Mocked by My Fiancée, I Became the Wolf King in Frozen Apocalypse
Chau · Completed · 5.8k Words
Introduction
I risked my life nine times over to evolve into a high-tier Ice Plains Wolf, and just to find a piece of meat to keep my fiancée alive, I frantically tore apart wild beasts in the snow. Yet I was betrayed by her and her lover—they cut out my heart with an ice blade!
When I opened my eyes again, I had been reborn half a month before the apocalypse!
Time was running out. To awaken the highest tier of beast-human form, I needed an enormous amount of meat to provide energy.
Sports cars? Ocean-view villas? Billions in assets? I wanted none of it!
I immediately dumped my manipulative fiancée, liquidated all my assets into cash, bought a fully enclosed fortified meat processing plant, and frantically stockpiled hundreds of thousands of tons of high-calorie raw meat!
The extreme cold arrived as expected, turning the entire city into a frozen hellscape.
The scumbag pair who betrayed me in my previous life now knelt outside my impregnable airlock door, crying pitifully and begging me for scraps.
I stepped out of my fortress and looked down at them with claws sharp enough to tear through steel:
"Want meat? Go to hell and eat dirt!"
Chapter 1
"Viktor! Are you even listening to me?"
My fiancée Iris stood before a pile of limited edition crocodile leather bags, arms crossed, face full of arrogance.
"These sixteen latest season pieces—I want them all." Iris said aggressively. "Don't use your pathetic investment projects as an excuse. Swipe the card now! Otherwise, this weekend's engagement party is cancelled, and our engagement is completely over!"
Looking at this face that once made me give my heart and soul, anger rose within me.
In my previous life, the extreme cold apocalypse descended without warning, and global temperatures plummeted overnight.
A small portion of people evolved into beast-humans with absolute power. I risked my life to evolve into a rare high-tier Ice Plains Wolf beast-human.
In that frozen wasteland, I frantically tore apart mutated beasts in the snow just to bring back a piece of meat to keep her alive. But what about her? She conspired with that worthless lover Bradley, whom I had sheltered, and personally pierced my heart with an ice blade when I was vulnerable from transformation!
"Viktor!" Seeing my indifference, Iris frowned. "What are you daydreaming about? My patience is limited!"
I looked at her coldly, my eyes as if viewing a corpse.
She would never imagine I had been reborn, returning to before the extreme cold apocalypse descended.
Now there were only half a month left until the extreme cold arrived. Those survival fortresses and massive amounts of high-energy meat needed to sustain evolution all required immediate preparation. My time was more precious than diamonds—who had time to play house with a dead woman?
"Move aside," I said, my voice extremely low, devoid of any warmth.
Iris froze, seemingly not understanding my words.
"I said, get out of my way." I strode forward and pushed her aside.
Caught off guard, Iris staggered back two or three steps, her lower back slamming hard into the glass display case. She let out a sharp scream of pain.
"Viktor! Have you lost your mind?!" she shrieked.
I completely ignored her and turned to leave.
Unable to stop me, she vented her anger on Nina, her personal assistant and secretary.
"Did you seduce Viktor? Is that why he's always making excuses about working overtime? You've bewitched him?!"
Nina trembled in fear, her face pale, shaking her head desperately. "No... Miss Iris, I haven't."
"Shut up, you lowly creature!"
Iris rushed forward, pushed her to the ground, then raised her arm to slap Nina across the face!
Nina closed her eyes in fear, not daring to dodge.
Just as the slap was about to land—
I caught Iris's wrist.
Iris gasped in pain, looking up in shock and fury to meet my ice-cold eyes.
In that very second, sealed memories flooded back into my mind.
In my previous life, it was this timid girl, who always kept her head down and took abuse, who risked her life in the extreme cold apocalypse to bring me news that Iris and her lover Bradley were plotting against me.
Although I received the message, I was too weak at the time and still couldn't escape their ambush.
In my previous life, she saved me. In this life, no one would touch a single hair on her head.
"Viktor! Let go! I'm going to tear this little bitch's face apart!" Iris struggled frantically, but under my strength, she couldn't move at all.
I increased the pressure on my grip, and sweat instantly appeared on Iris's forehead.
"Didn't you want to break off the engagement?" I looked down at her from above. "No need to wait until the weekend."
I turned to look at the still-shocked store manager and issued a cold command: "Listen carefully. From now on, revoke all family subsidiary black card authorizations under Miss Iris's name. These sixteen bags she picked today—let her pay for them herself. If she can't afford it—"
I paused, a mocking smile on my lips. "Throw her out."
The store manager and several sales assistants exchanged glances, then quickly dropped their deference to Iris, their eyes becoming subtle and scrutinizing. In this circle, without my family's financial support, Iris was worthless.
"You... you're publicly humiliating me for her sake?" Iris's voice trembled. "Viktor, you'll regret this! You think I care about your money? You'll come crawling back on your knees begging me!"
"Don't worry," I released her hand. "I guarantee that within half a month, you'll regret still breathing."
Ignoring her impotent screaming, I turned and walked to Nina.
She sat slumped on the floor, looking up at me in a daze.
"Stand up." I extended my hand.
Nina instinctively placed her hand in my palm.
I pulled her up with one motion and said coldly, "Get your things. You're coming with me."
Less than half a month remained until the frozen hell descended.
To build the most solid fortress, to purchase that fully enclosed fortified meat processing plant in the city suburbs to ensure high-energy meat for beast transformation, I needed an enormous and clean cash flow.
And my luxury assets under my name—it was time to liquidate them.
