because he only talks when it’s needed.
But Jamie...
Just thinking about him makes my head hurt.
Don’t get me wrong. He’s one of my best friends, unfortunately. The guy is annoying, loud, and somehow always involved in everybody else’s business.
But if somebody messed with him, I’d probably be the first person throwing punches.
“Hey! If this door doesn’t open in one minute I’ll assume you’re dead and I’m breaking in.”
I pull my shorts up quickly, the fabric sticking to my damp skin and walk to the door.
Jamie rushes in the second I turn the lock like he has some really great news to share.
I already know it’s not gonna be something serious.
“What is it?” I ask, standing by the door watching him move straight to the center of the room scrolling through his phone.
He lifts it and turns the screen toward me.
I glance at it.
It’s a picture of a girl and a boy with their hands interlocked. Faces not showing.
I press my lips together and exhale slowly.
“Hey… come closer,” I say. Calmly.
“Huh?” Jamie looks up.
“Come closer. I can’t see what you’re showing me.”
“Ohh okay.” He takes two steps toward me.
Perfect.
The second he’s close enough, I hook an arm around his neck.
“You bastard.”
“AH…”
I smack the top of his head repeatedly while he tries to twist free.
There are only a few days when I get a day off from work and training. And he comes bugging me because of a picture.
“Do you think I want to see another one of your hookups on my free day?”
“What do you mean hookups?” He finally breaks free and steps back gasping.
“Are you crazy?…” he tries to catch his breath. “That’s your girlfriend with another guy.”
My expression shifts.
Not sad. Just surprised.
I walk over and take the phone from him. He flinches back expecting another hit.
I look at the screen properly.
Okay. I’ll admit it. I’m a terrible boyfriend because how did I not recognize the girl I’ve been dating for four months.
Ting.
A notification from my phone on the desk.
I walk over and pick it up.
A message.
JENNIE
I’m done.
I stare at the screen.
That’s it?
After chasing me for over a year, this is how she ends it?
I don’t really care about her but damn that’s a massive bruise on my ego.
Jamie walks over and snatches the phone from me.
“Hahahahahaha.”
The sound of his laughter is like poking a needle in my ears.
“Shut the fuck up,” I say.
“I’m done? Really? After chasing you for over a year.” He says it like I asked for his comment.
“Wait…” He tries to catch his breath after laughing like a hyena. “Don’t tell me you couldn’t make her cum during sex so she had to run to someone else. Because that’s the only reason I can think of.”
“Hahahaha…..”
Now his laugh sounds even worse.
I grab his shirt, drag him out, and shut the door.
I can still hear him cackling on the other side.
So much for living with your friends.
What the hell.
Can’t make her cum?”
She’s the one who couldn’t make me cum.
I never enjoyed sex with her. Not even once. I didn’t even find her attractive.
Okay, that makes me a jerk.
With all that grabbing, legs shaking and whatnot— if she didn’t finish after all of that then she needs help. Not me.
Meanwhile, I’m stuck jerking off just to satisfy myself.
I know athletes have a reputation for being in every girl's pants here but when I’m in something I’m in it.
Not that it’s easy. Plenty of girls throw themselves at me as the captain of the football team.
Let’s just say I’m a one man's man or a one woman’s man. Only when in a relationship.
Which is exactly why I’ve been reduced to jerking off alone.
I drop flat on the bed and close my eyes.
A few days later.
Jamie is standing in the living room with his jacket already on, looking at me like I’m the cause of his problems.
“Come on. It’s Friday night. You can’t seriously be staying in.”
“I’m fine,” I say without looking up from my phone. “We have training tomorrow.”
“Kai.”
“Jamie.”
He exhales like I just told him someone died.
“We’ll get back before midnight. Come on. You just got dumped. You need to get out.”
I already know this has nothing to do with me. Jamie just wants an excuse to go out and is using me as the reason. But fine. I have nothing better to do.
The bar is loud and packed the way it always is on a Friday night.
Jamie wastes no time. Within twenty minutes he has already found himself a girl and has his tongue halfway down her throat in the corner booth.
Logan sits beside me with his drink, scrolling through his phone like he is waiting for his ride. Unbothered as always.
Two girls slide in next to us. They look pretty. I mean the kind of pretty that would have any other guy at this table losing his mind.
But I feel absolutely nothing even though one already has her hand moving slowly up my arm.
It’s always been like this. There are a lot of girls around me. Pretty ones. Funny ones. Those who laugh at everything I say and look at me like I'm some kind of prize.
I get turned on, sure. I’m just never fully into it.
I used to think my standards were just too high. Maybe the right person just hadn’t shown up yet.
But sitting here right now with a hand on my dick now and Jamie making sounds across the booth that I will never be able to unhear, I’m starting to think maybe my type just doesn’t exist.
“Hey!” Kangmin suddenly appears and slaps my arm hard enough to spill my drink.
“What the…”
He grabs my shoulder and turns me toward the bar.
“Your girl,” he says, wide-eyed. “She’s here. With him.”

