The DNA Test That Made My Family Want Me Dead
Lily · Completed · 6.5k Words
Introduction
Just minutes ago, Julian was my perfect, doting husband. Then he opens my unborn baby's genetic screening report. The unadulterated ferocity and revulsion simmering in his eyes makes my entire body shake. He grips my arm, demanding I terminate the pregnancy.
I already died once because of that piece of paper. In my past life, they dragged me to a freezing lab, pumped me full of drugs, and murdered my child before locking me in an asylum.
This time, I hide behind the guests. But my parents storm in. After seeing the report, instead of saving me, Dad kicks me squarely in the stomach.
"You shameless little whore," he spits.
They are about to drag me out the back door when two police officers step through the glass doors. The cop hands me the confiscated report.
I look down at the printed words... and finally understand.
Chapter 1
"Eleanor? Sweetheart, wake up. The test results are here."
My husband Julian’s voice drifted through the door.
I sat rigid before the vanity mirror, my fingertips pressing against the slight swell of my stomach.
I was reborn?!
I had regressed to the exact day we were supposed to host our baby’s gender reveal party.
In my previous life, this was exactly how the nightmare began.
From the moment I found out I was pregnant, Julian had treated me like fragile glass. A highly respected pediatrician, he had practically bought out entire baby boutiques and spent every night whispering lovingly to my stomach. But that perfect facade shattered the second the doorbell rang that morning.
"Sign here, please," the courier had said.
I had stood in the hallway, smiling as Julian tipped the guy and shut the door. He turned around, holding up an envelope—our unborn baby’s genetic screening report.
"Let’s see just how perfect this little genius is," Julian had joked, tearing through the seal.
But the moment his eyes scanned the printed text, his smile froze. His hands began to violently shake.
"Julian? What’s wrong?" I stepped forward, reaching for the paper. "Is the baby okay?"
He severely yanked the page away, staring at me with a look of pure dread.
Right at that moment, the front door swung open again. Mom and Dad breezed into the foyer, arms loaded with beautifully wrapped gifts.
"Where is our gorgeous girl!" Mom cooed, her face beaming with pride. As top-tier geneticists, my parents demanded perfection in everything, and a flawless grandchild was their ultimate trophy. "We bought the cutest little—"
Without a single word, Julian shoved the crumpled report hard against Dad's chest.
Dad's warm, fatherly smile evaporated the instant his eyes locked onto the page.
His grip went slack, and the expensive gifts crashed onto the hardwood floor.
"Richard? What is it?" Mom frowned, snatching the paper out of his trembling hands.
"Mom?!" I sobbed. "What's wrong with my baby?!"
Her eyes darted across the medical jargon. When she finally looked up at me, her gaze was as sharp and cold as shattered ice.
"Cancel the party," she ordered Julian. "Keep your mouth shut. We are handling this right now."
"Mom, please! Explain this to me!" I reached out to grab her arm, but she viciously shoved me backward, sending me crashing hard against the wall.
"Take her out the back door," Dad snarled ferociously.
They ignored my desperate pleas. Within an hour, I was forcibly dragged into a clandestine suburban medical lab.
"Hold her down!" a masked man in a white coat shouted as I thrashed wildly on the freezing steel operating table.
"No! Please! Don’t hurt my baby!" I shrieked, crying hysterically as heavy leather restraints snapped tightly around my wrists and ankles. "Julian! Mom! Help me!"
No one came to my rescue.
They forced my legs apart and pumped me full of drugs while I screamed until my womb felt completely hollow.
I knew my baby was gone.
While I was still shivering on blood-stained sheets, Mom calmly walked into the recovery room.
"Time to go home, Eleanor," she said with a sickeningly sweet smile, as if she had just taken me in for a routine dental checkup.
Something inside my brain simply snapped. "You murdered my baby!" I screamed, lunging at her like a lunatic. "Why?! Why would you do this?!"
Instead of answering, Dad delivered a brutal backhand across my cheek.
"You disgusting bitch!" he roared.
Mom just stared condescendingly at my bleeding lip, entirely devoid of pity. "She’s completely lost her mind," she told Dad seamlessly. "Commit her to Pine Valley Asylum."
From there, the nightmare only spiraled. I was locked inside a padded cell, where Julian quietly paid men to visit my room in the dead of night. I endured three agonizing months of endless torture, humiliation, and violation, until my broken body finally gave out.
I died in unimaginable agony, never knowing what the hell was written on that flimsy piece of paper that warranted such a barbaric death sentence for both me and my unborn child.
I violently gasped for air, a ragged, tearing sound ripping from my throat.
My hands gripped the edge of the table so hard my knuckles turned a stark white.
The door pushed open, and Julian stepped into the bedroom.
"Eleanor? Are you okay? The courier is here. We need to open this together!"
He wrapped his arms around me from behind.

