Ruby · Completed · 427.7k Words
Introduction
"Adam, please..." I whimpered as his touch set my body aflame. From the bathroom to his massive bed, he claimed me relentlessly until dawn, leaving me breathless and burning with desire.
But beneath our passionate nights lurked a terrifying reality. My fairy tale marriage became a nightmare of obsession and control. He monitored my every move, threatened my unborn child, and kept me prisoner in his golden cage.
Everything changed the night he led me to his secret basement—a chamber of horrors where his own father had tortured him for five years. As I stared at the chains and shadows of his past, I finally glimpsed the broken soul behind those cold eyes.
Was this vulnerability real? Or was I falling deeper into the trap of Bay City's most dangerous predator?
Just when I thought I knew all his secrets, I discovered something that would shatter both our worlds forever...
Chapter 1
Sophie's POV
"Sophie," his deep voice carried a warmth that seemed at odds with his powerful presence. "I want you to marry my grandson. Today."
I nearly choked on my coffee. "I'm sorry, what?"
"Adam. I want you to marry Adam. I know this is sudden—"
"Mr. Foster," I cut in, my heart racing. "I don't... I've never even met your grandson."
"Adam needs someone like you." he leaned forward. "Someone pure, untainted by our world."
I shook my head, trying to make sense of this surreal conversation. Just minutes ago, I'd been thanking him for his years of financial support. Now...
"But why me? Why—"
His eyes softened. "And a chance to help someone who's lost as much as you have."
"Lost?" The word caught in my throat.
"Adam lost his parents too, Sophie. But he... he never recovered. There's a darkness in him that needs your light."
My hands trembled. "This is crazy. I can't just—"
"Please consider it, Sophie." His voice was gentle, filled with the same kindness that had led him to support my education all these years. "I wouldn't ask this of you if I didn't think it was important."
I looked at William Foster, the man who had changed my life and given me opportunities I had never dreamed possible. His eyes reflected sincere concern for his grandson. After everything he had done for me, how could I refuse?
"The ceremony will be at the courthouse in an hour."
Before I could process what was happening, I found myself being whisked away to City Hall. Everything moved in a blur - signing papers with a tall, imposing man who barely looked at me, and then...
"Remember this," Adam's first words to me came as he roughly pushed me against the wall, his green eyes blazing with cold fury. "Whatever game you're playing with my grandfather, don't think you can climb into my bed just because you have his support."
His voice made me flinch. "I-I'm not playing any games."
Something flickered in his eyes as he caught my scent, his grip on my shoulders loosening slightly. For a moment, he seemed almost dazed. Then his expression hardened again.
"Keep your mouth shut about this marriage," he snarled before storming off to confront William, leaving me trembling against the wall.
Hours later, I stood alone in the grand entrance hall of the colonial mansion on Agate Island. The driver who brought me here, Richard Parker, had departed without a word of instruction. The sound of raucous laughter and clinking glasses drifted from somewhere deeper in the house.
Following the noise, I found myself in a luxurious living room filled with young people dressed in designer clothes.
No one seemed to notice me until a tall man in a garish Hawaiian shirt blocked my path.
"Hey!" He called out, swaying slightly. "Who let the help in through the front door?"
Several heads turned, conversation dying as people noticed me. The man – clearly drunk – stepped closer, his expensive cologne overwhelming.
"Chase," he introduced himself with an exaggerated bow. "And you must be new. Though I have to say," his eyes raked over me in a way that made my skin crawl, "you're prettier than our usual maids."
I tried to step around him. "Excuse me."
His hand shot out, gripping my arm hard enough to bruise. "Not so fast, sweetheart. And what are you going to do about it?"
"Let go." My voice was steadier than I felt.
"Or what?" His grip tightened painfully. A circle of spectators had formed, drinks in hand, watching the entertainment. "Going to file a complaint with the agency? Good luck with that."
"I said, let go."
Chase raised his hand again, but this time I was ready. Years of fending for myself hadn't left me helpless. As his arm swung down, I caught his wrist in a firm grip. His eyes widened in shock.
"You—" He yanked his arm back, but the sudden movement combined with his drunken state worked against him. He stumbled, losing his balance completely, and crashed to the floor with an undignified thud.
The room fell dead silent. Even the music seemed to stop.
"What's going on here?"
Adam's voice cut through the silence like a blade of ice. He stood in the doorway, his tall frame radiating cold fury as he took in the scene – Chase sprawled on the expensive carpet, me standing over him.
"Your maid," Chase spat, struggling to his feet, "just attacked me!"
The crowd parted like water as Adam strode forward. The temperature in the room seemed to drop several degrees.
Adam's cold gaze settled on me, his lip curling slightly. "Apologize to Chase."
"Apologize?" I couldn't keep the disbelief from my voice. "He attacked me first. I only defended myself."
The crowd collectively held their breath. Chase, who had been brushing off his designer clothes, froze mid-motion, his eyes darting between Adam and me. Even in his drunken state, he seemed to realize something unprecedented was happening.
The whispers started, spreading through the room like wildfire.
"Did she just..."
"Is she insane?"
"Nobody talks to Adam Foster like that..."
"God, she's dead."
"Even the Mayor backs down when Adam gets that look..."
"Poor thing has no idea who she's dealing with..."
"The Devil of Bay City... she's finished."
No one talked back to Adam Foster. Not in Bay City. Not if they wanted to survive in this world of wealth and power.
Adam's eyes narrowed dangerously, his voice dropping to a lethal whisper. "Either get out, or apologize!"

"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

The Biker's Fate
I squeezed my eyes shut.
"Dani," he pressed. "Do you get me?"
"No, Austin, I don't," I admitted as I pulled my robe closed again and sat up. "You confuse me."
He dragged his hands down his face. "Tell me what's on your mind."
I sighed. "You're everything my parents warned me against. You're secretive, but you're also honest. I feel wholly protected by you, but then you scare me more than anyone I've ever known. You're a bad boy, but when I dated a so-called good one, he turned out to be the devil, so, yeah, I don't get you because you're not what I expected. You drive me crazier than anyone I've ever met, but then you make me feel complete. I'm feeling things I don't quite know how to process and that makes me want to run. I don't want to give up something that might be really, really good, but I also don't want to be stupid and fall for a boy just because he's super pretty and makes me come."

Invisible To Her Bully
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
My Possessive Alpha Twins For Mate
My drunk stepfather remained indifferent, his weight suffocating, making it hard to breathe as my heart raced.
Suddenly, the door slammed open, and two figures burst in.
"Get off her!" a deafening roar echoed.
I didn't expect the twin brothers who'd bullied me at school to come charging in like gods to save me.
After my grandmother passed, I had to move in with my mom and stepdad, who treated me like a servant. I prayed every day for my 18th birthday to come, so l could leave and escape this broken home.
However, on my first day at my new school, l encountered the legendary twins everyone feared.
To make matters worse, the Moon Goddess revealed they were both my mates!
After helping me out with my stepdad, my twin mate cornered me, played with my hair, and whispered possessively, "You belong to us, our little mate..."
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
