Chapter 1
CHAPTER 1:
SOPHIA'S POV.
“...and who walks around with bigger tits simply because they turned?” My sharp ears picked up on stray gossip and some follow up laughter. I halted in my way and hid behind the open door.
“So unlucky. It's the first time I've seen jugs that big that aren’t even attractive.” Someone else narked just before laughing.
I was certain they were talking about me. I looked down at my chest and my eyes were watering up. I was embarrassed.
I hadn't been myself since the last full moon. In fact, since ever. But it was worse this time.
My wolf had never turned and left me the same. I was older than eighteen but I never had control of my wolf.
I hated full moons. I occasionally had weird dreams too, but my favorite was the sexy mystery man who would hold my hand under the full moon.
But why did my freakish wolf leave me with unequal, overgrown breasts this time?
“She embarrasses me… it gets worse every time, but I can't tell her I'm done. Don't know if I can.”
I broke on hearing that voice and discerning it's disgust. It was Tristan, my boyfriend. Naturally, everyone in the class and a large bunch of the school hated me. But not Tristan. He cared for me. Or so I thought.
“Tch, I don't know how you still put up with the freak after she almost killed you, man… Would've broken up with her a long time ago.”
Yes, I almost killed Tristan and four other classmates three full moons before. But it was an accident. It was because of my wolf. It was scared and I wasn't in control.
No matter how much I explained and apologized, the school board wasn't to know. To make things worse, I was now banished into the woods during the full moon.
I thought Tristan forgave me. He was my only anchor in a sea of haters. I never had friends and was always alone.
Tears rolled free on my cheeks as I covered my mouth with one hand. The one person that I loved the most was embarrassed of me and could barely stand me. The bullying had never hurt this much.
I lost my parents at a young age and was taken in by the school. I didn't have any life outside of school before I met Tristan. He loved my innocence and told me I was special when I told him about my wolf.
Was this how he truly felt?
I swallowed hard as I struggled to drag my feet away from behind the open door, turning away from the direction of the heartbreak.
“Sophia?” I halted again, as I heard his voice call my name.
“Hey! I thought that was you babe. I didn't know you were- um…” Tristan’s fake smile faded as I turned around to look at him, my face reddened and my eyes relentless with tears.
“I embarrass you… Tristan?” My shaky voice was holding up poorly.
“Wait, Sophia…”
“Don't touch me, you son of a bitch!” I yelled as he attempted to hold me together.
He must not have known that I heard him pour his heart to his ‘friends’. His soft and gentle touch that I always craved meant nothing to me now.
“W-Well, what do you want me to say? Huh!?” He yelled back, pushing me with one hand. Tristan never yelled at me before, or as much as laid a finger on me. More tears flowed down my cheeks.
“I've been struggling too, Sophia. The world doesn't start and end with you! Or how do you think I feel?”
Students started to come out into the hallway, and Tristan didn't spare me any more shame as he raised his voice even louder.
“I didn't complain when you almost killed me, Did I? I never talked about your weird neck hair or your fangs that didn't go away since the last full moon. Now it's your granny sag bags, and yet, I was still there for you when no one else was. I even graciously let you hope that I'd mark you… ”
“Get it clear into your head, Sophia… you’re a freak and you'll never be my mate!”
My hand clenched my skirt for want of something to hold on to. My face was pale, as tears rolled off it. “Tristan…”
“No! We're done!”
I was getting dizzy as his words completely crushed my broken heart.
He walked back into the classroom and left me drowning in his embarrassment. My knees weakened as I saw the smirks going round the faces of the other students in the hallway.
The murmur and soft chuckles…
I gripped my chest with my hand as the air around me had now become unbreathable. My world slowly went dark as I slumped cold on the floor, passed out.
“Sophia? Can you hear me?” A distant call echoed in my ear.
My head hurt as my eyes slowly opened and saw that it was bright again.
“Get up, Sophia…”
I wasn't strong enough. I was still reeling from Tristan's harsh words, and I still heard his voice in my head and that made it ache the more.
I could barely feel my legs but I felt the curious gazes poking at me as I walked into the classroom. I tried not to hit eye contact even though Tristan was sitting to the right at the end of my row.
The new professor wanted to meet the whole class, otherwise I would've been anywhere distant enough from the reach of the shame that Tristan threw me in. I sat quietly and craved blending into the background, wiping a residue tear from my eye.
The murmurs in the classroom came to an abrupt low when I heard the classroom door open.
I looked up and watched a tall, daunting figure in a shiny spiffy suit walk in. He strode with slow, precise steps and wore a resolute look, courtesy of a chiseled jawline and his black hair sheen brushed all back. He looked like a Greek god.
"Good afternoon, class," he greeted, his deep baritone resonating through the whole class. "My name is Nolan Blackwood, but you can call me Professor Blackwood. I'll be covering your Mythology curriculum for the new year."
What!? I felt a little smile break through the edge of my mouth leaving it open. His voice, his soulful grey eyes and distinct woody musk had invaded the air in the class and my mind. I forgot that I was having the worst day of my life.
Mythology was my favourite course, and hearing him say that he was going to cover it for the year had me strangely stimulated.
He looked around with a smile as the class applauded his welcome but soon caught my gaze in an intense stare.
For a moment, our eyes locked and I felt an unspoken understanding, as if he could see through me. I became more self-aware when our gazes lingered, but before I could prop a smile, he…
"Let's get started, shall we?"

The Human Among Wolves
My stomach twisted, but he wasn’t finished.
"You're just a pathetic little human," Zayn said, his words deliberate, each one hitting like a slap. "Spreading your legs for the first guy who bothers to notice you."
Heat rushed to my face, burning with humiliation. My chest ached — not from his words alone, but from the sick realization that I had trusted him. That I had let myself believe he was different.
I was so, so stupid.

“I am done chasing you.”
Before she could formulate a witty remark, Matteo threw her down. She landed hard on her back atop his dining room table. She tried to sit up when she noticed what he was doing. His hands were working on his belt. It came free of his pants with a violent yank. She collapsed back on her elbows, her mouth gaping open at the display. His face was a mask of sheer determination, his eyes were a dark gold swimming with heat and desire. His hands wrapped around her thighs and pulled her to the edge of the table. He glided his fingers up her thighs and hooked several around the inside of her panties. His knuckles brushed her dripping sex.
“You’re soaking wet, Genevieve. Tell me, was it me that made you this way or him?” his voice told her to be careful with her answer. His knuckles slid down through her folds and she threw her head back as she moaned. “Weakness?”

Only then did panic flood his eyes as he begged me to stay.
When his calls bombarded my phone later that night, it wasn't me who answered, but my new boyfriend Julian.
"Don't you know," Julian chuckled into the receiver, "that a proper ex-boyfriend should be as quiet as the dead?"
George seethed through gritted teeth: "Put her on the phone!"
"I'm afraid that's impossible."
Julian dropped a gentle kiss on my sleeping form nestled against him. "She's exhausted. She just fell asleep."

Oops, Wrong Girl to Bully

"Girls like you don't get to dream about guys like Kai." Bella's breath was hot on my face. "You don't get to write pathetic love letters."
She shoved me again. Harder.
"Maybe if you weren't such a desperate little—"
I fell. My head cracked against the corner.
Warmth trickled down my neck. Blood.
Their laughter turned to gasps.
The door slammed.
I tried to stand. Couldn't. The room was spinning, fading to black.