On my birthday, he took her on vacation. On our anniversary, he brought her to our home and made love to her in our bed...
Heartbroken, I tricked him into signing divorce papers.
George remained unconcerned, convinced I would never leave him.
His deceptions continued until the day the divorce was finalized. I threw the papers in his face: "George Capulet, from this moment on, get out of my life!"
Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."
Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully
My back hit the desk. Pain exploded through my skull.

She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.

A Lesson in Magic
Claimed by the Alpha's Love
Four years ago, Fiona's meticulously planned conspiracy turned me from an ordinary omega into a prisoner carrying the weight of a murder charge.
Four years later, I return to a world that has changed beyond recognition.
My best friend Fiona, who is also my stepsister, has become the perfect daughter in my mother's eyes. And my ex-boyfriend, Ethan, is about to hold a high-profile mating ceremony with her.
The love, family bonds, and reputation that I once cherished have all been taken by Fiona.
Just when I had reached my breaking point, questioning the very purpose of my existence, the legendary Alpha Lucas of Moonhaven suddenly appeared in my life.
He is powerful and enigmatic, a figure that all werewolves hold in awe.
Yet, he shows an extraordinary persistence and tenderness towards me.
Is Lucas's appearance a gift from fate, or the start of another conspiracy?
Rise of the Banished She-Wolf
That roar stole my eighteenth birthday and shattered my world. My first shift should have been glory—blood turned blessing into shame. By dawn they'd branded me "cursed": cast out by my pack, abandoned by family, stripped of my nature. My father didn't defend me—he sent me to a forsaken island where wolfless outcasts were forged into weapons, forced to kill each other until only one could leave.
On that island I learned the darkest edges of humanity and how to bury terror in bone. Countless times I wanted to surrender—dive into the waves and never surface—but the accusing faces that haunted my dreams pushed me back toward something colder than survival: revenge. I escaped, and for three years I hid among humans, collecting secrets, learning to move like a shadow, sharpening patience into precision—becoming a blade.
Then, under a full moon, I touched a bleeding stranger—and my wolf returned with a violence that made me whole. Who was he? Why could he wake what I'd thought dead?
One thing I know: now is the time.
I have waited three years for this. I will make everyone who destroyed me pay—and take back everything that was stolen from me.
I Slapped My Fiancé—Then Married His Billionaire Nemesis
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
The Forbidden Throb
Mine changed in the time it took to open a door.
Behind it: my fiancé Nicholas with another woman.
Three months until our wedding. Three seconds to watch it all burn.
I should have run. Should have screamed. Should have done anything except stand there like a fool.
Instead, I heard the devil himself whisper in my ear:
"If you're willing, I could marry you."
Daniel. The brother I was warned about. The one who made Nicholas look like a choir boy.
He leaned against the wall, watching my world implode.
My pulse thundered. "What?"
"You heard me." His eyes burned into mine. "Marry me, Emma."
But as I stared into those magnetic eyes, I realized something terrifying:
I wanted to say yes to him.
Game on.
The Biker Alpha Who Became My Second Chance Mate
"You're like a sister to me."
Those were the actual words that broke the camel's back.
Not after what just happened. Not after the hot, breathless, soul-shaking night we spent tangled in each other's arms.
I knew from the beginning that Tristan Hayes was a line I shouldn't cross.
He wasn't just anyone, he was my brother's best friend. The man I spent years secretly wanting.
But that night... we were broken. We had just buried our parents. And the grief was too heavy, too real...so I begged him to touch me.
To make me forget. To fill the silence that death left behind.
And he did. He held me like I was something fragile.
Kissed me like I was the only thing he needed to breathe.
Then left me bleeding with six words that burned deeper than rejection ever could.
So, I ran. Away from everything that cost me pain.
Now, five years later, I'm back.
Fresh from rejecting the mate who abused me. Still carrying the scars of a pup I never got to hold.
And the man waiting for me at the airport isn't my brother.
It's Tristan.
And he's not the guy I left behind.
He's a biker.
An Alpha.
And when he looked at me, I knew there was no where else to run to.
