Chapter 1
ELLA
I am Ella Blake. On paper, I have all the credentials of Boston's elite - daughter of Richard Blake, CEO of Blake Corporation. The reality? I spent sixteen years growing up in a small Massachusetts town, unaware of my true identity.
Five years ago, they found me. My "real" parents. They claimed what seemed impossible - I had been switched at birth with Kate, the girl they raised as their own. The golden child. Their precious firstborn.
Kate, the imposter daughter they’d doted on, kept her place, adored as ever. I was slotted in as the second Miss Blake, a label that carries zero warmth.
Nobody in this icy, over-the-top mansion gives a damn about me. Nobody, except Amy. She’s Kate’s real sister, a frail sixteen-year-old fighting leukemia, stuck in a hospital bed. Her weak smile is my only light in this family.
Everyone notices my scar first. Left cheek, jagged and ugly. Then comes my limp. Battle wounds from saving Ryan West—my fiancé—from an oncoming car.
Ryan's eyes now skim over my scar, and he finds excuses not to be seen with me in public. I keep making excuses for him, telling myself he needs time. Deep down, I know better.
The dinner with Kate tonight had been strange. Her smiles too wide, her laughter too loud. She insisted on that extra glass of wine I didn't want. Now I know why.
I was dizzy leaving the restaurant, my vision swimming. Two men appeared from nowhere outside the hotel, their grips bruising my arms as they dragged me through service corridors. I tried to scream, but my tongue felt thick, uncooperative. One pressed a cloth over my mouth. The world blurred completely.
I woke in darkness. Aromatherapy diffusers filled the air with sandalwood and amber. Classical music played softly. My head pounded as my eyes adjusted to the dim lighting of what appeared to be a VIP suite.
"What's happening?" I called out, my voice breaking from dryness.
The two men who'd abducted me stood by the door, expressions blank. Before I could demand answers, they shoved me toward the massive bed dominating the room.
I stumbled, falling onto silk sheets. "Let me go!" I scrambled backward, heart hammering against my ribs. "Who are you people? What do you want?"
That's when I noticed him - a figure lying still on the bed. I froze.
His eyes snapped open. In one fluid motion, his hand clamped around my wrist, grip unbreakable.
"Who are you?" I demanded, terror rising. "Let me go!"
"You'll know soon enough." His voice was deep, commanding. He pulled me closer, his other hand sliding behind my neck.
I fought against his grip, but he was stronger. His mouth found mine, demanding and unyielding. I bit his lip hard enough to taste blood.
He didn't stop.
What happened next blurred into fragments of sensation. His hands. His mouth. The weight of him. My own betraying responses. I hated him. I hated myself more.
Afterward, I curled against the headboard, sheets pulled tight around my body. My skin still tingled where he'd touched me. Unwanted heat lingered between my thighs.
"I'll take responsibility," he said, voice matter-of-fact.
Rage exploded through me. I grabbed the bedside lamp and hurled it at his head. "Get away from me, you psychopath!"
He dodged effortlessly, the lamp shattering against the wall. His face remained calm, unmoved by my fury.
"This was assault," I spat, scrambling off the bed, legs unsteady. "I'm calling the police."
I staggered toward the door, vision swimming. My knees buckled before I reached it. The floor rushed up to meet me as darkness claimed me again.
Time passed strangely in unconsciousness. Dreams and reality blended together until I couldn't tell what was real.
When consciousness returned, sunlight streamed through floor-to-ceiling windows. I wasn't in the hotel anymore. The room around me was spacious, decorated in muted blues and grays. My body ached everywhere, muscles screaming in protest as I pushed myself upright.
"Awake at last."
I jerked toward the voice. A man sat in a wheelchair near the window. Mid-twenties, sharp jawline, dark hair swept back from his forehead. His black suit screamed money and power. Something about his face tugged at my memory.
I quickly checked under the covers. Relief washed through me - I was fully clothed in silk pajamas that weren't mine.
"Who changed me?" I demanded.
"The housekeeper." His gaze remained steady. "I respect boundaries, contrary to what you might believe."
"Boundaries?" I laughed bitterly. "You had me kidnapped!"
"I brought my wife home. Is that a crime?"
I stared at him, certain I'd misheard. "Your what?"
"Wife." He wheeled closer, movements precise and controlled. "I paid a substantial sum for the privilege. You should thank me - the alternative was a middle-aged bald man with questionable personal habits."
"You're insane. I'm engaged to Ryan West."
"Not for long." His mouth curved slightly. "That arrangement is being dissolved as we speak."
"They can't do that. I'm twenty-one, not property to be sold!"
"Yet here we are." He stopped his wheelchair before me. "Jack Sterling. Your husband as of midnight."
"Kate did this," I whispered. "She drugged me and sold me to you."
"Your sister doesn't have that authority," he replied dismissively. "Though she certainly celebrated your departure. She lacks the qualifications to negotiate with me."
I threw back the covers, i gnoring the pain shooting through my body. "I'm leaving. Now."
"After last night's enthusiasm?" His eyebrow raised. "I must not have fulfilled my husbandly duties adequately."
"You raped me," I said, memories of last night still hazy.
"Prove it," he countered coolly. "The security cameras in that hallway were conveniently malfunctioning. It's your word against mine, Ella."
"I know what happened. I was drugged and dragged there!"
"Without evidence, such accusations are dangerous," he warned. "They constitute slander. And in Boston's legal circles, who do you think has more credibility?"
"I'm calling the police."
"Go ahead." He gestured toward a phone on the nightstand. "Though you might want to explain the injuries you inflicted first."
He unbuttoned his shirt collar, revealing angry red scratches along his neck. When he pulled the fabric lower, I saw bite marks on his shoulder.
My face burned hotter. Had I done that? The night remained a blur of confusion and unwanted pleasure.
"Fine," I conceded, looking away from the evidence of my participation. "We had sex. It means nothing. I'm not staying with you."
Jack's reply was cut short as he suddenly grimaced, fingers pressing against his temples. His wheelchair slid sideways as he doubled over, face contorted in pain.

