The Pack Marked Me Omega. The Crown Heard Me Break
Serena Vale · Ongoing · 6.0k Words
Introduction
She is a treaty ward, a scholarship student, and the wolf everyone expects to fail. During the public Moon Rank rite, the Alpha Stone gives her no rank at all. The Council calls her defective. Her foster pack calls her unstable. Before nightfall, they order her wolf sealed before her first full shift.
Then Mara bleeds on the stone, and the stone cracks.
Her blood hears what powerful wolves have buried: broken Alpha commands, rotten pack oaths, and the erased scent of a mother she was never allowed to remember. The more they try to silence her, the more the old territory answers.
Kael Draven, heir to the strongest Alpha house, is ordered to stand against her. Protecting Mara could cost him his succession, his pack, and every future he was raised to inherit. But obeying means letting the girl his mark answers be sealed as nothing.
Mara does not want to be claimed. She wants her wolf alive.
With a disgraced Luna candidate, a rival pack commander, and a healer hiding survivor scars, Mara must walk into the rites built to erase girls like her and make the Pack smell the truth.
They marked her omega.
The Moon called her heir.
Chapter 1
The Alpha Stone did not glow for me.
It should have.
Every wolf born under a pack moon carried something the stone could answer. A red pulse for warrior blood. Silver for healer blood. Gold for command. Even omegas received a soft blue shimmer, the color of a hearth fire, the color that said this wolf belonged somewhere and could be counted under someone's protection.
I got nothing.
The stone stayed black beneath my palm.
Around the Moon Rank Circle, three hundred wolves watched the silence spread.
Their scents pressed in from every tier of the amphitheater: cedar dominance, iron challenge, sweet Luna oil, damp fur from students who had shifted before dawn to show off for the visiting packs. The academy had polished every white stone step until the whole circle looked carved out of bone. Banners snapped above us in the mountain wind, each one carrying a pack crest.
None carried mine.
I stood alone on the center mark with my hand on a dead stone and my foster Alpha's disappointment burning hotter than the torches.
"Again," Elder Varik said.
His voice rolled through the circle with Alpha weight. It was not a request. My knees felt it before my ears did.
I pressed harder.
The Alpha Stone was cold enough to ache through my skin. A drop of blood slid from the cut across my palm into the carved groove where every student's blood was meant to wake their rank. The groove drank mine. No red. No silver. No blue.
Nothing.
A murmur rose from the academy students behind the rank line.
"Defective."
Someone whispered it from the left side, too softly for the elders to punish and loud enough for the word to find me.
I kept my head up.
Wolves respected the throat. Lower your chin too far and someone would remember you could be made to kneel.
Elder Varik's mouth thinned. He wore the white pelt of the Moon Rank Council across his shoulders, the old wolf's fur bright against his black formal coat. Black scar-lines crossed the backs of his hands, old as roots, half-hidden under silver rings.
I had seen those marks before on dominant wolves who gave commands that made other people flinch.
I had never seen them move.
Today, as my blood sank into the stone and vanished, the marks shifted.
Just once.
Like something under his skin had opened an eye.
My fingers tightened on the stone.
Pain flashed up my arm. Not from the cut. From the silence. It pushed into my bones, deep and wrong, as if the stone were not empty at all. As if it were holding its breath.
"Mara Vale," Elder Varik said, and every voice died. "Treaty ward of Blackwater Pack. Scholarship candidate of Moonspire Academy. Present classification: unconfirmed."
My foster Alpha did not look at me.
Gareth Blackwater stood with the visiting pack leaders at the north tier, one hand resting on the shoulder of his true daughter. Liora's rank had blazed gold ten minutes ago. The circle had howled for her until the mountain answered.
For me, there was only wind.
Elder Varik lifted his hand.
"The stone has refused response. By Moon Rank custom, a wolf whose blood cannot be read cannot be placed in warrior track, healer track, Luna track, or command line."
The words struck with practiced mercy. Clean. Public. Impossible to argue.
My foster pack would love them.