Bella and Her Beast
.
Locked in her frozen tower, Bella dreamed of warmth, of touch, of freedom and of love. Cursed with the power of ice and snow, she’s spent her life alone. A secret they tried to protect the world from. Her only escape comes in the form of the books she reads. Stories of heat, desire, and the kind of love that could melt even her frostbitten heart.
Damien is the Beast. A dragon King with a temper forged in flame and a soul hollowed by duty. The world fears him. The people call him a monster. But beneath the scales and the rage lies a man who has never been touched by love.
When frost meets fire, the world shatters. She was never meant to leave her tower. He was never meant to find her. But destiny doesn’t bow to kings or care for cages and now the question burns through them both: Can Bella have her Beast? Or will the girl of snow melt in the heat of his desire?
.
"I’m keeping her."
"What?"
Before I can react, he scoops her up. Her small body fits easily in the cradle of his talons. For a split second, she looks startled, but not afraid. Her hand rests against one scaled finger, and she stares up at him with that same curious wonder, as though she’s already forgotten she was ever meant to fear me.
"Put her down," I try to command, panic threading through my thoughts. "You’ll hurt her."
"She’s ours," the beast insists, possessive and fierce. "Our snowflake."
Pawn of the Starless God
Instead, a god found me.
One moment, I was bleeding beneath the neon glow of the city, my life slipping through my fingers. The next, a glowing blue screen appeared before my eyes, offering me a choice that was never really a choice at all.
Accept the Summoner’s Mark. Or die.
Now I belong to the Death Game — a brutal cosmic system where ordinary people are turned into Players, thrown into impossible missions, and forced to survive horrors designed for the amusement of gods.
Every trial has rules.
Every monster has a weakness.
Every victory comes with a reward.
And every reward makes me less human.
My name is Nerissa Valehart, and I refuse to be anyone’s pawn.
But surviving the Game means trusting the one man everyone warns me to fear.
Veyren Ashford is ruthless, powerful, and dangerously beautiful — a veteran Player with blood on his hands and secrets in his soul. He says attachment will get me killed. He says love is a weakness the Game always punishes.
Yet when death comes for me, Veyren is the one standing between us.
In a world where gods gamble with mortal lives, monsters hunt from the shadows, and desire may be the deadliest weakness of all, I have only one goal:
Survive long enough to cross the board.
And make the Starless God regret choosing me..............
A PRINCESS IN DISGUISE; BOUND TO THE ENEMY KING
I fell to my knees, the cold marble digging into my skin. I had studied for years in the flickering candlelight, memorizing every herb and poison to pass the healer's exam. I wanted freedom. I wanted to save my mother from the servant's quarters. I placed second. I thought I had won my life back.
But the King didn't give me a badge of honor. He gave me a death sentence.
"Raven Thorne shall be wed to the King of Grok," he announced, his voice echoing in the silent hall. Princess Ellie, the woman who had tormented me for years, slapped her hands over her mouth to hide her cruel laughter. She was supposed to marry the Beast. Now, I was the lamb being sent to the slaughter in her place.
They say King Liam drinks the blood of his enemies. They say he is more monster than man. And now, I have to walk into his bedroom, wearing the Princess's silk gown, and pray he doesn't tear me apart.
I looked at the King, tears streaming down my face. "I'll do it," I whispered, my voice trembling. "But my mother must be safe."
I sold my body and soul to a monster to save her. But when the carriage door opened and I finally looked into the Beast's golden eyes, I realized the terrifying truth...
He wasn't a stranger. He was the man I met in the woods.
The Pack: Rule Number 1 - No Mates
"Let me go," I whimper, my body trembling with need. "I don't want you touching me."
I fall forward onto the bed then turn around to stare at him. The dark tattoos of Domonic's chiseled shoulders, quiver and and expand with the heave of his chest. His deep dimpled smile is full of arrogance as he reaches behind himself to lock the door.
Biting his lip, he stalks toward me, his hand going to the seam of his pants and the thickening bulge there.
"Are you sure you don't want me to touch you?" He whispers, untying the knot and slipping a hand inside. "Because I swear to God, that is all I have been wanting to do. Every single day from the moment you stepped in our bar and I smelled your perfect flavor from across the room."
New to the world of shifters, Draven is human on the run. A beautiful girl who no one could protect. Domonic is the cold Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack. A brotherhood of twelve wolves that live by twelve rules. Rules which they vowed could NEVER be broken.
Especially - Rule Number One - No Mates
When Draven meets Domonic, he knows that she is his mate, but Draven has no idea what a mate is, only that she has fallen in love with a shifter. An Alpha that will break her heart to make her leave. Promising herself, she will never forgive him, she disappears.
But she doesn’t know about the child she’s carrying or that the moment she left, Domonic decided rules were made to be broken - and now will he ever find her again? Will she forgive him?

And towards her former fiancé, Theodore, whom she had once fawned over, she remained cold, distant, and indifferent.

"I still can't believe she actually did it. Aria Hart, filing for divorce. Who saw that coming?"
"How long do we think it'll take before she comes crawling back?" Another voice joins the conversation.
"Three days," Victoria declares. "Five at most. She has no money, no skills, no family. Where's she going to go?"
When Aria Chen divorced billionaire Leon Hart, New York's elite sneered, betting she'd crawl back within days. She never did.