I hate girls like her.
Entitled.
Delicate.

Still.
The image of her standing in the doorway, clutching her cardigan tighter around her narrow shoulders, trying to smile through the awkwardness, won’t leave me.
Neither does the memory of Tyler. Leaving her here without a second thought.
I shouldn’t care.
I don’t care.
It’s not my problem if Tyler’s an idiot.
It’s not my business if some spoiled little princess has to walk home in the dark.

We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.

"Fuck no."

How Not To Fall For A Dragon
Which is why it was more than a little confusing when a letter arrived with my name already printed on a schedule, a dorm waiting, and classes picked out as if someone knew me better than I knew myself. Everyone knows the Academy, it’s where witches sharpen their spells, shifters master their forms, and every kind of magical creature learns to control their gifts.
Everyone except me.
I don’t even know what I am. No shifting, no magic tricks, nothing. Just a girl surrounded by people who can fly, conjure fire, or heal with a touch. So I sit through classes pretending I belong, and I listen hard for any clue that might tell me what’s hidden in my blood.
The only person more curious than me is Blake Nyvas, tall, golden-eyed, and very much a Dragon. People whisper that he’s dangerous, warn me to keep my distance. But Blake seems determined to solve the mystery of me, and somehow I trust him more than anyone else.
Maybe it’s reckless. Maybe it’s dangerous.
But when everyone else looks at me like I don’t belong, Blake looks at me like I’m a riddle worth solving.

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

Accardi
“I thought you said you were done chasing me?” Gen mocked.
“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”
“You…” she breathed.
Genevieve loses a bet she can’t afford to pay. In a compromise, she agrees to convince any man her opponent chooses to go home with her that night. Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