No rank meant no training ring. No ring meant no scholarship. No scholarship meant I went back to Blackwater territory as the girl they fed because the treaty required it, not because anyone wanted me there.
I tasted blood and copper and the bitter edge of panic.
Do not shake.
Not here.
Not while Liora watched from beneath her gold-rank braid with pity sweetening her scent.
Elder Varik turned slightly, letting the whole circle see his face. "Mara Vale is hereby marked defective omega until the next review moon."
The word did not land like a word.
It landed like a collar.
The omega students behind the east arch went silent first. I felt their fear sharpen. Even they had rank. Even they had hearth-blue under pack protection. Defective omega was not a place in the hierarchy. It was a hole beneath it.
Someone laughed.
I did not turn.
I knew the sound. Corin, one of the senior prefects, son of a border Alpha and proud owner of a wolf too large for his skull. He had once dumped ash into my laundry because, according to him, treaty wards should smell like what they were worth.
"Defective," he said again, no longer whispering.
The circle let him.
Elder Varik reached toward the iron bowl at his side. Inside it waited the gray ash used to mark failed rank trials. One thumb across my brow, and every wolf in Moonspire would know I was not simply low. I was wrong.
My hand was still on the stone.
I should have removed it.
I could not.
Something had begun to hum beneath my palm.
Not sound.
Pressure.
Like a howl buried under ice.
Elder Varik dipped his thumb in ash. "Kneel, child."
Alpha weight slammed into the command.
My spine bowed before I could stop it. Gasps fluttered through the student ranks, eager and horrified. The pressure pushed at the back of my neck, at the soft animal place every wolf learned to guard. My knees bent an inch.
Then the stone warmed.
Not much.
Just enough to feel alive.
The buried howl opened.
I heard voices.
Dozens at first, layered under the amphitheater, under the torches, under the snow-bright sky.
Broken.
Not speaking in words. Not exactly. They sounded like promises torn apart by teeth.
Protect.
Obey.
Hide the line.
Seal the girl.
My breath stopped.
The black scar-lines on Elder Varik's hands writhed.
He saw my eyes drop to them.
For one heartbeat, the elder's scent changed.
Fear.
Sharp, sour, and gone so quickly I might have imagined it.
Then another scent cut through the circle.
Storm cedar. Cold iron. Alpha blood held on a brutal leash.
Kael Draven stood at the west arch with the royal visiting line, taller than the heirs around him, his dark formal coat marked with the silver claw of the Alpha House. I had seen him only from a distance before. Everyone at Moonspire had. Future High Alpha. Crown-bred. Untouchable.
His face was controlled.
His wolf was not.
It pushed through his eyes, turning them from gray to burning silver as he stared at my hand on the stone.
Elder Varik's thumb hovered an inch from my forehead.
"Kneel," he repeated.
The command hit harder.
My knees buckled.
The stone cracked.
The sound split the amphitheater like thunder.
Black rock fractured beneath my bleeding palm, one jagged line racing through the ancient surface, then another, then another. The torches blew sideways though the wind had not changed. Every wolf in the Moon Rank Circle surged to their feet.
I should have been afraid of the broken stone.
I was.
But beneath the thunder, beneath the shouts, beneath Elder Varik's sudden snarl, I heard one clear voice that did not belong to any human mouth.
Kael Draven's wolf.
Low. Furious. Certain.
She is not omega.

The Alpha's Stripper Mate
"What?" It was out of my mouth before I could stop it. I did not wait for him to answer me, I walked toward him.
"Dance on my lap."
My head screamed at me to turn around and run. But my whole body responded to his command.
"Yes, Alpha," I pulled my dress over my body, it dropped over my head and fell to the ground behind me. I was left in nothing but my matching bra and thong. My hands covered my chest on reflex.
"Let me see."
My hands dropped to my sides.
I lowered myself into his lap, facing him. His eyes peered into mine, and I could feel his hot breath fan my face. His dick responded to all my moves, hardening against my now-moist vagina. I swallowed hard, allowing my lips to part in a ragged breath. His hands trailed up to my waist.
"No touching."
