Chapter 1
The elevator hummed softly as it climbed to the top floor of Blackwood Enterprises, carrying Lily Hart toward what she hoped was a fresh start. She had spent the morning calming her nerves, adjusting the sharp lines of her cream blouse, and reminding herself that this job was her best chance to rebuild.
But now, as the numbers ticked closer to her destination, doubt crept in.
Her brother had pulled strings to get her this position. She hated favors—especially ones that came from family—but she needed this job. More than that, she needed the independence it promised.
The elevator dinged, doors sliding open to reveal the stark contrast of the top floor. Unlike the bustling lower levels, this space was silent, intimidating, and controlled. Dark wood, glass walls, and a sweeping view of the city framed an office designed for power.
And at its center, Adrian Blackwood stood like a shadow against the skyline.
He didn’t turn and he didn’t acknowledge her presence.
He simply stood, unmoving, hands in his pockets, watching the city below as if it owed him something.
Lily swallowed, stepping forward. “Mr. Blackwood?”
For a moment, silence.
Then, in a voice both deep and cutting, he said, “You’re late.”
She stiffened. She had arrived five minutes early.
“No, sir,” she said evenly. “My start time was 8 AM. It’s 7:55.”
Slowly, leisurely, he turned.
His grey eyes locked onto hers. Cold. Analytical. Predatory.
A man like Adrian Blackwood didn’t just look at people—he assessed them. Measured them. Determined their worth in seconds.
“You’re here because of your brother,” he said, his voice devoid of warmth. “Not because you earned it.”
Lily refused to flinch.
“My qualifications—”
“Mean nothing,” he interrupted. “I don’t like nepotism. I don’t like handouts. And I don’t like people wasting my time.”
Her nails dug into her palm. What an arrogant, insufferable, piece of human waste.
She exhaled. Steady. Controlled. “I’m not here for a handout, Mr. Blackwood. I’m here to work.”
His gaze flickered—something sharp and amused, like a wolf sensing prey that dared to bite back.
“We’ll see about that,” he murmured.
A sharp knock interrupted them.
The office door opened, and Veronica Langley strode in—Adrian’s longtime assistant, poised, severe, and impossibly polished. Her sharp heels clicked against the floor as she assessed Lily with quiet curiosity.
“Miss Hart’s responsibilities?” she asked smoothly.
Adrian didn’t look away from Lily.
“Menial tasks,” he said. “Paperwork. Coffee. Things that require minimal thinking.”
Lily’s jaw tightened. So, this was his game.
Make her feel worthless. Make her quit before she even started.
Veronica hesitated, then raised a perfectly arched brow. “That seems like a waste of potential, sir.”
“If she has potential, it’ll show,” Adrian replied coolly. “If not, she’ll be gone in a week.”
Lily lifted her chin. “Or maybe I’ll still be here long after you expect me to fail.”
For a split second, something flickered in his expression. Surprise? Interest?
Then, just as quickly, it was gone.
“Get to work,” he ordered.
By noon, Lily knew what this was.
A test.
Adrian wasn’t just assigning her tasks—he was setting traps.
A spreadsheet file had mysteriously “disappeared” after she submitted it. An email chain had been redirected, making it seem like she’d ignored urgent instructions. By the time Veronica fixed it, Adrian had already left a brutal note in her inbox:
"If this is your best effort, quit now"
She gritted her teeth, deleting the email.
'Not happening Blackwood'
By 2 PM, she was juggling six urgent reports, an impossible deadline, and a coffee order for a boardroom full of executives.
“Miss Hart,” Veronica called as Lily hurried past her desk. “You might want to slow down before you spill—”
Too late.
A shoulder bumped hers—one of the junior executives rushing past—and Lily’s tray tipped.
Hot coffee. White shirts. A disaster waiting to happen.
Her Instinct kicked in.
Lily twisted, shifting the weight just enough to keep the tray steady, only a few drops spilling onto her sleeve.
She let out a sigh of relief.
Veronica blinked, mildly impressed. “Not bad.”
“Was that another test?” Lily muttered, setting the tray down.
Veronica smirked. “Let’s just say…not many people survive their first day with Mr. Blackwood.”
Lily arched a brow. “And you? How do you survive?”
Veronica laughed—a low, knowing sound. “Oh, darling. I thrive.”
By 6 PM, the office was quieter now, with most employees gone. But Lily wasn’t.
Because Adrian Blackwood was still in his office, and that meant she had to be, too.
She exhaled, steeling herself before knocking.
“Come in.”
The door swung open, revealing Adrian at his desk. His jacket was off, sleeves rolled up, forearms tense as he scanned a document.
He barely looked up from the paper work on his desk.
“If you’re here to resign, spare me the speech.”
Lily crossed her arms. “And if I’m not?”
A pause.
Then, finally, he looked at her.
The tension between them thickened—a battle neither had started but both were now fully engaged in.
His eyes flickered with something unreadable.
“You’re stubborn.”
“No, I’m determined.”
“Same thing.”
Silence stretched between them.
Adrian reclined in his chair, the leather sighing beneath him as his gaze tracked her every movement. Moonlight from the floor-to-ceiling windows painted silver edges along his sharp features, turning his smile into something predatory.
"Fine," he murmured, the word curling like smoke in the space between them. His fingers steepled beneath his chin. "Let's see how long you last."
The challenge hung in the air, vibrating with unspoken history. Lily felt it like a physical touch along her spine.
She lifted her chin, meeting his gaze without flinching. The office lights caught the gold in her hair as she straightened to her full height.
"Oh, I'll last, Mr. Blackwood." Her voice was steel wrapped in silk. "Longer than you'd like. Longer than you expect."
She turned on her heel before he could see the traitorous flutter at her throat, before he could notice how her fingers trembled at her sides. The click of her heels against the marble floor marked her retreat like gunshots.
Each step away from him was a victory. Each breath she took without looking back was a triumph.
Because this had ceased to be about employment the moment he walked back into her life. This was battlefields and bloodied knuckles and silent screams in the dark.
And Lily Hart had never learned how to surrender.

Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."

He turns—and runs.

Invisible To Her Bully
My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate
My drunk stepfather remained indifferent, his weight suffocating, making it hard to breathe as my heart raced.
Suddenly, the door slammed open, and two figures burst in.
"Get off her!" a deafening roar echoed.
I didn't expect the twin brothers who'd bullied me at school to come charging in like gods to save me.
After my grandmother passed, I had to move in with my mom and stepdad, who treated me like a servant. I prayed every day for my 18th birthday to come, so l could leave and escape this broken home.
However, on my first day at my new school, l encountered the legendary twins everyone feared.
To make matters worse, the Moon Goddess revealed they were both my mates!
After helping me out with my stepdad, my twin mate cornered me, played with my hair, and whispered possessively, "You belong to us, our little mate..."
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
