The CEO’s Regret: My Ex-Wife’s Secret Twins
Willow Ashford · Ongoing · 66.7k Words
Introduction
He looked at me with pure disdain. "You're not even worthy of me. Abort the child and get out!"
In the end, on the very night of his grand wedding to his "true love," I was crushed in a horrific car accident.
It was only when he held my death certificate that he realized his love for me had already pierced his very soul.
Years later, I returned with a new identity and my twin toddlers in tow, only to be cornered by that same madman.
"I don't know you, sir. Please show some self-respect," I said coldly.
He trapped me against the wall, his voice trembling. "Is that so? Then tell me... why do your children have my blood running through their veins?"
Chapter 1
"Let's get a divorce," Ethan Grant said.
By the floor-to-ceiling window, Diana Parker was looking down at the diamond necklace Ethan had put on her. Her hand froze at his words.
He continued, "Three years are up. Blair's back."
Diana's heart felt like it had been stabbed, the pain making her eyes well up instantly.
Blair Brooks—Ethan's true love. On their wedding night, he had told her that there would only ever be one woman in his heart for the rest of his life.
"So this is my birthday present," Diana said.
This was the first time in three years of marriage that Ethan had celebrated her birthday. Now, the expensive diamond necklace around her neck felt like a heavy chunk of ice, suffocating her.
Ethan stepped back slightly and looked at her. "Are you crying?"
"Yes." Unable to hold back her tears, Diana simply let them flow freely.
But she still kept a smile on her lips. "I'm just so happy. Finally free."
Ethan looked at her with a complicated expression, seemingly not believing her words.
She didn't care. She pushed past him and sat down at one end of the long table.
"Name your terms."
Ethan sat down across from her, the gentleness fading from his face, replaced by his usual cold detachment.
"Money, car, house, career, connections..."
Diana stayed silent.
Seeing her say nothing, Ethan spoke up. "I know you want to be an illustrator, publish books, hold exhibitions. I can help with all of that."
Diana laughed. "So you actually knew."
She had given up her career for this marriage, willing to be a housewife for three years, but in the end, she still couldn't get what she wanted.
Ethan frowned slightly, displeased with her somewhat sarcastic tone. "Just say it. What do you want?"
Diana blinked hard, squeezing out the last of her tears.
Her vision refocused as she regained her composure. "I want five percent of Grant Corporation's shares."
Ethan's face darkened immediately. "Diana, you're being greedy."
"That's right. Wasn't I after money when I married you in the first place?" Diana shrugged, her nails digging into her palm under the table, forcing herself to endure the pain in her heart.
"Money runs out, cars and houses lose value, and as for a career—I'm just a housewife. What skills do I have?"
"Grant Corporation shares are different. I can just sit back and collect dividends every year, and with your ability, there's no way the company will go under."
Ethan's expression grew darker, his suppressed anger obvious.
"Can't bear to part with it?" Diana raised an eyebrow. "For your Blair, shouldn't you give this compensation without hesitation?"
"Why are you bringing her up?" Ethan finally spoke, his voice threatening.
Diana's heart was crushed again.
He didn't care about anything she said, but the moment she mentioned his true love, he immediately jumped to her defense.
"So you can give her a proper status quickly. What if people find out she's the other woman? Wouldn't that be embarrassing?"
Ethan's face darkened. "No one knows I'm married. Why would anyone think she's the other woman? Diana, are you threatening me?"
"How would I dare? You're so anxious—she's not pregnant, is she?" she asked back.
As soon as the words left her mouth, a wave of nausea hit her throat. She turned to the side and dry-heaved.
"Diana!" A vein bulged on Ethan's forehead, looking as if he'd been angered by her casual accusation.
What great acting. Diana silently applauded him in her heart.
Blair's taunting text had already been sent to her phone, the pregnancy test showing the baby was perfectly healthy, yet Ethan was here pretending nothing happened.
"I'll give you one billion."
A divorce agreement was placed in front of her—clearly something Ethan had prepared in advance.
"If you want anything else, you can ask anytime before we get the divorce certificate, but shares are off the table."
Before he finished speaking, his phone rang.
The moment he answered, Ethan's tone became gentle. So he could be this patient when talking to other women.
Diana listened calmly.
She watched him promise to come right over, then stand up and put on his coat with quick movements.
"I've already signed. You should too, as soon as possible."
The man's figure disappeared like the wind. Soon, Diana was alone in the dining room.
The signature at the end of the divorce agreement was pressed so hard it went through the paper, like a slap across her face.
Diana slowly read through the contents, folded the document, put it in her bag, and didn't sign.
She wasn't going to give in so easily.
Taking out her phone, she made a call. "Dr. Cole, the thing I asked you to check—do you have results?"
"The pregnancy test is real. I checked the hospital system using the medical record number—there is such a patient, but the name was erased," Dr. Cole said.
Diana's heart ached again.
How ironic. He protected that woman so thoroughly that she didn't even use her real name at the hospital.
"Based on what we have, her approximate conception date was..." Dr. Cole gave a date.
Diana remembered—Ethan had indeed been on a business trip those days.
"But whose child it is, I definitely can't find out," Dr. Cole said helplessly.
Diana laughed. "It's fine, no need to check. How could Ethan let the woman he loves carry someone else's child?"
"Then..." Dr. Cole's tone carried sympathy.
"Can you write me a medical report? Make up some condition that says I can't have children and it's completely untreatable," Diana said matter-of-factly. "That way, old Mr. Grant will let me go."
"I can, but..." Dr. Cole took a breath. "You're already pregnant. Are you really not going to tell Ethan or the Grants?"
"That's my child. As long as he has me, that's enough. Having a father doesn't matter."
This was a decision Diana had steeled herself to make.
