Introduction

Queenie Lorente was tricked by her future mother-in-law and married her fiancé's uncle, Benoit Clancy, who was ill and in a wheelchair.
Queenie thought her life would be a torture after getting married. However, she was not only given a house and land but also was spoiled.
The only downside was that her husband coughed so hard every now and then, looking like he was going to die anytime soon.
One day, Queenie discovered the secret of this sick and weak husband who had coveted her for a long time.
Queenie sneered. "Aren't you about to die?"
Benoit said modestly, "I recovered because you had taken such good care of me ."
Queenie gritted her teeth. "Aren't you a cripple?"
Benoit broke into a cold sweat. "I asked a famous doctor to cure me, so our children won't be laughed at for it."
Queenie was furious. "Benoit, do you ever tell the truth?"
With a plop, Benoit skillfully knelt on the keyboard. "Baby, you can punish me, but please don't be mad.
"Everything is my fault. Don't get mad and affect our baby."
Those who were abused by Benoit to the point of regretting and doubting their lives would be absolutely dumbfounded if they saw this.

Chapter 1

Queenie Lorente would never have thought that her fiancé's mother would send her to another man's bed as soon as her fiancé left!

When she regained consciousness and wanted to run, there was the sound of the door opening in the dark room, followed by the furious sound of a man over her head.

"Who sent you here?"

Before Queenie could explain anything, her wrist was strangled.

The man roughly dragged her away from the bed, threw her like trash, and said in disgust, "Get out!"

With a bang, Queenie was thrown on the carpet. It hurt so much that tears fell from her eyes.

She struggled to leave with her limp body several times but failed.

"I-I can't get up..." Left with no choice, she explained.

However, she sounded like a kitten, as if she was deliberately trying to be seductive.

Even Queenie herself felt her voice was inviting.

She was troubled, knowing that the man would be more convinced that she was actively trying to seduce him.

Unexpectedly, the next moment, the man rushed toward her like a gust of wind, and excitedly grabbed her arms. "It's you!"

There was a bit of surprise and joy in that voice.

"It's not... you've got the wrong person... Hmm..."

Before she finished speaking, Queenie's lips were blocked tightly.

The man's domineering breath mixed with the faint smell of tobacco poured into her mouth forcefully.

Soon, the man got on top of her, his actions were domineering and rough.

Queenie struggled desperately but was restrained even more. The man seemed to want to squeeze the last breath of air out of her chest.

In the long night, she did not know when this torture would end.

Even if she escaped the sexual assault of the student's parent in the afternoon, so what?

How different was the fate that awaited her?

"Ouch." Queenie felt a pain in her shoulder.

The man bit her hard and said with dissatisfaction, "Focus."

What followed was an even more intense invasion. It made Queenie completely unable to think. All she could do was to be forced to drown in the darkness of the night.

The next day, when Queenie woke up, she found that her clothes had been neatly put on, which made her look a little less mortified.

Thinking of last night's experience, she sat up in shock and met the deep eyes of the man in front of the French window.

The man was facing outside the window, and his facial features seemed a little unreal under the sunlight. Queenie could only vaguely see his skin was a little sickly pale, and he wore a pair of gold-rimmed glasses. He looked elegant, like a scholar.

His back was straight. Even though he was sitting in a wheelchair and slowly pushing towards this side, the nobility and pride in his bones were still apparent all over his body.

When Queenie saw the man's face clearly, she was so startled that her whole body trembled. "Be-Benoit!"

How could it be her fiancé's uncle, Benoit Clancy?

She was almost raped by a student's parent last night. In order to protect herself, she smashed that person's head and hurriedly sought help from her fiancé, Pollard Clancy.

At that time, Pollard was in a hurry to go on a business trip, so he handed Queenie over to his mother to take care of her.

Who knew that after Queenie drank the milk handed over by her fiancé's mother, she was moved to another room.

But why... why was it Pollard's uncle, Benoit?

Queenie felt both ashamed and angry, wishing she could flee the scene right now!

"I will be responsible for what happened last night." Benoit pushed the wheelchair over, his voice was as warm as a mountain breeze.

His eyes and tone were sincere.

Queenie was taken aback for a moment. As soon as she looked up, she saw Benoit covering his mouth and coughed lightly. His voice was filled with indescribable loneliness, and then he laughed at himself and smiled in a self-mocking way.

"Of course, the premise is that you don't mind I'm a cripple. As long as you agree, we can go to the City Hall today."

"City Hall?" Queenie's eyes trembled.

Before yesterday, she hoped that the marriage could be settled quickly more than anything so that her family could no longer use dirty means to set her up.

Hence, she rushed over to look for Pollard, planning to be married to him as soon as possible.

But Pollard felt that Queenie was making a big fuss for nothing and rejected her.

Queenie really did not expect this. How could Benoit say these words so easily?

"I..." Queenie gritted her teeth.

For a moment, she wanted to ignore everything and just agree, so she could escape from her family!

But when she returned to her senses, she shook her head in fright.

No, no. This person was her fiancé's uncle!