Just an hour ago, on her way to this meeting, Diana had nearly been hit by a car driving the wrong way in the city center.
She'd narrowly dodged it, scraping her knee, thinking it was just an accident—but then the car turned around and came at her again!
Luckily, a patrol officer happened to pass by, and she barely escaped with her life.
She'd been shaking all over and called Ethan, only to have Blair answer, saying he was in the shower.
Earlier, she'd thought Ethan wouldn't show up for her birthday, but he'd arrived on time, giving her hope, giving her a gift, and giving her this agreement.
Diana drank the soda on the table. She went home to pack her things.

On Christmas Eve, I aborted the CEO's child
On Christmas Eve night, my husband brought his mistress home and demanded that I, his pregnant wife, leave with nothing.
On this day, I lost my husband and also lost the child in my womb...
I Loved You in Silence, You Betrayed Me in French
At my birthday party, my husband whispered to his mistress in French that he missed her. His voice was low, but I heard it all—the black lingerie, the bit about how pregnancy makes you more sensitive. His French clients around us were laughing. He turned and put his arm around me, claiming he was just helping his clients come up with sweet nothings.
He doesn't know I understand every single word. Just like he doesn't know that inside my body, I'm carrying his other surprise. And his mistress—she's pregnant too. Two wombs, one secret.
Confrontation would be too cheap. Tears are worthless. I quietly started cataloging the hidden networks my father left behind, activating the Swiss accounts.
In seven days, Zoey Smith will cease to exist. And what will my husband's reaction be?
He Never Loved Me, Until I Left
I put away the divorce agreement with a wry smile.
When he and my son completely disappeared, he finally panicked.
Three months later .
He knelt down on the streets of Chicago in despair, begging me to remarry him.
My six-year-old son looked coldly at his biological father and said, "Get lost, you bad uncle! You don't deserve to be my dad!"
When I Disappeared, He Regretted It
The moment the screen lit up, my entire world came crashing down.
The woman on the bed was Calista - that girl who grew up with us since we were kids. And that hand caressing her skin was wearing the wedding ring I had personally put on Matteo's finger.
"I've missed you so much..."
"You drive me crazy, baby..."
Those sweet words I knew so well completely destroyed me.
Everyone said we were the perfect couple, but who knew this marriage was built on nothing but lies?
Since he's so good at acting, I guess it's time I gave him a show of my own. I'm going to make sure everyone sees what this "perfect husband" really is...
He Thought I'd Never Leave
When he said he was being bullied, I believed him. When he kissed me on that rooftop, I thought he felt the same. When he asked me to transfer schools with him, I said yes without hesitation.
Then I heard him bragging to his friends: "She'd save her first time for me. Hell, she'd still be thinking of me on her wedding night."
The bullying was staged. The kiss meant nothing. He just wanted me gone—so his new girl could feel more comfortable.
He thought I'd beg. He thought I'd cry. He thought I'd never actually leave.
I left the country.
And ran straight into his stepbrother.
I Died While They Threw Her a Party
Their real daughter came home. She'd only been back two years. That's all it took to erase twenty-four.
When kidnappers grabbed us, I used my body as a shield. They beat me until something inside me ruptured. I was dying from internal bleeding, but no one could tell.
My parents wouldn't even look at me. "This is your fault! None of this would've happened if it weren't for you!"
"Get downstairs and apologize to your sister. If you can't, pack your things and get out."
They threw her a party at a downtown hotel while I died alone in my room.
I thought they'd be relieved. Maybe even glad. I thought they'd just move on like I never existed.
But when they finally learned the truth, they fell apart.
Bury Me in His Regret
The kidnapper pressed the gun to my temple and asked, "Choose your wife or your sister-in-law?"
Zachary didn't hesitate. "Let Valerie go," he said.
He actually chose to save his sister-in-law! In that moment, even the baby in my belly seemed to stop kicking.
Later, they locked me in the basement. Drugs to delay labor were pumped into my veins over and over. Zachary wanted to save the "firstborn son" status for his sister-in-law's child.
When warm blood finally soaked through my skirt, I dialed the number I knew by heart with shaking hands.
"Zachary," I whispered into the phone, "our child... can't wait any longer."
The Kidney That Killed Me
A few months ago, my sister was hospitalized with kidney failure. The doctor said she needed a transplant. My family's first thought was me—the backup daughter they'd kept around all these years.
When my husband Allen took my hand with tears in his eyes and said, "Only you can save her," I agreed without hesitation.
When the doctor explained the surgical risks and potential complications, I smiled and nodded my understanding.
My parents said I'd finally learned what sisterly love meant.
Even Allen, who'd always been cold to me, held my hand gently and said, "The surgery's safe. You're so healthy, nothing will go wrong. When you recover, I'll take you to Hawaii."
But they don't know that no matter how the surgery goes, I won't be around to celebrate.
Because I just got my own test results—I have terminal brain cancer. I'm going to die anyway.
After the Affair: Falling into a Billionaire's Arms
From first crush to wedding vows, George Capulet and I had been inseparable. But in our seventh year of marriage, he began an affair with his secretary.
On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Alpha Nicholas's Little Mate
What? No—wait… oh Moon Goddess, no.
Please tell me you're joking, Lex.
But she's not. I can feel her excitement bubbling under my skin, while all I feel is dread.
We turn the corner, and the scent hits me like a punch to the chest—cinnamon and something impossibly warm. My eyes scan the room until they land on him. Tall. Commanding. Beautiful.
And then, just as quickly… he sees me.
His expression twists.
"Fuck no."
He turns—and runs.
My mate sees me and runs.

“I’m sorry, sweetheart. Was that too much?” I could see the worry in his eyes as I took a deep breath.