Moreover, he was also the rumored ruthless and merciless man who had mass influence over the forces in Kirsten City, and would use any means to achieve his goals!

She did not want to be involved with someone with such a complicated background.

Seeing Queenie shaking her head, Benoit seemed not too surprised and laughed at himself. His elegant face was weak and sickly pale, and he coughed twice again, looking like he was dying.

"It's okay, I understand. How can a normal person be willing to spend the rest of her life with a cripple like me?"

Queenie's heart softened a bit.

Hearing what Benoit said, Queenie felt bad too, but right now she just wanted to escape from this embarrassing situation. Hence, she could only say awkwardly, "Benoit, if there's nothing else, then I-I'll go first."

As soon as Queenie said that, she got up anxiously. However, to her surprise, her legs gave way, and she fell straight forward.

Benoit's face changed slightly, and he moved the wheelchair forward quickly, stretched his arms, and caught Queenie in his arms.

The two warm bodies pressed against each other, and a fragrance rushed into Benoit's nose. Benoit remembered the feeling of last night, and his Adam's apple rolled unconsciously.

Queenie's cheeks were pressed against Benoit's warm chest. Hearing his majestic and powerful heartbeat, she was extremely embarrassed.

But her legs were so numb that she could not stand up.

Benoit's gentle voice came from above her head.

"Did I hurt you last night?"

Queenie's face instantly turned red like a rose.

Suppressing the numbness, she pushed Benoit's chest away and stood up straight, feeling a little annoyed at herself.

For a moment just now, she felt an unprecedented sense of security.

This feeling made her feel very at ease, but the next moment she wanted to scold herself.

What was she thinking?

This man was her fiancé's uncle!

Queenie was so ashamed again that she wanted to dig a hole.

However, Benoit did not seem to notice her embarrassment, so he stretched out his hand and gently grabbed her wrist, and asked, "Was I too rough?"

Queenie was so startled that she quickly shook off his wrist, not knowing whether to shake her head or nod.

"I'm sorry..." Benoit apologized solemnly.

Queenie looked up in astonishment, and saw Benoit's extremely sincere eyes.

This person... seemed to be a bit different from that rumor.

Unexpectedly, in the next moment, Benoit admitted to her seriously.

"I'm sorry, I wasn't very good last night..."

Queenie's calm face turned red again.

What the hell was she doing?

How could she discuss such a matter with her fiancé's uncle?

Benoit looked at Queenie's lowered little head and smiled slightly.

At this time, there was a violent knock on the door that almost made the door tremble.

"Benoit, open the door!

"Benoit, you monster, quickly release my daughter-in-law!"

The clamoring voices came in one after another, and Queenie's face lost all blood in shock.

It was Pollard's mother!

Her future mother-in-law!

The very person who pushed Queenie onto Benoit's bed was so shameless that she actually came to catch Queenie!

Queenie was extremely embarrassed and did not know how to deal with this situation.

Suddenly, a man's hand with distinct bones came into sight, and her hand was tightly grasped by Benoit. Queenie felt a rare sense of security for a moment.

Benoit's hoarse and low voice sounded in her ear.

"Don't be afraid, just put all the blame on me later."

After just a short while, Benoit let go of her, pushed the wheelchair to the bed with a calm expression, and slowly tidied up the messy bedding.

When he touched a bright red spot on the bedsheet, the corners of his eyes darkened for a moment and he covered it with a quilt calmly.

Queenie looked at the back of Benoit tidying the bed, feeling sore in her heart.

Surprisingly, it was Benoit who was protecting her dignity at such a moment.

Click.

Lilith Clancy opened the door from outside and rushed directly.

Being second best is practically in my DNA. My sister got the love, the attention, the spotlight. And now, even her damn fiancé.
Technically, Rhys Granger was my fiancé now—billionaire, devastatingly hot, and a walking Wall Street wet dream. My parents shoved me into the engagement after Catherine disappeared, and honestly? I didn’t mind. I’d crushed on Rhys for years. This was my chance, right? My turn to be the chosen one?
Wrong.
One night, he slapped me. Over a mug. A stupid, chipped, ugly mug my sister gave him years ago. That’s when it hit me—he didn’t love me. He didn’t even see me. I was just a warm-bodied placeholder for the woman he actually wanted. And apparently, I wasn’t even worth as much as a glorified coffee cup.
So I slapped him right back, dumped his ass, and prepared for disaster—my parents losing their minds, Rhys throwing a billionaire tantrum, his terrifying family plotting my untimely demise.
Obviously, I needed alcohol. A lot of alcohol.
Enter him.
Tall, dangerous, unfairly hot. The kind of man who makes you want to sin just by existing. I’d met him only once before, and that night, he just happened to be at the same bar as my drunk, self-pitying self. So I did the only logical thing: I dragged him into a hotel room and ripped off his clothes.
It was reckless. It was stupid. It was completely ill-advised.
But it was also: Best. Sex. Of. My. Life.
And, as it turned out, the best decision I’d ever made.
Because my one-night stand isn’t just some random guy. He’s richer than Rhys, more powerful than my entire family, and definitely more dangerous than I should be playing with.
And now, he’s not letting me go.
